Some of his ramblings at a small business round table at the White House today.  Yes, he really said all of this.

My God. *sigh*

I sometimes wonder what is going to be said about him once he's out of office. Not by people like us but by those who tried to work with him, by other world leaders, people like that.

It's pretty clear that other world leaders think he's a blithering idiot.

I just read that again. As with so much of what he says, I find it both hilarious & horrifying.

But it is so refreshing! A real man! Not a politician!
(And those same people accuse Pelosi of not being able to communicate clearly)

Yes, refreshing

He's right about the new bulbs costing more but I bet he doesn't know they can last for years and end up saving quite a bit of money.

It's like health-care-for-all. Yeah, your taxes will go up but you won't be forking over money for insurance premiums. You end up saving in the end. I don't know why this is so hard to understand.

The goddamn bulbs suck, they don't last like they used to back in the good old days. That's a crock of shit.

I don't know what cheap-ass bulbs you're buying Sal, but invest a few of those tax dollars you're expecting to save in LEDs or energy-efficient bulbs.

I use them in everything but the chandeliers and exposed decorative lighting.

They definitely last a lot longer than the bulbs from the 'good old days'.

Light bulbs could last forever, they are made to fail. The industry knows that, they would be out of business if they didn't.

The steel industry is now going strong as I've said before the U.S. is opening new plants and not relying on China steel. For the past 5 years any government funded project HAS to use American made steel. I was paying .86 cents a pound when Trump did the tariffs. The American steel smelters combated this by opening new ones and old ones now I pay .58 cents a pound and it's dropping.

How could this be a bad thing? The impeachment mess will bite the Dems hard in the ass, reality will set in and it will be a circus, bigger than the circus they just performed. Mark my words on this day 12/07/19

Yes and have a Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas. I'm not a big believer in reality. Bye bye Trump. Worst president in the universe.

The bulbs are no better and neither are the stupid energy efficient and water saving appliances they push on you morons. I dont want to pay 2000 dollars to wash my clothes in 2 inches of water, but guess what, now I have no other choice because that's the way everything is made now. I'm glad my clothes smell like shit so I could save a drop of water. Meanwhile all the politicians are flying their personal jets daily and we dump thousands of pounds of garbage in the sea, but God forbid I have a regular old light bulb.

You and roo have both made sarcastic remarks about the taxes I've said that I saved between Obama and Trump. Do you think I'm making it up? Should I not care about 40 grand difference per year, do you think I'm lying? What? I don't understand?

It wasn't meant to be a sarcastic remark and I don't think you're lying Sal. I know that some people, including you, are expected to pay less total annual taxes for several years and some will be paying more (largely dependent on income levels and geography).

I guess I mentioned saved tax dollars in my post because it stuck in my head when you made a couple of comments about how discovering that you'll be paying less taxes meant you'd be backing Trump and the Republicans from there on out, regardless of other issues, and that Obama had been fucking you in the ass for years.

Why does it bother you that I'd remember and reference what you said regarding your political preferences/priorities in the Politics forum?
