MARTHA? MARTHA, WHERE ARE YOU?
#1

I'm having a "moment" here. 50

Does everyone have a traditional Thanksgiving? Do you host it or go to family/friends home? Do you look forward to the holidays or is it just another chore to get through?

i REALLY like doing the cooking~~~and have done the whole deal for many years. ONE time i went to a relative's for Thanksgiving and the turkey was bloody raw. that was the last time. i like my own traditional cooking. and my sons LOVE my turkey so it makes me happy to do it for them.

We always have a traditional TG. We eat at my Mom's and I help her with the cooking. When I first got divorced, we had to share the holidays so every other year the ex got the boys. We would do our TG on Friday then since I am always off that day. Now the boys are always with me so we do it at my Mom's. My brother and neice Leah are coming up so that will be fun!!

I have to admit I do miss the big huge TG we would have when I was married. Both our families would get together and it would be fun. I don't miss the ex, just his family. LOL

Hah. I am the sous chef, I do the peeling, chopping, slicing stuff. I never do any of the actual cooking, I'm too easily distracted & that's exactly what happens every time. I do other things to help like set a pretty table & pour wine. Awink

By "Traditional" do you mean: "Emaciated white people enjoying food with Native Americans"?

Out West, we call that "Senior Day at the Casino".

Had a sort of traditional one last year..it was a bust. Invited several friends...only ONE showed up. One of them even called off that morning.
But the turkey turned out great.
This year, it depends. If we get invited out..we will go. But his Daughter in law has a traditional German meal for thanksgiving. What is up with that? A Thanksgiving without a turkey is just not right.

We always do a traditional one. It varies each year as to where, and who will be doing the cooking.

Duchess, I would like to cook Thanksgiving dinner in YOUR kitchen this year. I am a fabulous cook, and I will even clean up. (and use both diswashers)

Your kitchen fucking rocks. I used to love mine. Really. Now I look at it and think of yours. For fucks sake. Did you design it yourself? It is just perfection. Seriously.

I like design & I like projects. As I leaf through magazines & come across stuff I like, I tear the page out & add it to many previous pages I've torn out. My kitchen is the end result of that. It's nothing more than bits & pieces of many different kitchens designs.
