Holly Bobo, 20, Tenn. missing. & Karen Swift
I checked out his Facebook a couple of days ago. Kinda creepy that the woman he is "in a relationship" with resembles Heather Sullivan. Guess he's just got a thing for blondes..

The Arraignment

Adams looks like he's aged a bit in just the last couple of weeks, to me.

Adams was represented by Jennifer Lynn Thompson ^, a high-profile Nashville attorney. He pleaded "not guilty" to all charges. If she's going to continue representing Adams, I take it Thompson is death penalty qualified, but haven't had a chance to read up much on her. Here's her website:

The Bobos attended the arraignment yesterday (Mother Karen and brother Clint pictured above).

The Bobos attorney, Mr. Farese, has been advising the family on what the proceedings would be like and what an investigation such as the one into Holly’s disappearance entails. Farese said he believes many details about Bobo's disappearance will come out in the next 30 days.

Judge McGinley set a status hearing date of April 9th and said he wants to "keep the case moving at a speed that is fair to both sides". Good. I hope for the Bobos' sake that progress is continual. It may be a death penalty case -- if so, it'll go slower than most, but hopefully without years of delays.

I win divorces. *snicker*

She's not cheap, $2500.00 just to show up, although I suppose that's about 12 the fee many would charge for the same thing. Someone is footing the bill, probably his grandfather. I couldn't know that of course, it's simply a guess. She is going to require a great deal of money.

This is interesting -- new charge filed against Zachary Adams

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Authorities have added a charge of witness coercion against a man accused of kidnapping and killing Tennessee nursing student Holly Bobo after he allegedly tried to threaten his own brother, who is also in jail, according to a court affidavit obtained by CBS affiliate WTVF.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) says agents served an arrest warrant on the new charge against 29-year-old Zachary Adams on Tuesday.

An inmate told TBI investigators that when Adams learned that inmate was going to be transferred to the Obion County Jail, where Adams' brother is being held, he asked the inmate to pass a message along to his brother, according to the affidavit. The station reports that the message said, in part, "He's the one who started this s*** and if he don't shut his mouth he will be in the hole beside her."

According to the affidavit, a different inmate overheard Adams make the threat.

Adams was already being held without bond in Chester County on first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping charges in the Bobo case. He has pleaded not guilty.

Now that I've thought about that for a moment - will that truly mean anything? It would mean believing an inmate, right? I think so poorly of him, I believe it but it doesn't make it true. I hope it's convincing.

It means something, IMO. An arrest warrant and a criminal charge were issued after the allegation was investigated.

So, the TBI either heard about the alleged threat from the inmate and believes he and the corroborating inmate are telling the truth. Or, the TBI is orchestrating a little shake up and using these inmates in the process -- to get Zach nervous about what they might have learned from others and try to bluff something incriminating out of him.

Either way, I think Zach's brother talked and gave LE at least enough to justify the search warrants that preceded Zach's arrest. I think that's why Zach's mother rushed to publicly declare that bro Dylan was kept up all night and interrogated without a lawyer in the days leading up to Zach's arrest -- laying the groundwork that any confessions/implications were made under duress and therefore not reliable/admissible.

Here's the affidavit regarding the "coercion" complaint.

I did a search and this is as good a copy as I could find.

It says that Zach told the inmate to pass the message to his brother on or around March 4th. If it was on or just before March 4th, Zach was in jail for unrelated assault at that time and LE had been searching his property in relation to the Bobo case for days. Zach Adams was charged with Holly's murder on March 5th.

It's big news -- Jason Autry was indicted by a grand jury. He, like Zachary Adams, faces first degree kidnapping and murder charges.

According to LE, witnesses saw Holly alive after the reported kidnapping in the company of Adams and Autry. (I wonder who the witnesses are and if they waited until the Adams bros and Autry were all three behind bars before coming forward.)

Autry is in Riverbend Maximum Security Prison on a previous, unrelated aggravated assault conviction. He is being held without bond and will be arraigned in the Bobo case tomorrow.

Sounds like LE thinks other arrests might also be possible.

I wouldn't blame them if they did wait. Those are really scary guys. Poor Holly. If these guys truly had her she must have been petrified.

They are definitely ruthless pieces of shit and I don't doubt their abilities to instill fear in those who dared to cross them.

I would rather have imagined Holly dying in the process of being kidnapped, to be honest. What I imagine might have happened to her while being their captive is horrendous.

Her family's fear of what she went through must be close to unbearable.

I'm so glad to see movement in this case. These assholes are sure whistling now. I also hate to think the mental torture this is taking on Hollys family. Very saddening. Close to home. I bet she was raped and tortured to death, I could be wrong. :(

This is very interesting -- the third person is Shayne Kyle Austin.

Snip:

Prosecutors plan to indict at least one more person in the Holly Bobo case, according to documents obtained today by The Jackson Sun.

According to the documents, prosecutors plan to indict Shayne Kyle Austin, who previously had been granted immunity in exchange for his cooperation in the investigation.

The state voided the immunity agreement because Austin was not completely truthful and forthcoming, according to an email from Assistant District Attorney General Beth Boswell to Austin's lawyer, Luke Evans. The email was sent on March 27. "When we indict your client, I will give you a courtesy call informing you," Boswell told Evans in the email.

Boswell's email indicating the intent to indict Austin was included with documents filed by Austin's lawyer in Decatur County Chancery Court on April 1. The documents seek a restraining order and temporary injunction to keep prosecutors from violating the immunity agreement and indicting Austin.

According to the documents, Austin received immunity in the Bobo investigation in an agreement signed on March 6. The agreement gave Austin immunity from any criminal charges arising from the Bobo case.

More specifically, the agreement said, "In exchange for the total cooperation of Shayne Kyle Austin, the State agrees to grant him immunity for all charges arising out of the disposal, destruction, burial and/or concealment of Holly Bobo's deceased body, conditioned upon him assisting us in recovering the body of Holly Bobo."

The immunity agreement said the state would also not charge Austin with tampering with evidence or accessory after the fact "if he was present for, if he participated in, of (sic) if he has information concerning the disposal, destruction, burial, and or concealment" of Bobo's body or other items of evidence connected to or belonging to her.

The agreement also said the state would give Austin immunity for information concerning the "possession of any controlled substances, the sale of any controlled substances, the possession of drug paraphernalia, and/or any other drug related criminal activity (not to include any drugs administered to Holly Lynn Bobo.)"

The agreement was contingent upon Austin being "completely truthful, forthcoming and cooperative" in the investigation. The agreement was also void if investigators independently developed evidence or witnesses — other than any co-conspirators — that implicated Austin in a crime related to the Bobo case.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Take a look at the dates in the article. Austin was given immunity for full truthful cooperation on March 6th. That's the day after Zachary Adams was charged.

I think it's likely that Dylan Adams sung to police in order for them to get the search warrants and Shayne Austin is the one person implicated who would talk (probably to save his own ass from drug charges and crimes connected to Holly's case).

Quite possible that LE expected Austin to leave out some key facts that reflected poorly on him; got all they could from him and then voided the immunity agreement based on provable omissions in his account. Good! (All speculation on my part.)

Anyone who actively participated before, during, or after the abduction should do time, IMO.

Anyway, very glad to see witnesses coming forward.

I'm with you Js -- so glad to see this case moving and anxious to hear the latest charges (and hopefully more details as to the evidence).

I don't know if Austin is gonna be charged with murder like Adams and Autry were.

Just based on what's been reported in terms of the now-defunct immunity agreement, he might instead be charged with accessory-after-the-fact, obstruction of justice, or something along those lines.

It's possible that LE suspects him of kidnapping and/or murder, but haven't seen anything yet to suggest that's what he's being indicted for.

LINING UP THE A-HOLES

After years of so little movement, lots happening in Holly's case.

Here's an update on the known suspects / informants.

ZACH ADAMS - KIDNAPPING/MURDER SUSPECT
-The unrelated charges of assault against Zachary Adams were dismissed because the woman dropped the charges.
-Adams pleaded not guilty to witness coercion this week. Turns out, police discovered that he tried to have the inmate pass a note to his brother Dylan via the inmate's recorded jailhouse phone calls -- the inmate told his girlfriend about it. The inmate testified about the matter in court yesterday.

DYLAN ADAMS - INFORMANT
It's been confirmed that Dylan Adams has been speaking to LE for some time from behind bars. He told LE that he saw Holly alive after the kidnapping with his brother Zachary and Jason Autry.

His mom contends that Dylan has some kind of learning or mental impairment -- it's vague and I don't know if that's been confirmed. His record is sparse as compared to his older brother Zach's and Jason Autry's.

JASON AUTRY - KIDNAPPING/MURDER SUSPECT
Jason Autry is 39 -- he has an extensive record, lived right near Zachary Adams, was reportedly Zach's best bud, and he claimed several weeks back that he's found Jesus in jail. Praise the Lord.

He's more dangerous even than Zachary Adams, IMO. He seems calm and unfazed, likes the attention, and nothing about this dude strikes me as sincere. Here he is in court today pleading not guilty to especially aggravated kidnapping and murder of Holly Bobo.

What an effin' conman. He was also addressing the media and asking for prayers on his way in and out of the courtroom today.

SHAYNE AUSTIN - INFORMANT/SUSPECT
His attorney is suing LE for backing out of his immunity agreement -- he says his client swears that he was completely honest with TBI and kept his end of the bargain. LE says he's a liar and they're after his ass - they're gonna indict and arrest him; that's what they've promised. It's not clear what crimes LE is looking to charge him with.

Did Austin stalk Holly?
A local news channel ran an interview with Candace Wood today. Four days before Holly was abducted, she went to the annual coon hunt on a double date with her childhood friend Holly Bobo. Candace was creeped out by a guy dressed all in camo who was on the phone and appeared to be scoping her or Holly out every time she looked his way.

The day after Holly was abducted, Candace reported it to TBI after talking to Holly's mom. Two months later, TBI called her in to do a sketch. Candace didn't know the guy -- she's since seen Shayne Austin's photo and is about 80% sure that he's the guy who was creeping her and Holly at the coon hunt.

^ Shayne Austin photo alongside the coon hunt creeper (sketch based on Candace Wood's description).

LE claims that they have a motive, but they're not divulging that information at this time.

Not yet.

I think LE expected to get it out of Shayne Austin, based on the language in the immunity agreement.

He either doesn't know or isn't giving it up. JMO, but I think LE suspects the latter and that's one of the reasons they revoked the immunity agreement and have put Austin on public notice.

LE claims to have physical evidence, though. But, they're not sharing what it is at this time.
