'Church' is specifically to worship God.
'Christmas' (despite the name) is only as religious as you make it.
I'm agnostic and I have been to church with my ex. I may end up going with my son at some point, though I would rather just leave that to his dad if he wants to do that. It's not hypocritical of me, because if my son ASKED me if there was a God, I would feel obligated to tell him the truth and say "I don't know".

I will not go to church and force my children to participate in superstitious rituals and be brainwashed into an organized religion that they are not old enough to make a decision about just because it's my spouse's family tradition. I believe there is probally a creator, but not in the biblical sense. Luckily my husband is an athiest because I don't think I would be able to get along with someone who wanted to force their christian values on my children.

My indoctrination occured when my siblings and I were shipped off on any church bus that would take us so the parents would have some time for their weekly horizontal bumping activities.
I saw an array of different flavors of religion and thought they were all a fucking joke. And I still do.
