BILL COSBY ACCUSED OF RAPE
Well what's he going to lose, other than his life after having a massive stroke from the stress? Like I said he already made his money.

You haven't explained how he could defend himself against these allegations except to say "no, I didn't rape these women" reading down a list. He CAN'T disprove their allegations so what could he possibly gain (except more press on the issue) by issuing multiple denials?

If I were innocent of a wrong doing, I'd want to yell it from the rooftops too but he obviously wouldn't gain anything by doing that. People either believe or disbelieve him and his just saying "no, those women are lying" (without evidence to support that) would more likely sway public opinion against him and further fuel the media fire.

Sorry to say it but you don't have a future in PR, HotD.

I explained more than once. I'm not explaining again or going into more depth. My points were easy to comprehend the first time, whether you agree with them or not.

If you and sal aren't trolling me, then you're both drunk or slow today.

Anyway, I'm okay not having a future in PR, French Fry. If you decide to pursue a future in the field, I wish you luck. I personally would never hire your bony ass based on what you've espoused in this thread. But, I still wish you luck (and I'd definitely recommend you to the high profile people that I know; the ones I secretly don't much care for).

Coz should tell everyone he was raped by a Catholic priest and that's why he didn't know his actions were so wrong. He's probably got 10 year statute of limitations anyway on criminal prosecution.

Just because you explained them more than once doesn't make them explicable or valid. Wrong is wrong but if you think repeating the same bullshit over and over again makes anyone but you look stupid, I wish you much happiness in your delusions, cheeks. I'm sure your stoned mom would agree with you even if no one else does.

She called us drunk or slow!! At the same time! Like, what are the odds of THAT?

Don't answer that question btw.

I wouldn't explain over and over if you'd quit asking over and over.

I don't mind if you think it makes me look stupid to comply for a while or if no one else agrees with me. Last I checked, you and sally and Duchess weren't everyone, though.

P.s. pulling "yo mamas" outta your ass? Jesus.

That's it Cars, I'm convinced that you've lost your mind.

A. Posting on an internet forum is a good thing. Lack of posting is boring. Don't like the topic or the discussion, don't read it.

B. User brought up the topic of what Cosby should do from a PR perspective today -- that hadn't been discussed previously. I thought it was interesting. A couple of us did and we responded and went round and round a bit. So what? Refer to point A above.

C. PLEASE bring something new and original to the table; contribute to your own experience and satisfaction.

D. You continuing to claim The End and post the dead horse beating emoticon when you don't like or agree with something is lame. And, ineffective. I'm gonna see if I can find more PR advice for Cosby on-line and post it -- just to spite you.

E. Don't have a heart attack. It's really not that serious, Cars. It's gonna be okay. 11

WHAT BILL COSBY SHOULD DO FROM A PR STANDPOINT -- by Nathan Greenberg, PR and Crisis Management Manager at Arkside Marketing

Before this post continues, I want to make it clear that I am not second-guessing the PR people employed by Bill Cosby. From what I have seen and heard over the years, they are some of the most successful people in the business and have been for decades. But they are not the only people involved. A-list celebrities are surrounded by a variety of advisors including public relations specialists, lawyers, agents, studios, costars, friends, family, and many others. All of them have opinions. Most of them offer advice. Some are paid for their advice. That advice doesn’t always agree with another party or the celebrity. Ultimately, the celebrity needs to choose their own action.

Silence Anything But Golden: This is where I believe Bill Cosby is faltering. He is facing an expensive, damaging, and career-ending barrage of accusations. Could the lawyers really be the best helpers when they advise total silence? Every interview has been a “no comment”. Even when the AP tried to play “gotcha” with their recent interview release, he still said nothing.

I find myself more and more in the camp of spectators who believe that this many accusers can’t all be making this up. It is already public knowledge that Bill Cosby has cheated on his wife Camille. Also shocking is the fact that I haven’t seen or heard any reports of his Cosby Show cast members coming to his defense. Most of them were female. Where are they? Thus far, only Raven-Symone has said she was never a victim. But where are Lisa Bonet, Tempestt Bledsoe, Keshia Knight Pulliam, and Sabrina Le Beauf…all of whom knew and worked with Bill Cosby when they were young? Where is his TV wife, Phylicia Rashad? To have so many accusers and so few supporters is surprising for a man so well respected. And each of them is now suffering financially because The Cosby Show reruns have been pulled from TV Land.

The women making accusations are not just unknowns who may be seeking a pay day. They are an assortment of women from all walks of life with a similar story: Cosby allegedly drugged (or tried to drug) them, then took advantage of them physically and/or sexually. Some have tried to sue him, others have come out now for the first time and say they aren’t seeking a dime.

Agents and PR experts are usually the ones advising clients to “get in front of the controversy”. Make strong denials, be bold, circle the wagons with friends and family, etc. Lawyers usually advise absolute silence because anything said can be used against their client in a trial. These accusations have been around for more than four decades and will not be going away any time soon. They seem to be the “nail in the coffin”, as Carla Ferrigno said, to his career.

Were Bill Cosby my client, I would certainly be advising more than “no comment”. Speak to the media:

Put your face out there to show a human side against so many accusations of inhuman acts
Don’t let the accusers control the story
Give the media new material
Work WITH the lawyers – but don’t allow them to be the only voice
Get your friends and family to defend you. Strongly. In public.
Highlight your history of charitable giving
Stop asking people to do things online, like recording laugh tracks and asking social media to “meme” you.

If he is guilty, he needs to admit it. Get counseling, stay with your wife, go to rehab, do jail time if necessary, and work to help victims. Take a page from Lance Armstrong – lying makes it worse. If he is innocent, he should proclaim it all day, every day. The truth shall set you free.

What Happens to Bill Cosby?
So many accusers.
So few defenders.
So much silence.

I don’t see any way for this to end well. Cosby’s career is destroyed. His wife and children (who many know about his true behavior) are forced to endure this. His former co-stars are forced to endure this.

He needs to speak. Now.

PR Guru's Advice To Bill Cosby: 'Shut Up And Disappear'

This one kinda dismisses the option of Cosby being innocent, but agrees with the say nothing camp.

Howard Bragman, a crisis PR expert and founder of 15 Minutes Public Relations, tells Business Insider that Cosby's nearly 50-year-long career is now "probably" over and that the comedian should "shut up and disappear."

Howard BragmanHelga Esteb/Shutterstock.comPR guru and crisis specialist Howard Bragman advises Cosby to "shut up and disappear... just go in your mansion and be happy."

"It's hard to see who would want to be in the Bill Cosby business right now," Bragman explains. "Certainly not a brand, both Netflix and NBC have said 'no.'"

"I don't see what he can say, and even when he says 'This is just innuendo,' why are you doing these comedy clubs?" Bragman questions. "You don't need the money, just go in your mansion and be happy."

While Bragman admits that Cosby "doesn't have a lot of good options right now," the PR expert explains the comedian "has essentially three choices" of how to deal with the scandal:

"You can not talk."
"You can go on record and deny it, which he has done and more people keep coming out of the woodwork."
"Or you can say, 'Yes, I did it and I'm going to get help for it,' but that would open up all sorts of litigation and I don't think that's something you can advise him to do."

In conclusion, Bragman says Cosby "doesn't have a lot of good choices."

"I don't know that this is ever going to blow over," says Bragman. "Unless there's some sort of conspiracy or something that comes out that was an attempt to pain him, I don't know that this one will blow over. It's not a DUI, it's not a one-time deal, or a moment. This was seemingly a lifestyle for a long time."

Bragman clarifies "we don't know what happened," but says he is suspicious because "even since it started coming out, so many women have started coming forward with nothing to gain out of it. If they were people who had something to gain and were going to file civil suits, you say, 'okay, I see some motivation' and I see that all the time against celebrities. What you don't see is people with nothing to gain coming forward, that's the unusual part of this."

I think Cars is really a self-loathing 20-something black dude from the LBC who's been working the "right-wing, stubborn, retired, loveable old white-dude" troll on us for years.

And it worked too, until the Bill Cosby conundrum sent him into a tail spin and cracked his cover.

That, and the liquor cabinet.

Here is my final thought (on Cosby), sexual predators do not stop their behaviors until they die. IMO, we could probably find recent incidents of his criminal behavior. Yes, his career has been destroyed, but if only some DNA had been properly obtained, stored, and tested, he could be serving time right now; thus,
he got off easy. He should just go away and disappear and quit his sanctimonious preaching to others. Cosby's wife knew, but chose to stay in relationship for reasons only known to her. Anyone who drugs, rapes, and used his fame to get by with his criminal behavior, deserves to be locked up (IMO). We all know rape is not about the sex, but about the power and control. Thank God, he has lost some of that ..finally. He is scum of the earth and I feel this way about all sexual predators so I am not discriminating. Growing old does not stop these people from offending.
I basically agree with everything that Hair has written on this subject. Thanks, Hair for all of the research you contribute to the Forum.
