I am reminded of all the "RELIABLE" intelligence about Weapons of Mass Destruction that resulted in war. My conclusion is that those in power have an agenda and pick and choose and direct the public's attention to that end. It matters not what the truth is. Makes me question 911, The "New Pearl Harbor"

The Iraq WMD bullshit was not a result of intelligence agencies.

It was W Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and later some cabinet members who ignored U.S., British, UN, and EU intelligence reports stating that there was no evidence Hussein had WMDs and that he was not connected to al Qaeda. The Bush administration ignored intelligence findings and created false/contradictory intel in order to justify going after Hussein.

The top tier of the Bush administration went so far as to authorize torture to get captives to claim Hussein had WMDs so the Bush administration could use the quotes in their war-marketing pitch. They also used the debunked claims of a defector.

The intelligence agencies were telling the truth and the administration was lying about it. In that regard only, I can see how the current administration's rhetoric on Russian interference is comparable to the Bush administration's Iraq WMD rhetoric.

Russia, China, Iran, all of them were attempting to affect the election. Mexico, Saudi Arabia, they also lobbied and tried to influence the election as we the U.S.A. tried to influence the Israel elections and the Russian elections, France, Germany. This is a game being played and the American citizens are the players. Russian influence and American influence has been going on for many years and I do not believe that the Russians had enough influence to sway the 2016 election. Not a chance.

I do have to say Trump was an idiot for running his mouth like he did.

I think Trump can do some things right. Most of his detractors acknowledge that too, at least the ones I hear.

The problem for Trump's defensive devotees is that rational people don't believe he can do no wrong, and won't conform to their fantasy that fiction is fact if it's spouted by President Trump.

Those devotees fiercely defend Trump's obvious lies as truth. They declare Trump's absolute wrongs as rights, or as justified, or as someone else's fault.

When all that fails, they deflect or mimic Trump and pull out the persecuted victim card, "you HATE Trump; he can't don't do anything right to you!"

Or,...........they just label accurate negative reports about Trump as "fake news!", even when those reports are based word-for-word on what Trump himself said on tape.

^ On a related note, Trump just put a spin on that last tired strategy today -- admitting that what he called 'fake news' yesterday was actually 'real news', BUT that the reports were still not accurate.

He did so during his attempt to walk back what he said yesterday in Helsinki on stage with Putin, after receiving heavy criticism from security officials and his staunchest party supporters.

You see, according to Trump today..........when he said yesterday that he didn't see why Russia WOULD have interfered in the U.S. election, he meant to say that he didn't see why Russia WOULDN'T have interfered in the U.S. election. Seriously.

That's unbelievable. The fact that I find it unbelievable doesn't mean "Trump can't do anything right" in my eyes. His 'wrong word' claim today simply makes no sense in the context of everything else he said on the subject yesterday; everything that made it clear he said what he meant in the first place.

I just read Sarah Sanders' reply to a reporter's question about it. She essentially said that the President IS considering it. I really hope she misspoke and meant to say he ISN'T considering it, which will be tomorrow's version of her answer, if recent history repeats. ')

If I understand correctly, McFaul was part of the 'incredible offer' Trump said Putin made in Helsinki. Putin said that he would hand over the indicted Russian operatives in exchange for Trump letting Russia interrogate former American officials whom Putin dislikes, including McFaul, even though those American officials are guilty only of doing their jobs and are accused of no crimes.

"Incredible offer' is right.............incredibly brazen, self-serving, and dangerous for all foreign diplomats if Trump were to take the offer. In my opinion, Trump would have a slew of resignations from diplomats, intelligence officials, and defense officials if he attempted to go there.

Sanders, speaking on behalf of President Trump, should have quickly and strongly answered the reporter's question by saying that it wasn't being considered and wasn't going to happen. Amateur hour..........again.

HotD, this administration is going to attempt to revoke California's authority to regulate emissions & it's mandate for electric cars. How do people there feel about this? Can they even do that? How the hell do they get to come into a state and tell them how to run it?
