You can bet that the truth is someplace else other than in your "feelings", and your "suspicions".

Those are the 2 dumbest words that can be used when you want to be taken seriously in any conversation, they are the words of a retard with nothing to offer.

I say to people, "you're a fuckin' idiot, just as I suspected".

...so, I occasionally use that word. That was a general "you" btw.

Different context, with some evidence to base the comment on.

completely different than what zeroballs tried to pull off.

Coin collecting is way cool.

Of course not collecting coins can be pretty cool too so anyone can be cool.

One of the cool things about coin collecting is gifts can be really cheap. Buy things like telescopes, binoculars, cameras, or old X-ray equipment at garage sales and you can often find a lens in them that is exactly what a collector needs. A lot of collectors like all sorts of books related to the era of the coins he collects or even things like city directories can appeal to specialists. It's pretty hard to find any collectible a collector will appreciate but it's easy to find things related to what they collect.

Coin collecting isn't so great for meeting women but if this is your objective just buy a puppy. You can name it penny or something.

Or just get on the net since it really does take all kinds.

I need some ideas for gifts for one who digs coin collecting. Thanks!

I would look at a gift voucher to a Coin Dealer or coin collectors assessories.
Unless the person you are buying the gift for stipulates a certain coin then you are faced with an impossible task of giving them something they haven't got.
If it's for a child then perhaps an accumulation purchased through an auction.

Maggot, what's the difference between the Bluebook handbook of coins as compared to the Redbook?

Do you ever recommend books for collectors? Anything you consider "must have"?

A coin collector (any collector) will probably have any books they already need. And it's almost impossible to pleasantly surprise them with a coin unless they're a beginner and you know their specific needs.

Coin collectors might be able to use accessories like scales, microscopes, or magnifying glasses. Every collector has an almost endless need for different magnifying glasses and doesn't know it until he gets it. Large low power glasses are excellent for scanning groups of coins and high power glasses for checking varieties. A square medium power glass (~8X) is great for carrying around in your glasses case. I always tear apart junk optical equipment seeking new glasses. A cheap telescope or broken microscope might be worthless but contain very valuable lenses.

If you can get accumulations of things like old copies of the Numismatist or auction catalogs they might be hugely appreciated and can be found very cheap. It's probably not a good idea to spend a lot for anything for a collector because it might be worthless to him.

My daughter came up on a rather tarnished looking 1943 penny. I soaked it in a thimble of coca cola and it turned all silver. Broke her heart. She had been perusing the internet, convincing herself that it was worth millions.

Tell her to keep looking, and when she finds this one, stop.
