Johnny S. Clarke & Lisa Straub- young Ohio couple murdered
I always was suspicious of Tiffany. Maytee was suspicious as well ..You set up my son....I still think that Maytee knew her son was dealing and the drugs (perqs) she supplied, of course in my opinion. This is why she was so worried at the beginning. ...ALLL THIS IS JUST OPINION and maybe I have an active imagination but somehow I believe we will find out the Maytee has a script for perqs and her prescription was filled that very same day... IMO

Lisa's parents must have been horrified that she was dating someone like him. What a nightmare this must be for them.

I've been to the funeral of a murder victim (someone's only child) and it was ghastly.

Something I noticed in all of Lisa's photos was that she was so damn cute. It's just inconceivable that she died like that.

Do you happen to know anything about her relationship with Johnny, like what Lisa's parents thought of him? How about her previous boyfriend?

jeff and marybeth (lisa's parent's) did not like him and they did not like lisa's behavior and recent choices. they had been trying to talk to her to no avail. he was living there to get away from his psycho mom. her previous bf BD broke into Lisa's home to find her and they had a tpo on him

Wow! Was BD's breaking in recent or before he went to jail?

Hi Kitty Smiley_emoticons_smile Just wondering, if Lisas parents didn't like JC & were trying to talk to her about getting away from him, why would they allow him to stay there at their home? Reguardless of how psycho mom is/was, kinda seems counter productive to tell someone to leave their bf & then allow bf to move in. Did they think they could better control the situation if he were closer since you say to no avail would she leave him?

I met Lisa when I was a freshman in high school. She truly was the girl that I wanted to be. She was bold, had many friends, she was very pretty, and was known as a bit of a party girl.
Though I lost contact with her over the years, she wasnt completely out of my life, as she lived with one of my best friends up until November/December. (I wanna say late November but I'm not certain)
So Lisa was living with my good friend, E. They had been best friends since grade school and got an apartment together. E soon came to have problems with Johnny, who, as many have speculated, was a sketchy drug dealer. Maytee was very, very wrong when she said her son had no enemies.
E often complained about Johnny showing up at the apartment, uninvited, even when Lisa wasn't home, often bringing his "sketchy" friends. Eventually, she told Lisa that Johnny wasn't allowed over anymore.
There was an incident which resulted in the two girls terminating their lease, which is when Lisa returned to live with her parents in Holland. Johnny had showed up, though not allowed. Somehow an argument broke out between him and E. She told him he needed to leave and he punched her in the stomach. Now E is a 100 pound girl, but she said that he punched her so hard that it took her a minute to be able to steady herself and catch her breath. Johnny then left, the girls put the chain lock on, and he tried to get back in. When he gave up, he slammed the door so hard that it jammed into the frame, and E's dad had to come take it off the hinges in order to let them out of the apartment.
Love Lisa, but she stood up for Johnny and E couldn't hang with it anymore, so they broke off their lease.

E isn't the only one of Lisa's friends that didn't want to be around Johnny. From what it seems of my friends that remained in contact with her, most of the people she hung out with were his friends. Alot of her more "tactful" friends didn't want to see her when he was around. And he came around whenever he pleased.

Thanks for your insight.

If I am not mistaken, they are Civil Protection Orders in Ohio and are issued through the County Common Pleas Court. A search of Docket does not show a CPO issued in favor of the Straubs.

Just catching up on recent posts so sorry for all the comments lol

Why are percocets being named as the drug JC was supposedly dealing or getting from Maytee to deal? Scales were mentioned in the evidence list. Drug dealers selling pills, like percocet, do not weigh them so I'm guessing here that percs were not the drug or atleast not the only drug being sold, if there were drugs involved.

i think so. they were very lenient with the girls, esp. lisa i think they thought she was safer at home than living on her own. trust me these are church going, well educated parents. i know it is difficult for outsiders to comprehend how they would let him stay there. i just can't explain it to anyone's satisfaction. children can be master manipulators to get what they want, especially those in late teens and early 20's. people using, abusing and addicted to drugs and alcohol are absolute masters of manipulation to get what they want.

Reply
@ Kitty, I can certainly understand that. I have alot of drug/alcohol addiction in my family. I'm deeply sorry for your families loss & am not putting blame on anyone but the murderers, whomever they happen to be. I'm sure in hindsight everyone involved in this situation, Lisa, her parents, Johnny & his, would have made different choices.

Thanks again for your insight, Kitty.

It's a tough call for parents in that situation. I've known parents in a similar situation where the daughter was involved with a creep. The parents knew they couldn't forbid the daughter to see him - well, they could, but they knew she'd sneak off with him anyway. So they invited him to dinner a lot to kind of keep an eye on things. The daughter dropped him after a while - later the daughter said it was seeing the boyfriend next to her siblings and their friends in the family's home made her realize that this wasn't the kind of person she wanted to be with.

I'm sure the parents are feeling guilty about what happened. But, IMO, even if Johnny hadn't been living there, he very likely would have been there when the parents were gone, whether the parents wanted him there or not.

Reply
It is easy to explain, they loved their daughter!

And I would bet having her where they could at see how she was doing was very important to them, even if it meant having the BF there too, and if what allieayy wrote is true, LS had just lost an apartment (Nov/Dec) with one friend due JC's behavior. As parents, sometimes with adult children we put up with what we would not put up with if they were under age. I think if your a parent of an adult child, a daughter especially, you'll understand.
