Maybe all of us in Toledo or from Toledo should post as our facebook status' asking if anyone knows anything about it. Maybe some new insiders will pop up (that we actually know)?

I wouldnt...why cast a shadow over you or put yourself in danger?

I was thinking something like, "anyone heard about this case or if it's been solved yet?"
I don't know. I haven't taken this to facebook yet and you know there are people in Toledo that know people.
And one thing about Toledo...PEOPLE TALK.
Big mouths there, lol.

LMAO guess its the same everywhere...people talk here too..alot. LOL

I bet this case gets solved because of someone running their mouth.

I would bet real money, that youre right.

Blatant or covert it dosen't matter to me,in fact its why I am here
Mocking is the quintesential kernel of the essence of "The Mock Forum".
Thou protest too much....

I never said there were recent arrests. I said there were arrests mid-February that are quite possibly related to this case. The guys were in hiding already from previous crimes but its not a stretch that they came back to Toledo to take care of unfinished business. They were arrested mid-February in a raid in Kansas. Here are some of BC's comments in the few days before the murders. He talks about snitching and standing up for his Southside boys : " no mercy no matter what or who n im there fucc tha police" "play wit me n get wat ur lookin 4" "fucc tha police i ride 4 my niggaz south side no fakes stay away from my peoples n talk in front of tha rite ones cuzz they gunna get ya'll talkin crazy serious shit. they waitin n im there! sssshhhhhhhhhhhhh!" " this is 2 my baby girl skyla luv u 4 eva no matter wat happens!" After the murders, no more comments about snitches.

My point is that even though LE is not announcing arrests related to this case; they also aren't asking for help or leads.........nothing. Maybe they already know who did it. They already have at least some of them in custody and are just waiting until they have solid proof to make any announcements. No way this was just a random robbery.

Those posts are partially why Inspector Gary and I checked into arrests and read some other stuff further. Even the music posts on the core group's walls are very confrontational and sending a message.
And Im in agreement with you that this was premeditated, and not random
in the least.

Is it common to kill a girlfriend of a snitch? And possibly abuse her?

I haven't had time to read through the posts late, but has anyone posted the article from the Holland-Springfield Journal that came out today? They don't have a website, as far as I know, but I'll post the article word for word if it hasn't been posted.

I ws just looking thru some of the pics posted on various peoples' FB pages (people who have been mentioned here and may or may not be connected) and can't help but wonder: Is there some gang rule that says the minute a camera is focused your way you MUST show your gang sign? I mean, none of these folks can look into a camera, it seems, without throwing a sign. Maybe I've just not noticed it before this case...

Holland-Springfield Journal
March 1, 2011 - Double homicide wasn't a random robbery

Sherrif's office advises neighbors not to worry

Springfield Township residents fearful that the recent double homicide may mean danger for the neighbors should not worry.

"It wasn't random. It wasn't a robbery. It was professional," Lucas County Sheriff's Sergeant Jame Schiavone said.

The sergeant gave an update on the murder investigation to the Springfiled Township Trustees as part of his monthly sheriff's report at the February 22 meeting.

Lisa Straub, 20, and Johnny S Clark, 21, were found executed January 31 in a home on Longacre Lane, where Ms. Straub lived with her parents Jeff and Mary Beth Straub.

Ms. Straub and Mr. Clark were found around 4am by Mr. Clark's family members. The couple had been suffocated with plastic bags over their heads and their hands bound. **Yes they spelled Clarke incorrectly

Sgt. Schiavone said he believes the drug-related crime was a professional "hit," instigated by actions of the victims.

The crime was not a random neighborhood robbery and the sergeant believes the suspects are likely no longer in the area.

"Nobody needs to be worried about that," he added.

The sheriff's office is investigating the crime with the assistance of the FBI and the state Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI).

More than 100 people have been interviewed during the investigation, he said.

Ms. Straub and Mr. Clarke were discovered after his family had called 9-1-1 several times earlier that evening concerned about their safety.

Sheriff's deputies checked on the home twice, but found nothing suspicious indicating that they should force their way into the house.

Mr. and Mrs. Straub were out of town on an anniversary cruise in the Caribbean when the murders took place. The young people were alone at the home.

Ms. Straub, a 2009 graduate of Springfield High School, was attending Owens Community College and worked at TGIFriday's restaurant.

Mr. Clarke was a Bowsher High School graduate.

Reward money is being offered to help solve the crime.

The Lucas County sheriff's office is offering a $5000 reward for information for the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murders.

Also the Straub family has established a reward fund at Fifth Third Bank. Donations can be made to the Lisa Straub Benefit Fund.

As of press time, those donations had reached $16,000.

Anyone with information can remain anonymous and is asked to call Crime Stopperes at 419-255-1111.

no i don't believe it was random. but i also don't believe it was "professional". pros don't kill with plastic bags. they execute with head shots and leave.
they don't leave a mess and DNA behind.

That was my thought as well. I'm not sure if their goal was to help people sleep better at night or what?

Obviously I was glad to see something in print from "reliable" sources (sheriff), but I still am not sure I believe that it was a professional hit. I think they would have been better off saying that the victims knew their killers, not so much proffesional but definitely personal!

Wow.
Thats alot of info.
What happened to the 28,000 in reward money? Maybe they havent had
time to get the corporate check from TGIFridays yet to get it into the
fund.
So, do you think they are saying they are NOT in the area of the Straubs
only? Or gone from Ohio, period?
Makes no mention of any arrests...BUT...I wouldnt put it past LE
to go ahead and find these people and get them into custody before
they left the country or disappeared into the underground somewhere.
