I wouldn't be surprised if they voice their opinions about that comment...not publicly per say, but to whom made the comment. But something tells me, they'll wait until the case is cracked, and then speak their minds to make sure their daughters character was not discredited.

In a perfect world, the Straubs would be able to sue for libel but the dead aren't able to sue for libel. And neither Lisa nor Johnny are here to defend themselves so the public is left thinking, all the while a killer or killers walk free, that the handsome couple brought their untimely demise upon themselves.

And that thought is planted by someone feeding at the public trough.

Powerful movie.

LC has seen it. She was talking about it in the "Oscar" thread. You should go add your thoughts regarding it too. Awink

Thanks, will do. Appreciate being pointed in the right direction. It
really showed the toll crack takes on addicts.

My first thought was "blame the victims"

My second thought was "word"

LC called the whole announcement "a throw away comment"

Totally laying blame on the victims!

I think you're absolutely right on the money about there being a lack of suspects but I agree with LC and others about this NOT being a professional hit. A professional hit wouldn't use plastic bags, surely?

I get the impression that the CCV chick is on there to take jabs at Maytee. Maytee could ban her, but here's another question..... Why join the page of the mother of a murdered child to take jabs & ask stupid questions? Pretty fucked up if you ask me.

I really never looked at it that way. Honestly.

I though CCV was just totally clueless and that's what made me laugh...she had no idea what she had just walked in on. "Awesome!"

How dumb am I?

115 Hell i thought the girl was asking because she asked about her spells or whatever it was one day and I thought maybe she was refering to that by askin what kinda candle was she usin to do her curses! HELL IDK Awink

Speaking of curses, have any of you choked on your tongues yet? Mine is still in my mouth, not my throat!? Smiley_emoticons_biggrin

No you're absolutely right. Lisa and Johnny were an extraordinarily handsome couple. One of my hobbies is photography and I'd have paid whatever it took to photograph this couple. I'm sure they're just like dozens of other couples I have photographed over the years...totally benign and very nice. It's just such an incredible shame. I do hold out hope the killer(s) will be brought to justice.

Right on Duchess!

I agree...but it does add to the discussion...because as one of JC's cousins put it on the Justice page, she was from "rich ville" I think it was glaringly obvious to that group too, and they probably did think that Lisa's parents were rich, hence the ransacking of the parent's bedroom, professionals don't ransack the parent's bedroom, sorry, but people who think somebody's parent's are from "rich ville" and may have some big money hid in the home and their gone for a couple of weeks, would!

Very good point.

I think it depends on what definition they have for "professional" hit.
I think they used the wrong term. I'd say gang/thug/drug circle/video game lovin'/Good Fellas wannabe "hit".

I can not imagine how the Straubs must feel when that LE said
that it was provoked by the victims. That is about as mean a
thing to say as I can recall coming from LE.

If someone had said that about my family member, right or wrong,
I would be pissed. It is just so f-ing crass. Imagine living with that
every time you walked into church or work. There are so many
other ways 'something' could have been said. But then in the
paper today in Canada a judge let a guy off for rape because the
girl was provocatively dressed. Weird world.

You would have every right to be pissed because it only underscores LE's true feelings about such cases by individuals who feed at the public trough--and boy, do they feed. Classic case of the foxes guarding the henhouses--simply does not work. Never has worked; never will work.

Again I agree with you, but the is no reason to get pessimistic. Info is out there and LE just needs to tease it from its hiding place. I think this double homicide is a small part of a bigger picture too.

Zero, bigger picture in what way?

Stupidity from people in charge drives me crazy too--especially knowing how they feed at the public trough and trust me, they do feed. I myself fed at the public trough for decades but always maintained a high degree of integrity in my work and always tried to go the extra mile to serve the public. I was paid very well, for decades, and let me tell you, even after these public servants (aka trough feeders) retire the benefits in the form of generous retirements keep rolling in for decades. I get absolutely furious just thinking about it. Sorry.

If indeed there was a match, one would think a presser would have been released. If there was no match, this case could drag on for years.
