THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY

That's the same as saying that stopping the flow of illegal immigration across the border is racism. Or the deportation of illegal's is racist which is also horseshit.

It's not really the same.  But, I understand what you're saying and agree.

Policies which aim to stop the flow of illegal immigration and facilitate the deportation of those who entered the country illegally are not inherently 'racist'.

They would become 'racist' policies if they targeted only illegal immigration by people of a certain race(s).

I get pissed at people like that asshole illegal in boston that just got sent up. he was arrested before and the judges gave him 364 days in the slammer so he would not get deported then he went on to kill 2 legal working immigrants by slashing their throats. he was set loose by the judges when if he was an American citizen he would of gotten years.

he said to the dead victims family as he walked out the door "Do you want to know their last words?"     it's pathetic. So yeah I am bias against illegals.

If i get arrested all I want is to be treated like an illegal to get a lighter sentence.

In reference to posts 5098 - 5100 upthread...

Turns out, the Executive Order signed by Trump yesterday did not classify "Jewish" as a nationality.

I don't know if that's because of backlash from Americans who practice Judaism following the advance reporting which cited White House officials..........or if the officials and/or reporters didn't have the facts straight.

In either case, I'm glad such a bizarre and inappropriate action was not taken, though I don't see that the actual Executive Order accomplishes anything.

The EO simply states that to the extent that Jews are discriminated against for ethnic, racial or national characteristics, they are entitled to protection by the anti-discrimination law, which already applied to all Americans anyway.

That was the media that botched that ...........don't worry they will not apologize or retract it. Their job is done making Trump look bad to the unwashed masses. it happens quite a bit. I'm getting used to it.

Where did you see it confirmed that the media botched it?   I haven't seen that.

I did see that the NY Times ran an editorial piece by Jared Kushner regarding the then-pending Executive Order yesterday. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/12/11/opini...itism.html

In it, he says that many people reacted negatively to announcement of the EO because they didn't understand it.  He doesn't specify whether those people were sources inside the government, outside of it, or both.

(As for your claims about the media's job and the 'unwashed masses', I know those are just your oft-repeated opinions, so I'm not looking for any confirmation on that front).

The media reported that trump signed the order without them realizing what he was signing, how else does a thing like that go out?

"When news of the impending executive order leaked, many rushed to criticize it without understanding its purpose. The executive order does not define Jews as a nationality. It merely says that to the extent that Jews are discriminated against for ethnic, racial or national characteristics, they are entitled to protection by the anti-discrimination law."

The thing with this administration is that they are known for floating "trial balloons" in order to judge public reaction and depending on how it plays out plays a role in what their finished product looks like. That's a fact and something they have done since day one. It doesn't help them a bit that their reputation is one of being lying, disingenuous cocksuckas.

No, the media reported that administration sources had indicated Trump would be signing an Executive Order which would classify "Jewish" as a national origin.

Maybe the officials were wrong or didn't have the latest draft.  Maybe the media got it wrong.  Maybe both.

I still don't know because the portion of Kushner's op-ed that you quoted doesn't confirm your insistence that the media botched it.

Here's a CSPAN video of Lindsey Graham nervously asking if he might have been recorded talking to a Russian diplomat.

Yesterday the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear Trump's appeals of lower court orders, now on hold, that require his banks and accountants to turn over financial records to the House and local prosecutors in New York.

The cases could yield major rulings on the power of the House to demand records for its investigations and the authority of a president to resist such demands.

By granting review now, the justices made it possible for these cases to be heard during the current court term, in March, with a decision by the end of June, just as the 2020 general election heats up.
