McQueary is still in his coaching position, but I don't believe he will be for long. The following article about sums it up for me:

Leaders don't cower. Leaders don't run to daddy to ask for advice. Yeah, let's mull it over in front of the family fire place over cocoa while a ten year old endures a life-changing, earth-shattering assault. Lets look out for my own rear end by, in essence, protecting someone who in 2002, didn’t even work there anymore."

University Park, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- The Penn State football coach who alerted head coach Joe Paterno in 2002 that he'd seen a former defensive coordinator sexually assault a boy -- an allegation authorities didn't learn of until years later -- was placed on "indefinite" leave Friday, the school's interim president said.

On Friday, acting President Rodney Erickson announced that he and newly named Athletic Director Mark Sherburne made the decision to put McQueary on administrative leave. A day earlier, the school athletic department said McQueary would not coach in Saturday's game against Nebraska due to "multiple threats" against him.

"It became clear that Coach McQueary could not function in this role, under these circumstances," Erickson said of the decision.

The mother of the boy who triggered the investigation into Jerry Sandusky's alleged child sex assaults says that during the years of abuse the boy suffered he felt he didn't have the power to say no to the former Penn State football coach.

"I had said, 'You know, maybe we should have come to this conclusion earlier -- you should have told me,'" the mother, whose name is being withheld, said she told her son. "He was like, 'Well, I didn't know what to do … you just can't tell Jerry no.'"

Sandusky, now 67, would often have the boy stay at his home after they met when he was 11 in 2005 through the Second Mile program, which the coach founded for at-risk youth

Why were these boys staying at Sandusky's home in the first place? I can understand the boys going to football camps and attending Penn State games through the Second Mile, but didn't anyone (including Sandusky's wife, Dottie) think it was odd that Jerry had these young boys spend the night in his basement? These were local boys, none of them probably lived more than a 15 minute drive from Sandusky's home. It sounds to me like it wasn't only these sexually abused boys that couldn't say NO to Jerry, no one could (or did).

I've been perusing the 'net to see what those who worked with Sandusky had to say about him. This quote is unbelievable:

Asked if the indictments will impact The Second Mile, Dottie Huck, a member of the state board of directors, said “it shouldn’t.”

Speaking personally, Huck said Sandusky has “done some wonderful things in his lifetime and we should try to help him ... We all make little mistakes in our lives.”

Little mistakes? Anally raping a 10 year old is a little mistake in this woman's mind? Makes one wonder, did she know or suspect what was going on?

That's unbelievable that that woman calls Sandusky's years' long history of raping young boys a "small mistake."

As for parents letting kids sleep over at Sandusky's house, the only way I wouldn't find it odd was if the invitation involved Sandusky's children. If one of Sandusky's kids was at the camp, an invitation like "Bobby and Sam seem to get along well - would Sam like to spend the night?" wouldn't raise any red flags for me.

I had read earlier that there was an ice cream dish at The Creamery named after Sandusky (now taken off their menu). I just found this online. I am not agreeing or disagreeing with the show's host, just thought it was food for thought.

As Limbaugh says, it may or may not mean anything. But it sounds like there was local commonly referenced sexual lore about Sandusky.

I still can't figure this woman out. Did she really not see what her husband was all the years they were married? If she didn't know (not just denying it but really didn't know) then I feel pretty badly for her. However, I just can't believe that this goes on in your own home and you have no idea.
