from the very first day of this story i have never believed it was only one person. even with a gun. you'd have to be holding the gun while simultaneously duct-taping and smothering people who were probably struggling.
my own personal opinion, which is not based on any information from contacts, is that there will be more arrests.
and if there are others involved, this guy may well spill it/deal to try to take death penalty off table.

Yah, I don't believe he acted alone. I see now that it would kind of be impossible to hold a gun and duct-tape someone as well. GOOD POINT!

TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Samuel Todd Williams, 24, faces two counts of murder and aggravated burglary in the brutal deaths of Johnny Clarke and Lisa Straub, but these latest charges aren't his first.

Those who know him say Williams grew up in East Toledo and attended Waite High School. He is a father of two young children and began studying social work at Owens Community College in August. However, he's also been in and out of jail and has a rap sheet marked by a history of threats and violence.

In May, Williams was found guilty of domestic violence. Toledo Municipal Court documents state Williams went to the home of his ex-wife to pick up their 5 year old son and threatened her, kicking in the home's front door.

One year earlier, Williams was ordered to take parenting classes after he was found guilty of disorderly conduct for pushing and biting his ex. Another time, court records indicate he threatened to "kill her."

Another time, Williams was convicted of disorderly conduct after court documents state he told a woman living at an East Toledo home that he was going to shoot up the house and kill everyone inside.

Williams' friends paint a very different picture.

"One of the best men I ever met in my life, one of the best," said Zach Hainer, 22, who played football with Williams in elementary school. "He's always been a family man, took care of his wife, took care of his kids, took care of his friends. He's there for you when you need him."

Before his arrest, Williams was living with the mother of his other child on Kelsey Avenue in East Toledo. She says she's never heard of Johnny Clarke or Lisa Straub and claims Williams is innocent.

Despite Williams' past criminal record, Hainer agrees.

"I don't believe it. I won't believe it. I can't believe it. I've known him for too long," he said.

So, of course most of his Ex wifes friends and possibly even her, think he is NOT guilty.. One guy even wrote " he aint do that shit" someone else wrote " i love how they through his past shit in there to make him look worse" these are not direct qoutes but are shortened for what was actually written... There are also comments about how police are picking on someone who is innocent.. Its a shame, his criminal record speaks for itself.. I dont care if he did it or not, hes still a shitty ass person because of the things he has done, you can not sit here and say this man is good after you see his record and the things he has done, yes its a possibilty to be wrongfully accused at one point, but this dudes rap sheet is a fucking mile long, you can't be innocent of everything you dumb fucks!!

I'm in awe over what they are putting on Facebook. I know them. I've only been around Sam in last 6yrs like 5 times. When I first meet him he wasn't the size he is now. He is not a smart person at all. I still don't know the connection with him (Sam) & TW. I had suggest to his ex to hide her Facebook. I think it made her mad after looking today what she is writing on there. You think she would be thankful her son doesn't have to be around a person like his father, but she doesn't seem to think that way. Knowing the situation she puts the most F*** U* post on her page for everyone to see.

This was such a horrible crime and 2 young people are gone. But the boys mother is such a phony. Everytime I see her on the news I want to scream. This man will be given his day in court and if he is found guily then he should pay the ultimate price, but please stop filming this woman. Her ranting makes little or no sense.

Lisa Straub's family held a press conference Friday afternoon. Family spokesperson James Verbosky said the family is relieved. "We believe Lisa was an innocent person in this act," said Verbosky.

Verbosky said the family does not know Williams, and have not been told of a connection between the suspect and Lisa and Johnny. Lisa's family does not believe it was a random act, and they feel other suspects may be involved.

"You don't strangle two people to death without one of those people jumping out of window, leaving the house, it takes more to take two people down," said Verbosky. "This was a brutal strangulation for both of them."

Investigators have said they believe the pair were killed in an apparent robbery attempt that occurred while Miss Straub’s parents were on a Caribbean cruise.

Lucas County Sheriff's Detective Jeff Kozak said he is not yet releasing any information on a motive.

"We’ve got a lot of work to do yet," he said.

The detective has been working on the case since the day the couple were found slain inside the Springfield Township Longacre Lane home bound with duct tape with bags over their heads.

More arrests, he said, will "hopefully [be made] in the near future.

Lisa's parents have no desire to 'go public'. Although they have a great support system of family and friends, they're actually quite private. Great folks, very unassuming and well liked by all.[/align]
