yeah i visited that site, mainly bc i saw something elsewhere talking about a post TJ Lane had supposedly written regarding bringing guns to school. as of yet I can't find it (or where i originally saw it).

also, on twitter, im seeing a lot of chardon students saying that the photos with the guns/sign are NOT actually the shooter. still waiting on direct confirmation, i've messaged a few chardon students politely asking them to clarify if it's him or not.

The student who passed away is Danny Parmertor. I believe I found his facebook/twitter. but both are private.

from npr.com--

A Cleveland hospital identified the slain student as Daniel Parmertor, an aspiring computer repairman who was shot while waiting for the bus for his daily 15-minute ride to a vocational center.

"We are shocked by this senseless tragedy," his family said in a statement. "Danny was a bright young boy who had a bright future ahead of him. "

Parmertor's teacher at Auburn Career School had no idea why Parmertor, "a very good young man, very quiet," had been targeted, said Auburn superintendent Maggie Lynch.

At least one other victim, a 17-year-old boy, was listed in serious condition.

Parents thronged the streets around the school as they heard from students via text message and cellphone long before official word came of the attack.

By midday, officers investigating the shooting blocked off a road in a heavily wooded area several miles from the school. Federal agents patrolled the muddy driveway leading to several spacious homes and ponds, while other officers walked a snowy hillside. It wasn't clear what they were looking for. A police dog was brought in.

Heather Ziska, 17, said she was in the cafeteria when she and other students heard popping noises in the hall. She said she saw a boy she recognized as a fellow student come into the cafeteria and start shooting.

She said she and several others immediately ran outside, while other friends ran into a middle school and others locked themselves in a teachers' lounge.

"Everybody just started running," said 17-year-old Megan Hennessy, who was in class when she heard loud noises. "Everyone was running and screaming down the hallway."

Rebecca Moser, 17, had just settled into her chemistry class when the school went into lockdown. The class of about 25 students ducked behind the lab tables at the back of the classroom, uncertain whether it was a drill.

Text messages started flying inside and outside the school, spreading information about what was happening and what friends and family were hearing outside the building.

"We all have cellphones, so people were constantly giving people updates — about what was going on, who the victims were, how they were doing," Moser said.

I'll be updating as soon/as much as possible. but i gotta go pick up my lil sis at the moment, so sit tight!

So sad. The news is saying there are rumors a 3rd student has passed away. Only speculation, no confirmation yet.

How about the teacher/assistant football coach who chased Lane out of the cafeteria? Frank Hall. Hats off to him, who knows how many more students could have been harmed. i remember seeing another teacher's name mentioned also, math teacher Joseph Ricci, who pulled an injured male student into his classroom and administered first aid. So...tip of the hat to both of those teachers.

The shooter has some kind of genetic/fetal alcohol stuff going on with his ears. You can tell someone is fucked up by looking at their ears.

More kids bring guns/weapons to school than people realize. Maybe it is time to do away with book bags/backpacks.

CNN
The suspect was scheduled to make an initial court appearance at 3:30 p.m. Authorities have not released the charges the 17-year-old sophomore may face.

Lawyer Bob Farinacci, speaking for Lane's family, said late Monday night that the 17-year-old was "extremely remorseful."

"Very, very scared and extremely remorseful," he told CNN affiliate WKYC. i bet he is. he's seen his future in the clanging shut of a cell door. it's a grim moment. Prison

"He is a very confused young man right now," Farinacci added. "He's very confused. He is very upset. He's very distraught ... himself. This is a very scary circumstance that I don't think he could have possibly even foreseen himself in the middle of."

That statement kinda bothers me in that it speaks to the issue I have when people don't take personal responsibility for their actions. He's a young man, I have to believe he knew full well the consequences of his actions.

that's lawyer-speak for "we're going to look at an insanity defense". Ohio WILL deem him an adult for trial. but since he's under 18, the most he can get is LWOP. if he had reached his 18th birthday, they could and would sentence him to death.

edit to add:

oh good, he represents horses.
