Is it lying when you're asked "how are you" and you reply "fine, thanks", when you're not fine? Can that really be considered a lie? I do that frequently, I always respond with fine, thanks no matter how I feel.

Sometimes I say "Pretty shitty, and stop trying to dumb me down with your idiot prattle"

Here's the thing, if you answer honestly and say "sucky but thanks for asking", then people want to know what's going on and fuck all if I want to share my personal bs with anyone. I'm just not one of those people who shares that kinda stuff. I could have a death in my family and most people would never even know.

I ALWAYS say I'm fine. Most of the time I'd rather not talk about it if I'm not fine. Especially with people I don't know well. I think most people are that way.

Duch and Rams, I give people the option if they want to share, I'm there. I am good at that stuff. I make the girl at the checkout at the supermarket feel better, or the people at McDonalds feel great. That's who I am, I feel it is expected of me. When friends come out with me and my clan they say it's an adventure. I look like a musician (if I am not having a troll day), I drive a rock star car (although my old car station wagon was rocking for me too), it's good to be kind and nice to people and give them the time of day. It makes them smile and feel good about themselves. That is what life is about. Connecting, and connection. You both have something to offer others too, in a different way. There is nothing special about me, we all have it.

I just try to be myself and let others be themselves. I don't try to change them or how they are feeling. I may make people laugh at times but if someone is feeling shitty I let them feel shitty. It sucks and I feel powerless, but I hate it when someone tries to "cheer me up" as if they can't handle that I had a bad day, or that I just want to feel down or work through whatever I am feeling.

I knew a pathological liar.. Basically a nice person. Lied about things that made no sense. When he went to the grocery store, he would say he went to Kroger when he actually went to Foodtown. For the most part, his lies were harmless. Like, who gives a shit !!

Yeah, take note of aussie's uplifting example Duchess and rams. You too can be meddling saints, if you try.

You're one hell of a woman, aussie. Young and strong and tame. Wild and warm and tender.

Thank you for connecting with me, aussie. Your post made me smile and feel good about myself, even though I only drive a pick-up.

Furthermore, you set a great example and make me wanna be a better woman.

Today, I will cheerfully strive to improve the moods and self-esteems of those working the registers at Safeway, Office Depot, and the Kaiser pharmacy.

And, you say there's nothing special about you!? Pffft. Liar

Mac Davis does that to people I've had verbal battles (and mental) with people over "Lay Lady Lay" and who wrote, sang, and got laid to it.
