Not surprised, glad I got my build done before the prices went nuts

It's funny, because I really don't have an interest in an AR or any 'assault' looking firearm. Besides, I'm pretty sure they all look pretty 'assaulty' if you are having them pointed at you. FFS, it's all basically just a cosmetic package around a common rifle, shotgun, or handgun.

I remember reading that Brownell's reported selling 3.5 years worth of ammo magazines within 72 hours of the Sandy Hook massacre. I don't know if Brownell's is truly the largest manufacturer, but its gotta be up there. That's a lot of magazines stock piled in a very short period.

I found the December article:

Just the talk of bans has put so many more guns and ammo cartridges into circulation; it's almost unbelievable to me.

Here is a stipulation buried in the Obamacare package that may have gone unnoticed. It makes me wonder what else is in that monstrosity.

What do you think about that? In retaliation a lawyer posted the names & addresses of the newspaper staff & a google map of the publishers home. HaHaFuckingHa.

Two homes on that list/map have been burglarized.

Of course there's no way to know for sure if there is a connection.

It was irresponsible of them to publish that & I laugh when I recall reading they had to hire extra security after doing so. Fools.

Here in Oregon there are some LEO's with strong opinions about law abiding citizens and attempts to infringe on their Constitutional rights.

I always smile when I think of small-town Oregon sheriff Brian Dennehy trying to escort Sly Stallone out of town in the movie 'First Blood'.

LOL! Got his ass handed to him!

Teasle: Now don't give me any of that crap Trautman. Do you think Rambo was the only guy who had a tough time in Vietnam? He killed a police officer for Christ's sake!

Trautman: You're goddamn lucky he didn't kill all of you.

Teasle: Are you telling me that 200 of our men against your boy is a no-win situation for us?

Trautman: You send that many, don't forget one thing.

Teasle: What?

Trautman: A good supply of body bags.

Total fools; publishing permit holder data was a full-on dipshit move and I have no sympathy for the Journal News or its employees who are feeling the backlash. I do however feel for the local LE that's had to follow-up on the threats that Journal News employees have received since the publication. This one made me laugh though.

White Plains police Commissioner David Chong says a suspicious package that brought out the Westchester County bomb squad Thursday turned out to contain "non-toxic fecal matter."

He said Friday the package was sent to a Journal News employee. The newspaper identified her as CynDee Royle, who's editor and vice president/news.

I hope that any other media outlet that was considering such a move has reconsidered after seeing how it went down. I don't feel bad for laughing at those who felt the need to hire security, I thought they brought it on themselves & I hope they were scared spitless.

I think they were scared and agree that hiring armed guards was laughably ironic. Having the bomb squad come to your house to unwrap what turned out to be a package of shit is pretty funny too.

Looks like they learned their lesson. Today, the Journal News removed the names and addresses of gun permit holders from their interactive map.

The new gun control laws that were passed for NY state include a kind of privacy provision which is said to have been included in response to what the idiots at Journal News did:

On Tuesday, as part of a gun control bill, the state Legislature passed and Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed new regulations that give permit holders several ways to opt out of the public record.

Applicants can ask to be exempted because they are police officers or served on criminal-case juries or are victims of domestic violence. They also can just say they might be subjected to harassment.
