I have become enraged, frustrated, and utterly disgusted by some “opinions” on law enforcement and how they are conducting this investigation. So before you feel the need to judge the motives and calculated moves of law enforcement, or attempt to undermine their task at hand.

Thanks FutileResistance....I can't believe some of the opinions and outright misguided statements being made about "our men in blue" and invite these critics to walk a mile in those shoes before they express an opinion lacking in experience or insight.

Yes! Three police officers in Florida were killed within a couple of weeks of each other (few weeks ago) as they were trying to protect and serve.
Imagine how their families feel. They died while trying to help other people, not while they were dealing drugs, gang banging, etc.

Crazy Charlie Sheen is on CNN Right Now

Watching ....

I like him, for many reasons. He's a wild man, though. But he's FOCUSED, lol.

He has that wild look in his eyes like some people I have witnessed the next day in what they called the "TWEENERS". Thats the time from being "Cracked out" to being straightened out and thinking about the next score. Functioning but twisted. And then I have seen them 30 days into Narc-Anon and they talk like they have a grandiose complex and they are gonna be a cult-leader after the pending fall of our civilization. Like they will rise like a Phoenix to lead the masses. True "WINNERS"

I agree. He was exhibiting that cocaine mania. He seems more calm, now. I hope things go okay for him. I'm a 911 truther so I have a prejudice, I'll admit.

Had it not been for the mention of plastic bags over their heads, I would never have clicked on the story.
And I certainly wouldn't have clicked it twice. To deprive someone of the very air they breathe is almost beyond human comprehension; it is certainly beyond mine and can you even begin to imagine the struggle after one was bagged and the other one realized he/she were next? It boggles my imagination. I've worked with college age kids for all my life. They are one of the most beautiful groups of people anyone in public service can ever come into contact with...whether they are the scared freshman just entering college, the middle-aged professional updating a licensure, or the senior citizen going back to school for a photography class. They all, all college students regardless of their age, have that inquisitiveness about them. Both these kids would have been a delight to have had in any classroom.

That's what detectives should be for.

Many people are under the impression that cops are their personal protectors. I'm sure you know that. They aren't and can't be.

The U.S. Supreme Court has declared that the Constitution does not impose a duty on the state and local governments to protect the citizens from criminal harm.
- DeShaney v. Winnebago County Department of Social Services

What can be said? Let me feed at the trough but do not even dare for an instant to hold me responsible for my job.

As far as traffic violations this month, the sheriff’s office issued 11 DWIs, 136 speeding tickets and 17 tickets for driving while under suspension. “That’s really becoming an outrageous thing,” Schiavone said about driving while under suspension. “Last month, there were 27. The month before, there were 30. Nobody has licenses anymore. I don’t know what it is.”

WOW!! I just showed these stats to my husband, who is in LE. He said that these numbers are "insanely ridiculous" for an entire county!!! :O

He works in a SMALL, QUIET town in the south. He said that HE averages 2 DUIs, 45 speeding cases (typically warnings), and 10 driving under suspensions, AND 10 drug cases per month. Keep in mind that this is ONE person in a SMALL town working DAY SHIFT!!! Many of his numbers would be higher if he worked nights and would be off the charts if he worked in an area like this!!

And those numbers are from an ENTIRE COUNTY and all of their deputies compiled!!!! Signs_173

He said its no wonder all this is going on!! Smiley_emoticons_skeptisch

He is a good, fair cop who is in it for all the right reasons! Police He is in it to help others and to make a difference! Smiley_emoticons_smile

Unfortunately, not all cops share his values and work ethic!!! :O

that it was provoked by the victims. That is about as mean a
thing to say as I can recall coming from LE.

Unfortunately, it's typical LE with regard to how they think. Look at how many innocent children have gone missing through the years only to be chalked up as runaways by LE who refused to investigate initially and in some cases, refused to launch a full investigation for years--as leads grew colder and colder.

The only solution is to place LE under civil authority much like the military is and then crack down on their actions and inactions. If one thing history teaches us, no one group can EVER be self governing. We look to LE to govern themselves while LE 'does the right thing' and no group can ever be trusted to govern themselves.

:agreed: More common sense as stated above!!

That represents five officers patrolling a select part of the county with a number of village, city, and township departments also out there. As well as State Patrol.

Their work ethic is fine. Thanks!

So, are you one of those 5? Smiley_emoticons_skeptisch

And I'm guess there are 5 officers per shift? If so, there are typically 4 shifts, so if that were the case, that would be 20 officers.

And why is the statement from the "Sheriff's Office" versus a town or community? The "Sheriff's Office" typically includes all those working for the sheriff and that includes a county wide jurisdiction- at least where I'm from. Perhaps it is different in Ohio......
