Thats my attitude too and my kids haven't starved yet. I don't buy it when people say their kids are picky eaters. They're only picky eaters because you allow them to be by substituting junk for healthy food.
I AM a picky eater, but I don't substitute junk. I don't like peas. Or asparagus. Ok, so I eat green beans and broccoli instead. I love steamed broccoli & cauliflower. Good stuff. I don't like onions either for the most part. Or mushrooms. But I can still eat healthy on the fruits and vegetables I do like.

Oh, and carrots.. I'm weird there.. (ok I'm weird in a lot of ways, go ahead and mock it) because I love them raw, but I hate them cooked.

So IMO, it has jack shit to do with the kids being "picky" eaters or not. It has everything to do with the parents being "lazy" or not.
What I meant by picky is kids who refuse to eat any type of vegetables. There is awide variety of them out there and if you offer a variety of healthy foods, they'll eat it.

Marie, your goals and accomplishments are not mild. Didn't you just have a knee (or both?) replaced?

It's only normal to gain weight if you can't walk or move around like you used to and as you get older it's even easier due to slower metabolism. Not many are lucky enough to keep their metabolism from their teenage years!

It was a hip. The right one. Now it is 100% titanium. Hooray. Yeah, being older means it is a lot easier to put on than takeoff.

And I will have to say JB's son is not hard on the eyes.

Ugh I've seen plenty of pizza I wont' touch! Just ask Frank...... I can go on for an hour! He knows exactly what I mean.

D, I've had pizza in Michigan..... sorry but goddam that is some foul shit. Know what else I found to be some fucked up shit there..... Coney Islands. Stores called by that name too.

Sorry, but that is some foul shit and the stores never EVER look inviting. I don't think they have them near where you live do they? I've only seen them in the Detroit area when we went there to visit his family.

This is a coney dog, it looks like a mixture of diarrhoea and vomit in a bun.

REAL Coney Island hot dogs do NOT remotely look like that. What you describe there is exactly what I think when I saw the picture.

I never walked into one of the restaurants and today was the first time I saw a picture of one when I looked it up. Disgusting.

Food in America differs vastly from region to region. Growing up in NYC there are not many places that I am comfortable eating.

Ienjoyed the sea food in Florida, this bar near our hotel did these kick ass watermelon daiquiris and a lot of cajun/creole type food which was really nice. Jambaylaya with all kinds of stuff in it, gumbos, and they did seafood boils outside which kicked ass as well.

We had a massive crawfish boil with hot sauce, it was finger licking good, we also went to a soulfood place and that was some good eating too. We became addicted to Hush puppies and hoecakes, country fried steak washed down with grape juice, biscuits and gravy and a bottle of icecold big red.

Here at the confluence of Pennsylvania Dutch country and the coal region we have PLENTY of what would be considered "not good for you" foods.

However......most are not pre-packaged, processed, chemically preserved shit.

The majority of folk around here still work at physical jobs and eat LARGE portions as a result.

The older people have a lower rate of obesity than the younger generation and this is likely due to the higher activity level. (Ain't that a kick in the ass?)

Even the fat older folk can usually run circles around the slob-assed 20 somethings!!!!!

I guess it's a regional thing.

Everywhere you looked there was massive fat people "grazing", they all had food/drink in their hands all waddling along aimlessly.

I lost count of the number of times people couldn't go on certain rides because of their sheer size, when we saw Captain EO at the Epcott centre I have never been in such a large enclosed space with so much cellulite and blubber at one time.
I think you might be missing the very real possibility that the people you saw at Disneyworld were tourists from other countries as well. Granted, the US hasour share of fat asses, but we're not the only ones in the world.

Same here OP. If we didn't eat everything on our plate, it got put in the fridge until we did. Nothing else (not that there was) until that plate of food was gone.

I learned NEVER to throw my food away. If we threw our food away and wanted something later, my mom would tell us to go dig our supper out of the trash. ::lmao::

We barely had enough to begin with....throwing food out was like breaking one of the 10 commandments in my house.

Depends on where you go Ant. Just like any other state. LOL. Where I live right now, I wont eat anything but BC Pizza. (Best Choice Pizza) They have some excellent pizzas, especially if you get the cheese filled crust. Hot damn. Smiley_emoticons_smile

I wont touch Pappa Johns, Pizza Hut, Dominoes, or Little Ceasars. No. Thank. You.

I feel like I'm in England surrounded by a bunch of pasty ass, flabby tit, high tea talking bastards everytime we go to Disney world. I don't even need to visit England after going there.
