SCREWING WITH THE CONSTITUTION
#1

Should we being making amendments to the constitution? If so, why would it be okay for some to do but not others?

Civil rights and voting rights were a good thing to add but when people start trying to change things in relation to the political flavor of the moment, that is bad. That's why it is very difficult to add to or change it, as it should be. It's good that a President cannot use Executive privilege to enact a Constitutional amendment no matter what party he is affiliated with. That is reserved for dictators.

I think it's important to keep in mind that the Constitution was written well over 200 years ago.

In my opinion if verbiage used then doesn't apply today, we as a nation should be able to amend it.

The Magna Carta is pretty old maybe that should be changed. The Mona Lisa looks the same she needs a mustache. Which plain simple statement of freedom should be amended to sound like Lawyer speak today like a tax code. Is it open to dissection for every word spoken in the framework of its creators mind? Which piece would be re-written to appease which crowd.
Is it not written for every race ,creed, religion to be which when challenged can be entrusted to a regional judge for the best of the people as can happen now. Laws are there for most things and that's why the presence of the Supreme Court is there, to handle constitutional questions and return a judgment in simple form.
Changing it should never be taken lightly.

Sadly that's the job of the Supreme Court, not amendments. They get to decide what the verbiage of the time meant and how it applies today. Such power.

trump's DOJ, meaning Boss Hogg Bill Barr, has asked Congress for new powers, including the ability to ask judges to detain people indefinitely without trial during emergencies.

He did that in case some dope with Corona keeps spreading it and doesn't stay home. A temporary order can be done by a judge now anyways like when a person is insane they go to confinement because they are a menace to society. It's not needed right now. Not sure what he is trying to do. First I've heard of it.

That's a Rolling Stone article take it with a grain of salt. They are the ones that ran the rape story a few years ago that was completely false. They got sued and had to pay out.

I don't care that they wrote about it, a lot of people are writing about it. I'm simply telling you that's not where I got it from.

That's what Barr does when he is looking into something. He calls the media.  hah  You have to try and look at things better. Lord knows I've been suckered into stupid unrealistic stories.
