Does that make weed lose its appeal?

I hate you all!

last monday I was almost put in the hospital because of the flu I had my vacation week of Christmas. Good luck with it and sleep, drink oj and ginger ale (real ginger ale) and get better. The doc gave me a 5 day regiment of anti-biotics and some other stuff and I feel a shitload better now.

Thanks Maggot. I have a nurse friend who gave me a couple of z-paks, saving me from a trip to the doc.
The feeling of wanting to chop my head off before it explodes has not subsided yet...hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I can't smoke my weed or ciggs. My throat is raw. I think I would cough myself to death if I tried.

Started getting the flu shot annually about 6 years ago. Haven't had it since (knock on wood).

I still get the sinus infections though. Those seem to last 3 weeks or so.

I am a great believer in the flu vaccine. I get whatever vaccine is needed every year. Sometimes there are other bugs about. My crew are fully vaccinated.

My husband never gets vaccinated but he's on his own. I feel a little bit badly that I didn't get my kids in this year. They started getting flu vaccines 2 years ago. I have mixed feelings about it at their age though. As much as I don't want them to have to suffer through the flu, I sure as shit didn't get vaccines for it when I was a kid. Maybe just going through it toughens up your immune system.

I still might try to get them in next week if I can.

I had my last flu when my kids were about 8 months old. I literally couldn't take care of them and had to call in the troops. I've gotten one most years since.

Even with the flu shot you can still catch the flu; it just won't be as severe for the average person. I have to get one every year since I no longer have my spleen - drs. said I wouldn't be able to fight off flu or pneumonia. Removed my spleen in 1979 and said I'd get sick a lot more since my immune system is shot. Have had the flu 2 times since (just got over it about a week ago) and thought I really was going to die (and yes, I had the flu shot). I did really well until around age 60 - now I'm doing what they predicted in '79 - catch every thing within a 100 mile radius. At least I'm still here.........but sick so much of the time.

I've never gotten a flu shot and probably never will.

I was shocked at how fast they came up with a vaccine for the swine flu, and equally shocked at how many parents let their kids get it.

I know the swine flu was a different deal, but coming up with a 'concoction' practically overnight...I just wouldn't trust something like that.

I'm one of those that lets shit like the flu run its course. If I ever ended up in the hospital, I might change my mind and start getting the shot.

I got my second flu shot this year, I haven't had the flu but a simple cold kicked my ass a couple months ago. A fricken cold. Pitiful.

I'm convinced a cold is going to kill me when I get older.

The last few years, I have gotten them so badly in my chest... I know when I can't fight it off as well I will develop pneumonia or something.

Others may laugh, but you would be surprised how many elderly die from the genesis of a simple cold.

I usually get flu shots every year. This year I have not yet, for various reasons. ANyway, my husband got on my case for not getting one yet. He reminded me that LAST year I came down with pneumonia. I reminded him that LAST year I had a flu shot.
I had asked my dr about getting a pneumonia vaccine, but they usually do not give them to someone younger than 60 unless there are other health issues.
