Johnny S. Clarke & Lisa Straub- young Ohio couple murdered

Maytee has a history of using younger guys to commit crimes while she plans it out and sometimes is the look-out. 9 or 10-years ago there was an article in the Blade about a warrant for her arrest, along with two other men for breaking into a jewelry store. Maytee was the look-out while these two thugs used sledge hammers to smash through the jewelry store walls to get inside...but they only ended up inside of the storage room and got away with nothing. Both guys ended up doing time for the crime while Maytee did not.

Wow. And I'm not even surprised.

Surely Williams or Pettaway would have dropped the dime on her by now if she were involved in this one, don't you think LC?

At the very least, that is some wicked Karma.

purely speculation of course, but if they did they would by necessity implicate themselves. until one or both is ready to face facts and turn state's evidence, they must maintain their innocence. i still think pleas are possible before they go to trial. to save themselves from death penalty.

anyone else involved should be scared shitless.

She probably thought Johnny would be gone picking up that female friend instead of still at the house. I wonder if Lisa was intended to be gone or not? It really raises a lot of questions.

That woman is a fucking criminal and shouldn't be allowed to have kids. People who make babies with criminals should be forced to give up all rights to public aid because they chose to fuck an inmate.

I can't even imagine the mindset of people like that. It is so far from how most people think and most people live. It is just beyond my comprehension. I feel badly for the decent people who have to come into contact with her in their neighborhood. I would tell her what I thought ever time I saw her.

I wonder if Sr. knows more than he is letting on?

Let it snow....let it snow.....let it snow - how sweet!

What a busy Saturday morning this has been - some great reporting!

Post #19315 why the Private Investigator? and the Judge granted Williams permission to view 80 DVD's with witness statements on them? Did the Judge mean Williams Lawyers could view the witness statements surely not Williams the prisoner.

Awhile back Tiki and Neo Post # 16464 - Neo could be on a DVD and where is NEO? LOL Seriously though what nonsense and what a big waste of taxpayers money Williams needs a Psychiatrist why? so he can complain how horrible his mummy treated him growing up she's to blame LOL.

the defendant is allowed to view any and all evidence against him in America.

Owl: Williams needs a Psychiatrist why?

perhaps his lawyer is considering a mental defense. i don't know. legal insanity is very hard to prove.

I know that we are lucky to have the system that we do but that's worrisome nonetheless. These are the same people that say they would rather die than rat someone out. Their word, not mine.

What's to stop them from telling their family & friends the names of those that have spoke out against them? These people retaliate in a bad way.

if their testimony is going to be heard in court/ used at trial, it's going to come out who they are anyway.

True it will come out at trial, but what guarantee do we have that one or more of the witnesses might have an "accident" before the trial in order to keep him/her from testifying?

For once I'm not joking about this: Mental retardation isn't hard to prove. The psychiatrist could be hired to see how low his IQ is. Tards get reduced culpability in America. All of the people involved are probably eligible for Special Education. And don't forget Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Those folks don't give up the drinking and drugging when they get knocked up.

it's not unknown. there is no guarantee.

re: mental defense Cracker, retardation may save you from death penalty in mitigation in penalty phase (IQ under 70 cannot be executed). but not guilty by legal insanity is a different matter if that's what defense is considering.

most murder defendants i have known do request a psychiatrist (rather their defense attny. does), it's routine defense 101.

Right on with this post! The reporting that we received here on Mock is excellent! where is this Toledo Blade? the people should know more about this case, my gosh if you are a witness and 80 of them yet, wouldn't you want to know the accused one is viewing your interview with the Toledo Detectives? The Toledo Blade may not be allowed to report court proceedings is that it or what? Yes definitely worrisome!

the right to confront your accusers is a Constitutional one.

The Confrontation Clause of the Sixth Amendment to the United States Constitution provides that "in all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right…to be confronted with the witnesses against him."

That's fair & that's how it should be. I've never given this type of thing much thought but it would explain why so many people tend to not want to get involved.

Maytee had a mental competency hearing on her Jewelry Store robbery charges and the Judge found her competent. She did have to enter a mentally disturbed offender program though. Truth.

we had a record of that posted, i can't find it at the moment. i'm watching a movie hahaha
there are many degrees of competence. a defense lawyer may try to claim his client is incompetent to stand trial, right up to insanity and not responsible for crime.

So anyone doubt that Sammy is going to sign the speeedy trial waiver?

WOW.

LC, I know you aren't all that fond of me so I quit posting. I have checked in to follow this case and I want to say to you, BRAVO for staying with this and doing such an amazing job of keeping this story alive, especially considering the abysmal coverage from local media. I hope you write a book about this.

I remember way back, shortly after the crime, your saying that you thought something was fishy with Maytee, and a few of us discussing the possibility of her setting up the burglary. Her hysterics and insanity could only be chalked up to her being a nutcase to a degree. The hounding of Tiffany and AP just screamed of trying to deflect from something she wanted to hide. That and her INSTANT panic when she got the call, that night, was so off. And, remember the crocodile tears in that very first TV interview? We all remarked on that. Most telling - SHE BLABBED ABOUT KNOWING WHERE THE KEY WAS - something she should not have known. She probably pumped Johnny for that information without him ever suspecting why she asked.

IMO (and I will eat crow and apologize if wrong), she set up this up - not just for money that she thought was in some non-existent safe, but out of seething jealousy of Lisa and her family. Johnny finally broke free from the looney bin and she resented it and sought her twisted revenge.

Adub, thank you, too, for keeping all the niggas and their initials straight. I could have never followed it all without you.

I saw a film with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke about two brothers who set up a robbery at their parents jewelry store. Their mother was not supposed to be working that day, but she was. You can figure out the rest. It was a true story.

I have one thing to say to Maytee, who I know lurks and denies that she does: Karma is a bitch.

GOD bless Johnny & Lisa.

Shitstorm, i thank you very much for your kind words. it takes a thoughtful and thinking person to really look at the evidence and despite how they may have once felt, come to a different conclusion. i really appreciate your post. i honestly can't recall everyone's opinions throughout this past year, but i enjoy intelligent comments and opinions.
and that is not to say i have convicted maytee in this. just that my mind is very open to the possibilities based on her history.

you should post, don't let me bother you. the only time you'll get an 'attitude' from me is when i perceive what i feel is knee-jerk cop-hating (another topic, another time). but in any case i don't expect or require everyone here to agree with me. controversy is welcome at Mock. encouraged in fact.

Happy Holidays!
