reports to present to DA won't be ready until next week, so no charges until then, but if they are convicted on the felonies they are looking at serious prison time and huge fines, not to mention kids removed from their custody. what fools.

Would their lie have been uncovered if they had chosen not to parade their children around the media ?

i think so...the balloon was too flimsey to support the kid's weight, there was the video of him launching the thing when he had said it came untethered by itself, and it seems now that some media outlet (not yet named) may have been complicit.

I watched the clip. It did show the balloon flying around and who would seriously think the kid was in there? The balloon was definitely not flying the way something with a weight in it would fly, and I doubt it was even big enough to have flown that high with a kid in it.

Here's one thing that did cross my mind though... the father said that the balloon was supposed to 'hover' at 20' when they released it. Being a scientific guy, he would realize that there is no way in hell a balloon like that would just 'hover' WITHOUT a significant weight in it. Perhaps he was PLANNING to put the kid in there, have the balloon 'hover' briefly, then pull the boy back in - but maybe the boy was afraid and didn't want to do it, so he hid. Then the father released the balloon thinking the boy WAS in there, and flipped out when it floated away? hmmm

Fucktards like this should be lined up in the local public square and be run over with tanks, Tiananmen style.. Then denied it ever happened, Chinese dictator style

Might serve as a warning for any further slimy fuckers using kids and animals as pawns in their stupid games to make a dollar out of media hype

While I agree with crash here, I doubt people will learn anything from this. It will just give people more crazy ideas.

I mean, speaking if parading kids around....what about the Gosslins, or Octo-mom, or the Duggers? Do we really need a reality show about any of these people just because they had a lot of kids?

CNN) -- The Colorado parents in last month's notorious "balloon boy" case will plead guilty to offenses for creating a hoax that their son had flown away in a large balloon.

Richard and Mayumi Heene are to plead Friday morning in Larimer County Court, according to a statement issued by Richard Heene's attorney.

Mayumi Heene is expected to plead guilty to an offense of false reporting to authorities, a misdemeanor of the lowest level, according to the attorney.

Richard Heene is expected to plead guilty to a felony offense of attempting to influence a public servant.

Though the Heenes could receive jail time for the charges, the prosecutor has recommended probation, Richard Heene's attorney said.

The threat of deportation for Mayumi Heene was a factor in the plea deal negotiation, the attorney's statement said.

"Mayumi Heene is a citizen of Japan. As such, any felony conviction or certain misdemeanors would result in her deportation, even though her husband and children are Americans," the statement said.

"It is supremely ironic that law enforcement has expressed such grave concern over the welfare of the children, but it was ultimately the threat of taking the children's mother from the family and deporting her to Japan which fueled this deal."

Prosecutors in the case could not be immediately reached for comment.

Sometimes I really question the laws here and something I heard yesterday only reinforces that...Remember the chick from NASA, the lovesick one whose intention was to put a hurtin' on her lovers' new squeeze ?...Her sentencing was carried out yesterday & she basically got NOTHING.

yes, i have a thread about her at 24. she got 2 days jail (time served) and 1 year probation in exchange for copping a plea. the judge is a spineless worm and many people are quite upset over that. the victim was put in fear of her life and moved to alaska with her fellow astronaut lover, the man the nutty astronaut wanted.
