Johnny S. Clarke & Lisa Straub- young Ohio couple murdered
(03-08-2011, 08:46 AM)wanttoknow Wrote: Does anyone else think it's strange, that Maytee was on the news the same day as Lisa's uncle? Maybe it was just a coincidence.

Probably the only coincidence is that both families were fed up with LE's jaundiced views of and unwarranted attacks on their lost loved ones. Grieving families don't need to put up with printed and published articles denigrating their loved ones.

Interesting observations. I suppose Lisa's family is trying to put some distance between her and Johnny. But you know what? You don't pick and choose who you fall in love with.

But you can choose to pursue a relationship or not.

Regarding the statue, could it simply be a rosary around the statues neck? Could this be blown out of proportion, besides the stolen grave marker? I wonder if this isn't more in retaliation to the Maydoo than a message from the killer. Or perhaps these people really were targeting the Clarke's as a hole and it is a "fuck you" message. Either way, how sad :(

I thought Lisa's uncle was very well spoken.

I wonder if they were approached to speak together and the Straubs refused so they ran separate pieces? We all know Maytee is an attention whore though, so it could be that she just wanted her time too.

Lisa's uncle is very articulate. Rosary, yes. I couldn't remember the name for it but that is it. Most likely, that is what it is. A rosary wouldn't be placed there as a criminal act would it? More as a gesture of faith and support for the family. Strange. This whole case has been so bizarre.

Good point. It makes sense that anyone in the media would want to speak to both families.

Surprised LE didn't have surviellence at both grave sites...and I'm biting my tongue as to what I really want to say, out of respect.
Out of respect to LE? Please, be my guest. Your comments will not offend me.

does this imply that you are LE?
i had to laugh yesterday when someone said "no offense LC" and you replied "no offense taken". you presume to speak for me too?

you still haven't corrected your DOB and age "typo." frankly i think you're the biggest blowhard, arrogant know-it-all post whore i have seen in years. you put pink and netsleuth to shame for blah blah blah bullshit. it's like this is the *van* thread.
your nasty rude dismissive, supercilious and superior reply to the wife of a LEO was about the final straw for me. you attacked LE totally unfairly and viciously, and i am one lifelong altruistic cop that isn't going to put up with that crap in my forum. i didn't risk my life for years for you to come here and announce your contempt for me and my profession repeatedly. you can go to the LE thread Shitstorm started with your diatribe. be sure to post "feeding at the public trough" another 7 or 8 times, it appears to be your mantra. couldn't you learn another insult to parrot ad nauseum?
as far as i'm concerned, you can bugger on out of this thread. and stay out. i don't welcome you.

everyone else, please, i'd like to tighten up this thread and stop all the off-topic silly stuff. i try to keep crime forum threads as serious as they should be. i've been guilty of it too since we have been bored and restless, i do understand. thanks for hanging in! LC

WHAT PART OF BUGGER OUT OF MY THREAD DO YOU NOT COMPREHEND VAN?

this is important in clearing Lisa's name. if anyone can find a criminal record on Lisa i would like to see it. not that it would warrant her murder.

Blade
Mr. Verbosky said Ms. Straub's parents, Jeff and MaryBeth Straub, were upset by the comments, which were reported in the Holland-Springfield Journal. The sergeant told trustees that Ms. Straub had been arrested five times, including four times for "drug-related charges" -- a statement Mr. Verbosky said isn't true. "She had a DUI when she was 18, and she had a criminal mischief when she was under 18," Mr. Verbosky, her uncle, said.

He said her family had no reason to believe Ms. Straub had "gang connections." Her parents, who were on a Caribbean cruise when their daughter was killed, would never have left if they felt her life was in danger, Mr. Verbosky said.

He said a reward fund started by the Straub family at Fifth Third Bank branches has grown to $17,000. He said they plan to "cap" it at $20,000, adding that he thinks it can help solve the case.

The only record I found, and that was weeks ago, was with Sylvania courts

http://courtsvr.sylvaniacourt.com/

A DUI on 1/28/10. And I did plug her name in all the other municipal courts. Sylvania is also where her ex-bf can be found.

Thanks for your recent input LC. Much appreciated.

My understanding from the family is that the injuries to the neck were most likely the result of very tight tape around the neck and the thrashing about of the victim while they were putting the tape on.

Mornin Mockers! Compcoff

Watch this video and listen and watch how Maytee describes the way Johnny's head was taped...if this is a correct description, I think, that not only was there tape around his neck but completely around his whole face!! Watch the video and watch Maytee's hands while describing the tape..and see what you think??

The possibility is huge that her family blames Johnny for ALL of this. I think I probably would too if I were in their shoes. Sorry, but it is what it is. *shrugs*

Lisa's family has been trying to distance her name from his as soon as this happened. Any time you see anything for her (fundraisers, Jim talking) they never mention JC.

I just had a wierd and strange thought when I saw this pic. How many of you think that if this girl and her hefty boyfriend met the same fate as J and L would we be discussing it as much?? Just a curious thought.

Good point, Kitty - sad, but true. Another thought that occurred to me earlier is that we don't know what most other mockers look like; for all we know, this girl could be one of us.

I would be, why wouldn't anyone still be interested, because she's obese and that makes her less human, somehow! It was the manner of death that drew me to this case. There was a term some LE use to use when prostitutes or druggies were found dead or murdered they would included this anagram in their reports NIH... I saw a case a long time ago it was a mother whose daughter and boyfriend were found murdered in California and the mother was from the east coast, and the mother traveled all the way to California to find out what was being done on the case, because time was going by and nothing, well she got all of LE's reports and kept seeing this NIH over and over again pertaining to her daughter, and couldn't' figure out what the hell it was, it turned out to mean, Non Human Involved, imagine that!

From channel 11 FB page left as a comment under the story:

Maytee La Cubana Vazquez I put the angel statue at my sons grave and we do not know who put the beads there around the angels neck... Obviously somebody sick and evil
