Living in the past?

I believe Stevie Ray Vaughn played on that album and thought Bowie was the strangest person he ever meet.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

Anyway, I love this clip -- Eddie paying tribute to Les Paul.

Eddie taught a lot to Joe Satriani surfing with the alien is almost a tribute to Eddie.

Appropriately dedicated to my friend aussie 27 :

This is probably my favorite song from the CD:

I had a great friend who looked like Alannis, she went on to become an architect. We have since gone our separate ways.

So, Kanye West doesn't consider Beck on par in terms of "artistry" with Beyonce.

Kanye contends that Beck should have handed his 2014 Grammy award for Album of the Year to Beyonce. Smiley_emoticons_skeptisch

There's even a hashtag, "Who is Beck?" Twitter twerps -- get a clue.

Beck, in my opinion, is right up there with Zappa and Prince in terms of creativity and has been for over 20 years now.

If Elron Hubbard were alive (and suddenly sane), he could be proud of only two things born from the Church of Scientology: Beck and Juliette Lewis.

Nothing against Beyonce, but Kanye West is clearly daft.

True dat.

I can't stand the fucker. Not a fan of any of his music either. If he is a musical genius, then it can't be hard.

You're up late, HotD?

I am up late and none too thrilled about it, but I've got two hospice clients who aren't doing well at all as of this afternoon.

If I need to call their families with bad news soon, I want to be awake and informed when I tell them what they absolutely don't wanna hear and be able to answer their questions.

I don't like my work sometimes.

I don't envy your job, HotD, but you have my complete admiration for doing it and I am thankful that there are people of your quality selfless enough to do it. I hope your night is as short and painless as can be.

Thank you, crash. Nothing really admirable going on here though -- just decent and respectful, same as I know you would do.

So.............wanna dance, old-school slow to two of my favorite all time voices?

I used to watch Ally McBeale just for the Barry White, I'm embarrassed to say. There, I said it. Have at it..

Not to play light on Kanye ' s colossal ego, but he's right in one respect: Beck is a talented musician who is nevertheless way overrated by hipster douchebags who want to seem superior in their musical taste refinements. Like jazz snobs or NPRseholes. No surprise he's getting extra love from someone in the bay area, he's practically made for them.
All personal preferences aside you can't reasonably expect to retain credibility by giving "album of the year" to an album that few outside the left coast ever listened to. But then the Grammys never really has been about credibility has it ?*coughcoughJethroTullheavymetalcough*
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

I've liked Beck's music for a long time, though I'm sure he's not for everyone. It doesn't matter to me if some hipster douchebags from the bay area like him too and some flem-throated assholes on the east coast think he's overrated.

But, Kanye would probably appreciate your profound post, Donovan. Both you and he clearly have superior musical taste refinements and are uniquely qualified to decide the legitimacy of the "artistry" put forth by musicians and the worthiness of their listeners -- thank you for your very enlightening analysis.
