John Edwards Trial On
#21
Great fucking thread LC. I had ignored this whole thing until I read this thread. Jesus I hope this guy does some serious fucking time, and that's such a great pic of the daughter looking at him I want to make it my new av.

what's WRONG with people. Power and money corrupt. Turns people despicable and evil.

Edwards was like some sort of shining congressman a few years ago, wasn't he? What a pig to treat his wife that way.

I think Edwards is guilty as hell and will probably end up being convicted on all or most of the six related charges; probably spend 5 years or so in jail. But, I'm glad this jury is deliberating carefully and asking to see exhibits. With prosecution witnesses like the corrupt, lying, profiting assholes Andrew and Cheri Young, I'd want to make sure all of the pieces fit together on each count too. Hope this jury gets it right.

None of that matters since the appeal will file automatically if he is convicted.

He will be given 6 months to get ready to go to jail. or he might even be released pending appeal.

Justice isn't blind in all cases.

Why doesn't it matter, Dick? Justice might be delayed due to the appeal process, but he will still do jail time unless he wins his appeal. I think the case against him is tight, so he'll do some time no matter what if he's convicted (at least, I hope so).

(CNN) -- The jury in former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards' corruption trial finished its fourth day of deliberations Wednesday without reaching a verdict.

The eight-man, four-woman jury is scheduled to continue deliberations Thursday morning. Jurors began weighing the former North Carolina senator's fate Friday after four weeks of testimony.

i believe this jury is going over everything, as they should.

The jury in the John Edwards trial asked Thursday for all of the evidence presented by the prosecution and defense teams, suggesting jurors still have a long list of remaining questions before reaching a verdict.

I hope this jury finds him guilty, not only because he's corrupt and deserves to spend some time in jail, but also because a conviction could be a prompt for serious campaign contribution reform, imo.

It was a 20 minute verdict tops.

It sometimes take 3 or 4 days for pay pal to clear a payment.

^good thing you're not on that jury. He's guilty as sin, but so is his accuser.

It doesn't take much to find guilty when every shread of evidence says that is the only possible verdict.

What difference does someone elses guilt have on the guilt of another?

Personal responsibility is a mystery to you?

each person is responsible for what they do.

Edwards diverted funds in such a way that it was illegal it undermines our election process as a country, He should have to do the full 30 years.

We'll see how the jury decides the evidence. That's why it's a jury system. Otherwise it would just be mob justice.

What part of this is a message board don't you understand?

I have no influence on the jury.

IMO he should do the thirty years, He should have been found guilty based on the evidence in about 20 minutes.

I am different LOL. I could care less that he had affairs. That was between him and his wife.

And no one could ever convince me that the donators had no idea that that money wasn't going to cover this up.

Plus tired of my tax dollars being spent on this crap. Get NC some friggin jobs!

he's not on trial for affairs.
it's not simply "affairs". it's his character.
the cruelty to his wife. terrible cruelty. when she was fighting the cancer that would kill her. his children's mom. no feeling, no respect.
the deceit.
the siphoning of monies to his bimbo. the illegalities involved with that.
the lies and lies and more lies.
this what we would want in the White House?
no, it's not as simple as that lying whore bill clinton fucking the intern. it's having a GODDAMN LIAR as the leader of the free world. or even as a senator.
he's SCUM. he makes cockroaches look like bluebirds.
he has no morals.
he's a dirtbag.
does anyone care about the morals? is he any better than the shitbums i write about in the crime forum? except he's a rich shitbum.

DON'T MORALS COUNT???
didn't most of us grow up being taught some morals?

It's not just about affairs. It IS about their charactor as LC said. If a man cheats on his wife and lies to everyone, how do know he is being honest in his job? How can his constituants trust him to handle the business of their state? Or country as with Bill. When a man is a liar and a cheater when it comes to his marriage, it's a pretty good bet he is a liar and a cheater when it comes to politics as well.

If Edwards was some regular Joe Blow driving the garbage truck, I could care less what he did in his personal life. I would think he is a douche but it wouldn't affect my opinion on how he drives the garbage truck. Being the president or a senator is a whole different thing.

I hope this is just some sick juror or something... at this point, send them packing and rotate in an alternate.
