you have no evidence that the bible is fiction.

No I have no evidence that the talking snake and the man living in the belly of a whale and the hippy walking on water was fiction.

hah

Dick is a preacher or reverend or some kinda godly guy, he will never admit the bible is fiction.

I don't have to admit anything, those who claim it as fiction need to prove it is fiction if they make that claim.

by the way OP, the term in the bible in the original language wasn't snake, snakes don't talk.

The burden of proof is, as ever, on the believers.

I've read the bible and Eve was tempted in the garden of Eden by a talking snake.

Either the bible is the word of God or it isn't which is it dickhead?

You read a translation of the bible. try reading it in the original language.

Get back to me when you have finished with those few verses you are so hung up on.

Ya' want the truth. You can't handle the truth. The fact is that it was all as real as a heart attack. The garden, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (tree of life), the talking snake, and getting kicked out is all the literal truth. Of course the story was mangled by the Greeks who didn't understand any of the referents nor the original language or people of the stories. They got only enough right to put two and two together and solve it.

The garden of the lord was a very real place where the water came up from below and watered the surface of the earth. Through evaporation and "the coming into being of rain" it formed the headwaters of all downwind rivers. The four major ones being listed in the Bible. The apple was actually a sycamore fig growing in the dissolution products of sandstone one of which was "fossilized gold" or auric sulphide with the sulphur stripped away by time. This gold was carried in the water and fixed in the figs the eating of which caused extended lifetimes and deposition of metallic gold on long bones as well as having the curious effect of making them smell good. Indeed, individuals who ate these figs had a distintive and highly pleasant odor. "Serpents" were actually "leaks" where gasses or water were unintended and could be fatal. Adam awoke after exposure to toxic levels of CO2 and felt like a rib had been ripped from his chest. This was when he found Eve and began a long line of oral traditions. There were two cherubim and a flaming sword gaurding the garden but after one cherubim was covered up by a large structure the flaming sword fell and disappeared. Now all that's left are the two biggest X's on the planet to mark the spot and a parking lot. Actually there are numerous parking lots but the song says there's only one. Curiously people come to look at the X's and imagine the idiocy which they believe built them so more and more parking lots are needed.

I can't help but wonder if some people today are covering up something else with perfume.

Funny. Even before you postedthe link I was going to simply post;

Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

She looks so remarkably young.

I don't think the Mena House Hotel is actually pink but it's a hot spot and this area (especially the golf course) were part of the complex in pre-biblical times.

It does! I cram as much as I can into almost everyday because I often feel I am running out of time. I hate that I even have to take the time to sleep.

At 64 Joni looks great. In full face she is still beautiful. In profile she begins to look a little like Richard Simmons

All religions have their quirky beliefs. Even the most mainstream ones.

But athiesm is based upon more faith and beliefs than any mainstream religion today.

I can see the point of many agnostics. I can't say I've got any answers. My faith is my faith mainly due to geography.

But athiests claim science, yet science states that which is not proven false must be considered as a possibility so since science cannot disprove existence of an omnipotent being it thus must be considered as viable. Yet there is more proof of an omnipotent being than that against one. Such as the moral imperative.

The moral imperative is that which occurs in nature despite Natural Law. Natural Law as being laws that would be in existence without the need of an omnipotent being. Yet every intelligent society has had a moral imperative. Granted this doesn't Prove the existence of an omnipotent being but it gives creedence to the belief that one exists. On the flip side everything that has been attempted to disprove creationism or the existence of an omnipotent being has not proven it and instead created more questions.

Additionally without an omnipotent being everything would be meaningless. Yet with an omnipotent being everything has meaning. Our conscience tells us that everything has meaning... etc. I think therefore I am.
The "moral imperative" is just another animal instinct.

Apes show "moral imperative" towards their own species as do lions and other big cats.

They do? lions eat other dead lions, and ape's kill the weak to rid them from the group and destroy the fucked up gene pool.

I guess you're lucky that humans have a different set of moral imperatives aren't you?

And humans have wars sometimes on a catastrophic global scale.

Now tell me again about the "moral imperative" of war?
