Johnny S. Clarke & Lisa Straub- young Ohio couple murdered
My GUESS would be that since she's not allowed to do the kind of posting that we were use to, she's keeping her posts very short and only once or twice a day. Must be driving her crazy

There has been a change in support also. No comments from the staunch family supporters since this comment (prayer)

Which begs the question of ...What happened in Maytee's life to prompt this prayer? Has some family and friends tried to intervene on the behalf of Johnny's little brothers? Just how are they doing?

she knows someone is watching her postings. and i know for a fact the prosecutors told her over and over to shut her mouth because she was endangering their investigation/work on the case. hell, i told her that via Mock, but she wouldn't listen until someone finally prevailed on her to put a sock in it. these days butter wouldn't melt in her mouth. at least in public facebook pages. it's pretty amusing. she must be choking on her bile. and she did just lose 2 family members, grandpa and grandma. and the holidays are tough too.

i hope the boys have a good holiday season somehow.

If the car had something to do with the robbery and murders then he would be number 1 on my list. I didn't see his initials anywhere on the discovery. But he was released from custody two weeks before the murders and moved in with Alex. His charges included aggr robbery, kidnapping, traffiking in drugs, and more. There was a fb convo c/p here at one time (I think) where Aaron Griffin and Alex were talking about when she broke up with this guy.

Anyways, that is something that has always stayed at the back of my mind. And it would tie into the car-deal-gone-bad scenario.

this is cousino's ex that Adub refers to. he has not been named as a suspect in this case, but his history is public information:

Four men have been charged with kidnapping and drug trafficking after forcing their way into a cognitively disabled woman's central Toledo home to sell drugs, authorities said.

Dashawn L. Belcher, AKA jac frost, Frost Daddy and Frost da Boss,
21, et al, of Toledo, each were being held on $205,000 bond in the Lucas County jail on kidnapping and drug trafficking charges Friday.

The men were arrested after being found hiding in the attic of the victim's Fulton Street home about 4 p.m. Thursday, Chief Mike Navarre said. The men had taken over her home about a week before, after she was overpowered by a group of people that knocked on her door.

The victim has cognitive disabilities, Chief Navarre said.

"The question is, ‘How did they do this?' And the answer is, ‘Fear,'" Chief Navarre said. "They completely took advantage of this woman."

The men sold drugs out of her corner home, allowing as many as 20 people into the residence at a time, the chief said.

On Thursday, the woman spoke with a friend on the phone, and the friend alerted police of the situation.

Charges against additional suspects are pending in what Chief Navarre calls a "very unusual" crime.

A man remained hospitalized Thursday with gunshot wounds from a drive-by shooting near Fulton Elementary School in central Toledo, police said. Dashawn Belcher, 21, of Putnam Street was listed in good condition at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, a hospital spokesman said. He had a gunshot wound to the thigh and a grazing wound to the arm, police said. The shooting occurred in the 300 block of ... http://www.toledoblade.com/local/2010/08...oting.html

It looks like the 4 mentioned above pleaded no contest & all 4 went on Probation but, one is due in Sylvania Court for possession of drugs a violation of Probation. They were required to pay restitution to the victim.

It's just all out of control in some areas of Toledo, I feel sorry for the LE that have to deal with these nasty people & sorry for the decent people that live in the region and have to deal with this type of thing. Just look above the one bastard was shot in the thigh and grazed but, it didn't phase him from getting on with his nasty business as usual.

In the news article that LC posted, the 4 defendants were not prosecuted Smiley_emoticons_skeptisch

After discovery motions and a Hearing on Victim Witness Competency on Jan 10th, the prosecution dropped the charges.

That pisses me off. And I don't even live in Toledo.

Went to visit my family for the holiday and made a trip out to Longacre to see the house in person. I was surprised by how close the houses are to one another. I guess I had the impression this was a nice, quiet, secluded area. It may be nice and quiet, but the Straub's home is smack dab in the middle. And the houses are not on huge lots like I imagined. Those bastards were pretty brave to begin their night of torture as early as they did. It is shocking that the neighbors didn't notice anything.
I didn't gawk for too long. Didn't want to be an ass.

IMO, they were dropped off a block away, dressed in black, and it was dark and cold out. People in the area were already sleeping, IMO.. Also no gunfire and the use of duct tape made it quiet too.

Too bad the dumb ass that shot him sucked at it. Glad they did not kill the lady. How were they not prosecuted. Toledo Ohio needs Dexter to come to town.

Couldn't copy this. There was an arrest close to midnight of a Raynard Lewis,JR. by TPD.(not sheriff).. 2 counts murder, 2 counts agg. burglary,2 counts felonious assult plus other stuff. Was drawn to it because it was 2 of everything. Only thing I found was that he has a FB page and that AG is a friend. I should have been in bed hrs ago, so I can't delve into this anymore. Those that have time go for it!!!

Thanks LC, I just found that out too. One of them lives on the same St. as one of my sons. He called last night to see if I was listening to my scanner. SWAT team all over the place. They were even going down the street looking in every garbage container. My son, when they were looking in his, ask what was going on. All they said was "get back in your house." My son doesn't live in the hood. He's in west Toledo. Good news anyway.

Mike Sawyer, a co-owner of Universal Metals in Toledo, is puzzled and bothered by a detail in the continuing coverage of the horrific killings of Johnny Clarke and Lisa Straub on Jan. 31.

He notes that in a recent story about the arrest of a second suspect in the case, we refer to the man, Cameo Pettaway, as "Mr. Pettaway," whereas Johnny Clarke, on second reference, is just "Clarke." He asks, "Why didn't you call him Mr. Clarke?"

Your ombudsman agrees with the reader. I think this is an unfair, outmoded, and confusing policy, and needs to be modified or changed. Johnny Clarke was in fact convicted of two charges of robbery three years before he died, and served a year and a half in prison. Denying him the "Mr." might make sense in a story about his crime, which involved robbing men at gunpoint. But in this case, he had cleaned up his act, and was a victim of a murder.

I do not think it is fair to stigmatize him without explanation, especially in stories in which he was clearly a victim.

i always called my prisoners MR. or MS. rather than 'hey dirtbag'. it's only a professional courtesy. lady_cop17

yes, the writer should have used Mr. for the deceased victim.
but the writers at the blade aren't exactly known to be Rhodes scholars.
