Trump for president
If it was an uncomfortable prodding experience for or between any of the panelists (including PitBull), I didn't sense it at all and enjoyed the episode a lot.

Trumps numbers are going back up............these polls are so lame. I never answer any of them and only people that have no life sit there and reply to them over the phone.

I saw that Rasmussen had Trump up by 2 in a 4-way national race, but all the other non-outlier polls have Clinton with a strong lead. Fox's just-released poll has him down by 7 nationally.

I'm watching the swing states these days, especially Florida. Clinton's up by a couple of points in Florida now and has been consistently up by several points in other electoral-rich swing states like Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Ohio is neck and neck. President Obama just finished up a rally speech there. He made a point of telling people not to stay home on election day due to the false assumption that Clinton will win (or Trump will lose) without them.

Poll leads don't mean anything if people don't vote. Some pundits are theorizing that Trump's campaign's strategy now is to give up trying to expand his voter base and instead focus on suppressing the general vote. He's toast with women (even college-educated women whom he once led with and who've always been a Republican voter group) and virtually everyone but white men.

The theory is that Trump might be able to win despite having less support than Clinton if he riles up his core base (who'll get out and vote for him no matter what) and disgusts Independents and less-passionate voters with both candidates and the process/system enough that they just say 'fuck this shit' and refuse to vote. Clinton's surrogates/supporters, notably the Obamas, are working hard to counter-act that possibility and motivate high voter turn-out.

The third and final debate is on Wednesday, 19 October and there are only 24 days left til the election.

My mailbox is clear, but I'm anxious for this shit show to end too.

This election is now more like the sexual assault trial of Donald Trump, with women coming forward left and right and Trump spending most of his speech time acting as his own defense attorney. He keeps issuing in-depth denials and implying that he's obviously innocent because the women aren't good-looking enough for him. Bragging about having the power to commit sexual assault and get away with it is so very stupid and weird. Whether all, some, or none of these women are legit, Trump's big mouth and big ego opened the door.

Melania Trump is not making any appearances or defending her husband against the allegations. She only issued a statement, shortly after the tape was leaked, saying that the words on the tape don't reflect the man she knows and she believes he has the heart and mind to be President (my paraphrase).

Trump did take a few minutes today to tell his rally audience that he'll give voters lower taxes whereas Hillary Clinton will raise taxes (which is only true for the wealthy), that he wants to close the borders whereas Hillary Clinton wan'ts open borders and free trade (that's something she references as a dream during a hacked/leaked Wall Street speech), and he talked about how Hillary Clinton claimed the equivalent of she 'couldn't recall' 21 times during her testimony in regards to her private email server (which is 100% accurate).

For her part, Clinton went on the Ellen show yesterday and talked about how Trump 'stalked her' on the debate stage last Sunday. I didn't see it that way at all and think that's bullshit. She also outlined a new child care tax credit increase and spoke about climate change earlier in the week, which I was glad to see. Currently, she's doing fund-raising while her surrogates campaign on her behalf. She's got a strong lead over Trump now and I believe it's probably smart of her to lay low and let Trump keep digging, which allows her to avoid answering questions about the content of the illegally obtained/leaked DNC and Clinton campaign emails.

Meanwhile, U.S. Intelligence officers are pointing the finger straight at Russian hackers for the stolen emails fed to Julian Assange of Wikileaks. And, former US Intelligence officials are going further and directly accusing the Russian government of attempting to influence the U.S. Presidential election in favor of Trump (true or not, it's no longer hard for me to believe).

These are some effin' surreal and dumbed-down days, in my opinion.

I have issues with the emails. Instead of owning her shit,. She's blaming the Russians. Piss poor accountability on her part.

Shade,. Shade everywhere.

Trump had been running around denying the Russian hacking even after having been told it was Russia in his national security briefings. It got to the point where those that had briefed him choose to come out and publicly say he was being disingenuous.

There's a phrase describing what so many Republicans are doing in regards to Trump. Condemndorse. Funny, not funny. 78

It is with a heavy heart that I condemn the actions of GOP presidential nominee Donald J. Trump, and I encourage you to vote for him on November 8.

As the allegations of sexual assault pile up, my conscience will not allow me to support the man I plan to vote for. No woman should ever live in fear of someone like Donald Trump, who is going to Make America Great Again.

Four more years with a Democrat in the White House could mean the destruction of our great nation, and it can only be prevented by electing the man I repudiate in the strongest possible terms.

Donald Trump is a disgrace to the Republican Party and to the United States of America, and I hope you’ll join me in supporting him on Election Day!

It will be tough for Trump to win with no voter I.D. laws in place. I have to show my drivers license as it should be military ID or State id works too. Not so in quite a few liberal states and I don't know why.

Trump was in NH today. He thinks Hillary was on some kind of drug at the last debate, and wants both he & her tested before the next debate.

He's implying she uses performance enhancing drugs. 28

Sorry cannongal and Duchess, I missed the ^ last two posts when I posted about that in the Hillary thread. It's so stupid that it's funny. A woman outperforms Trump and it must be due to enhancing drugs.

If Donald Trump loses, I don't think it will have anything to do with the huge mythical problem of voter fraud, nor will it be because the system is supposedly rigged, nor will it be because of the media, Mags. Those are Trump's excuses, but they aren't logical, in my opinion.

The system hasn't changed much since Nixon, Reagan, Bush and Bush were elected, except for there being more GOP-driven restrictive voter laws in the majority of states, making it harder for citizens who don't have a driver license or photo ID to vote. And, by far the most-viewed cable news network, FOX, along with very high-traffic internet media sites like Drudge and Breitbart, are unabashedly pro-Trump (he's even got their gurus on his campaign/advisory staff).

If Donald Trump loses, it will be because what he's said and done and the way he's said and done it has alienated a majority of voters in all demographics except for senior citizens and white men. And, even with white men, he's pulling in a smaller percentage of those with college educations than the Republican candidates before him.

To make things worse for the GOP, their goal of adjusting their message and policies to attract more women, more young people, and more minorities (which is what Paul Ryan and company had been working on) has been seriously harshed, for now, by Donald Trump's candidacy. He's not only failed to expand Republican support with those voter groups, he's managed to push the existing share down.

A political party which has almost exclusively catered to and relied upon white men, evangelicals (and Mormons), and the wealthy will be challenged to win a presidential election when nationally women outnumber men, white men are a decreasing portion of the population, the portion of the population identifying with organized religions is decreasing, there are far more poor and middle income people than there are wealthy people (and the power of wealth on politics is being strongly pushed back on), and the number of young people of voting age has surpassed the number of old people.

When the Republican candidate is less qualified and more alienating than those before him, the victory challenge for the party is greatly intensified, especially if voter turn-out across all demographics is high. In my humble opinion.

I think the Democratic Party needs to make some changes from its established ways too if it wants to maintain a strong party-affiliated base at a time when the number of Independents has surpassed the number of people committed to either party. I won't be surprised if an Independent candidate or a third party candidate has a real chance at being elected in 2020 or 2024.

Every 4 years, the party that loses blames voter fraud & rigged elections. It wouldn't surprise me if Trump took a page out of Al Gore's playbook. Recounts, recounts everywhere!

I have not heard the losing presidential candidate blame 'rigged system' or 'voter fraud' every four years, cannongal. I can't recall ever hearing that claim actually.

The vote was so close in Gore vs. Bush and there were legitimate concerns about whether the voter choice marked on crappily formatted Florida ballots actually got counted as a vote for another candidate (which could have changed the national election outcome given the tiny margin by which Bush was declared the victor).

Gore didn't claim voter fraud or rigged system, IIRC. He and the DNC pushed for a recount in effected Florida districts to confirm the votes allocated to each candidate matched the voters' selections. Gore and the DNC primarily blamed the economy and the Ralph Nader voters after giving up the recount push just a couple of weeks after election day.

But, I won't be surprised if you're right and Trump demands recounts, all over the country, even if he loses by a wider margin than McCain and Romney did. That would allow him to position himself as a victim rather than a loser, and it could enable him to carry a sizable group of disgruntled Trump loyalists with him as customers for his next branding/power/business endeavor.

Holy shit. I don't know what I think about this. It sorta bothers my sense of fair play. Ugh. Smiley_emoticons_slash

Larry Flynt, the man behind Hustler Magazine and Hustler clubs, announced Monday that he is offering an up to $1-million bounty for any "scandalous" clips of Republican nominee Donald Trump.

Specifically, Flynt is seeking "verifiable video footage or audio recordings for use prior to the November 8 election clearly showing Donald Trump engaging in illegal activity or acting in a sexually demeaning or derogatory manner." Hustler will pay the clip's provider if the company uses it in any way, a Monday news release said.

"I have always celebrated women. Women in all shapes and sizes. To treat a woman like Mr. Trump himself has is both disappointing and unbelievable, especially coming from someone who wants to be our President," Flynt said in a statement that explained that the pornography-peddling businessman took offense at Trump's claims of respect for women.
