Johnny S. Clarke & Lisa Straub- young Ohio couple murdered
Hi all-
I am a new poster and have never, ever, joined a thread before-so go easy on meSmiley_emoticons_smile. At first appearance this site seemed a little "scary" for the average curious web "nosey". But to be honest- I have been EXTREMELY impressed with the moderators, the respect the posters have for each other, and even the "fairness" provided to everyone with ALL perspectives. I have always tried my hardest to maintain an OPEN mind- but i assumed a thread like this could never exist because the "open" format might encourage pointless "crazies" to simply sabotage any real thought- but WOW- I am so impressed with the HONESTY and RESPECT you all allow each other's opinions-and the "crazies" are simply directed to a more appropriate thread Smiley_emoticons_smile! (Even the "loons" are valued-they are allowed to rant in an appropriate forum-that's a lesson of true tolerance that our kids could benefit from!)
Anyhow-Like I said-I have been following this case and for some reason it has really bothered me from the beginning. I have absolutely no personal connection to any of the victims, but no matter how "normal" I consider myself (haha) I can't help but relate to the vulnerability and chaos these two families must be feeling. Lisa and Johnny were SO VERY human-flawed but desperately loved, and for some odd reason I feel like "paying attention" assures justice.
One quick question- The T person involved in this- she claimed in the 911 call that she was expecting a ride from Johnny- but she realized she needed to run the store FIRST, so she called Johnny to ask if he could wait a bit before picking her up. It just occurred to me, how'd she get the store? According to T, she had to wait until her friend's mom (?) came home to borrow her car to check on Johnny and Lisa after the disturbance. Is there a store within walking distance of “T’s” home? I wonder why “T” wouldn't have just ask Johnny and Lisa to make a quick stop at a nearby store instead of walking and then coming back to be picked up? Not sure if I even understand the claim T is making about why she wanted Johhny to wait before coming?

I have no idea where I saw/heard it now though.

Tiffany said "bro" in the 911 call where Maytee handed the phone to Tiffany to talk to the operator.

You could create a junk email, just to register at FB, and use a phony name. If you don't want your IP involved, use a proxy. Just use the acct to follow cases like this. FB can only data mine what you give them.

Yes, it was.

I wonder why her mind went there.

My son has called from parties and there was raucous noise and
his phone went dead and I never once thought to think he was
'abducted' or 'tied up.' (and those are quotes)

Granted he caught hell when he came home for being
disrespectful, but never once did my mind go to him being
tied up or kidnapped.

I say Maytell KNEW SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is MORE TO HER STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again.......

According to info she recieved on the FIRST phone call from Sarita/Sharita & then from Tiffany

Tiffany heard Johnny say things like "Who are you Bro" "What do you want" "What are you doing here" this also (possibly) included Johnny yelling & then his phone went dead

Tiffany then claims to Johnnys mother that she tried to call & text both Johnny & Lisa numerous times with no response.

Tiffany then claims that she drives over & gets no answer at the door

HOWEVER: The car used by Johnny & Lisa is there.

Put 2 & 2 together. I could see why Maytee would use the word abduction. Their car is there but they are unable to be reached by phone, text, or ringing of the door bell/knocking at the door when the last known contact that is known to be had is something that sounds like a confrontation & not a friendly greeting.

For those that think Maytee knows more than she's letting on (Which reading her postings on FB, it doesn't seem that she's one for keeping her mouth shut) I ask, What does Maytee have to gain in keeping anything a secret or setting up her son as some have alluded to?

Just curious because I don't get that feeling at all.

very interesting i never picked that up!!! I know alot of people are still asking - Why did she need a ride when she had transportation? (she drove to house later to check on LS & JC) she didn't have transportation initially as u said. She stated that she had to wait for friend's mom to get home so she could go check on them (so it sounds like she used friend's mom's car) As far as how did she get to the store - I think she probably walked. I know the street she lives on and that area of town. There are plenty of corner carry outs if she neeed beer or cigs or papers. But who would walk to store in such cold temperatures while pregnant when u could just wait 20 minutes for a ride??? she did say "run to the store" i believe. That's not the language i would use if I was going to walk. I know that i could wait 20 min for a smoke unless i was under influence of opiates (which i was after surgery) smoked liked crazy and wanted one "now"

Welcome...this is a great board that's why I stayed, I think you'll like it here!

Everyone thinks the story T is telling is pretty sketchy and when you listen to her on the 911 call, it's pretty obvious that she is making it up as she goes along. JMO

I will never understand why someone would aspire to be looked upon as a gangster. Am I missing something here? Why in hell would a reputation like that be considered cool? Gangsters are not respected or thought well of yet, someone wants to be looked at as "gangsta" & does what they can to enforce they be taken as such. Jesus Christ.

That's a thought that probably many people on this board share. I am a sociologist - my focus is on education, more specifically how college can serve as a way to better one's socioeconomic life prospects. But I've done a lot of reading and research on growing up in a lower class social context and how education can intervene to improve these circumstances (which is obviously a tough if not impossible task). In some environments, the reality is quite different from mainstream society in terms of acceptable behaviors and norms as well as what's respected (i.e., "gangsta" attitudes). Also, people feel so powerless to escape their circumstances, acting tough is a way to exert individual control despite the fact that it often leads to self-destruction. A very readable book on this is "Gang Leader for a Day" by Sudhir Venkatesh.

It's been said earlier on this board, but I think a lot of the interest in this case is fueled by the intersection of this "gangsta" culture with, at least from outside appearances, a very mainstream household and a cute normal seeming upper middle class white family. It's jarring for many who live in the suburbs to see this culture and its ramifications move into their boundaries.

Yes, it is. It's even more alarming and infuriating when you go down the social engineering rabbit hole and discover that this in not an organic sociological evolution but one that one has been manipulated by people who are not a part of this (gangster) culture whose objective is the destruction of America. To undermine a nation you must debase it's moral and social foundation.

Most of those in attendance appeared to me in their 20s, and many were visibly shaken - even young guys were crying. It was pretty much standing room only and it was obvious that JC had many friends.

There were no outbursts or any "'circus"-type behaviors; mostly a pretty dignified service. Maytee was obviously in emotional pain, and spent most if not all of the service kneeling at the casket of her son. There was another, older woman who seemed to be having a hard time; not sure who she was. Perhaps a grandmother?

LE was onhand as well, and provided a police escort to the cemetary, which surprised me. There was to be a reception at a nearby church after the burial from noon-3, according to the printed program.

Thanks for the report Tim. JC seemed very well loved by many seemingly responsible kids. Many people overcome their beginnings. Unfortunately, we'll never know what could have been.

I just think she is HINKY! Someone on another forum used that word to describe her and I just loved it. He said his hinky meter goes off in regards to Maytee. Why does she say to Tiff on 2nd 911 call " I think you set up my son"? Set him up for what? If she doesn't know that they are bound and dead yet what is she referring to? Yes I agree that a mother's intuition can often be correct but I just think her first 911 call is overly dramatic and she just sounds to me as if she already knows that "the robbery went horribly wrong" He was not the mama's boy she claims he was. She has kicked him out of her house and he wanted to get away from her and her entire "psycho" entourage.

I think she overestimated her "psychic" ability. I wouldn't put much stake in her worry. She knew her son always answered his phone. She knew that that there was a disturbance when he was on his phone with a friend. She believed they were not home after police checked, thus her fear they were kidnapped or ?

She was freaked because the police were not responding appropriately to legitimate concerns. As others noted, there were no footprints in the snow. What does this tell us about the job police did or did not do?

Any funeral I have been to in the area always has police escort.
Usually they are paid by the Funeral Home. I honestly do not
think I have ever been to a funeral that did not have the escort.
Sometimes they even stop traffic to allow the procession to
pass in one long line.

Has anyone scanned in the funeral program?

That's a very good point about "running" to the store when she could have waited for a ride.

I think there's a good chance that Tiffany is a bag, fat, lair, so that needs to be considered when analyzing anything she's said. I suspect her story contains elements of the truth, heavily interspersed with bullshit cooked up to create her alibi or to throw the cops off.

I bet she had a bit of cursory information from Sharita or ? about T's background and the fact that she tends to end up with the people around her, dead.
