I was on the bus...
#21
I did the right thing, I would do it again, I will do it again if it happens again.

I feel fully vindicated and at ease with my pro active stance I'm not a say nothing/do nothing pussy ass.

Some passengers on the bus said they were on the verge of saying something themselves and I did the right thing.

They are right and I was right not two yappy little dogs on the internet.

How you feel about it is all that matters anyway, CN. Seriously.

Maybe the women on whose behalf you reportedly spoke up are more like aussie than Duchess, sally and me and would have considered your confrontation brave and admirable.

But, even if they wouldn't have felt that way and wouldn't have wanted or needed your intervention, YOU felt offended by the man and did what YOU felt was right.

Understandable.

He wasn't just “checking her out” though was he you braindead fuckwit?

He was going out of his way to be a leering pervert looking up the skirt of a young woman young enough to be his daughter.

Only at Mock could anyone create any bullshit ambiguity about standing up to and calling out a dirty old pervert who went out of his way to leer up a teenagers skirt.

I don't understand how it could ever considered a bad thing. “You called out and humiliated a dirty old pervert leering up a teenagers skirt? I mean he may have made other people on the bus very umcomfortable but What were you thinking? You were harassing that poor innocent old dirty pervert! Fuck you! You attention seeking cunt!”

Lol.

I'm not brave and I'm not admirable and I was just saying what I could tell nearly everyone on the bus was thinking.

When he was in his seat sitting and staring and leering I didn't like it but when he stood up walked to the bottom of the staircase to look up her skirt I thought “no you've crossed the line now asshole”.

As you say I wasn't a fucking white knight on a fiery steed charging to the girls rescue, no. I was just expressing the disgust of me and the other passengers and trying to shame the pervert which I did.

That's all.

He was looking at a young, adult woman's ass. So what, men do that all the time. As long as he didn't follow her up the stairs or try to touch her I think it was unnecessary to cause a scene. You obviously did it to impress other people on the bus just like you obviously started this thread to have your ego stroked. Congrats, you're a local hero and take Dick's place as the Mock Legend.

Yeah, it was right up there with putting a stop to little kids shoplifting bubble gum. We need more people like you to put dirty old men who like looking at young woman in their place.

Don't talk shit.

He wasn't “just looking at her ass like all men do” you braindead bitch. Do you know any men who would get out of their seat on a bus to go and look up a young womans skirt as she climbed a staircase? I fucking hope not.

I wasn't trying to impress anybody with this thread fuckwit as I have already stated. You can yap on like a rabid Jack Russell till the cows come home but it won't change the fact I did the right thing. The right thing in the eyes of all those who witnessed it first hand which you didn't.

If I really wanted to impress people I'd start a thread about beer injustice just like you did you fucking moron. Now go and make another 50,000 calorie meal to try and finish off your long suffering husband.

Yeah because being a kiddy stealing sweeties is exactly the same as being a dirty old pervert leering (not casually looking at all fuckwit) up a teenage girls skirt.

God you really are a braindead motherfucker.

I just hope I'm not breathing in passive stupidity from you via broadband.

No, I don't need a macho midget and a wannabe Dirty Harry to make a scene just because some dude is checking me out on the bus.

I wouldn't want anyone, man or woman, presuming me to be so needy as to want that kind of intervention (supposedly on my behalf) either.

First you said she was she was an adult woman late teens, early 20s. Now you keep repeating teenager as if it was a 13 year old little girl. He was looking at women on the bus, not little girls.

Unlike you I mind my own fucking business unless someone is being hurt. I don't get up on the bus and start calling people dirty old bastards in a attempt for pats on the back just because he stood near the stairs as some woman was walking up.

I'd hardly call it "intervention". He called the old guy a creepy perv, the girl probably just went on her way and didn't give it a thought one way or another.

Intervention? Pffft. Do you ladies get all pissed off and shit when a guy opens the door for you? Do you find it an insult to your ability to open a door for your own god damn self? I don't need someone to open a door for me but if they do, I find it slightly polite as opposed to insulting.

Crazy feminists. Who gives a fuck if he called the perv a perv?

What did the guy do after you called him a perv, CN? If he quietly slunk back to his seat, I call "guilty". Anyway, it's not like CN beat him over the head with his latest copy of Good Housekeeping magazine or anything. Sheesh.

He does because he's seeking praise for it.

It has nothing to do with being a feminist. The fact that he made a scene on her behalf is not the point. It's the fact that he did it obviously for attention and to impress strangers, not because he thought she was in danger.

I wouldn't have been pissed off if someone intervened (you know, to "come between so as to prevent or alter a result or course of events", as CN described) had I been the object of the staring, or leering, or looking or whatever you want to call it.

Had I even been aware of what went down, I'd probably have felt obligated to thank the interventionist (or however you'd prefer to have him referenced).

I just don't think it was a brave act of public service that was necessary for the women under the described circumstances, based on my experiences. Likewise, I don't presume men in the vicinity are pussies or not gentlemen if they don't confront every guy who they notice pulling the hard check-out or ogle on me or other adult women when out in public. If it moves past looking, whole 'nother story.

But, I already told CN that I understand why he did it, even if I wouldn't have needed or wanted it done on my behalf.

I don't think either perspective is "crazy".

I have to admit, if that guy got out of his seat and I thought his only purpose in doing so was to look up that girls skirt, I would have called him out on it too.

Fuck him, he deserved to be publicly ridiculed if that's what he was up to

Speaking only for myself, I don't view a gentleman opening my door the same way I would view a random stranger calling out a perv on my behalf.

I'm always amazed at the number of things I don't give two fucks about yet the very same thing has the ability to set any number of people off. Maybe I don't have a very good give a fuck or it's broken. I think I'll just chalk it up to being shallow.

I'm going with the guys on this one. I can see myself calling him a perv. He deserves to be humiliated.

I don't view it as an issue of doing right or wrong. The old fart just needed to be be publicly shamed. If, in fact this is even the way it went. down. CN is a drama queen. It wouldn't surprise me if he's making it to be worse than it is.

Maybe I'm shallow too. I typically mind my own effin' business when I'm out and don't care what anyone else is doing unless it affects me, or someone/something is physically putting others in harm's way or attempting to threaten or force others (then, I'm all in).

Always been like that.

I have a sister and a close (male) friend who involve themselves in what strangers are doing or saying routinely because they're somehow interested or feel it's their business. That's them. Okay too.

Having a door opened for you is just common courtesy. Having attention drawn to you for no reason other than to make the person doing it self- congratulatory is annoying.
