#1
very odd. husband, a pharmacist, got his hunting weekend wrong? nah.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Bartow County investigators hope cell phone records will offer more clues in the disappearance of a mother of five.

Wazineh Suleiman, 30, typically wears a head wrap, her husband told the AJC, but has long, brown hair.

"We are pulling together as much information as we can," Sheriff Clark Millsap told the AJC Tuesday.

A sport utility vehicle belonging to 30-year-old Wazinah Suleiman was found Tuesday morning in neighboring Cherokee County. But there was still no sign of the woman, missing since Friday night when she told her children she was going out to rent a movie.

Tuesday morning, Cherokee County deputies located the 2004 Nissan Armada in an empty parking lot on Ga. 92 near I-75, Lt. Jay Baker with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office told the AJC.

A citizen called 911 to report the abandoned vehicle and deputies called Bartow County police, who arrived and took possession of the SUV, Baker said.

"The car was locked," Baker said. "Nothing suspicious was located in or around the vehicle."

Millsap said deputies are examining the vehicle for any clues to help find the woman.

Abed Suleiman said his wife told the children -- ages 12, 11, 10, 7 and 6 -- she was driving to the Walmart in Cartersville around 9 p.m. Friday, but she never returned.

"I've just been going crazy, not sleeping, not eating," Abed Suleiman told the AJC.

The Suleimans were exchanging text messages sometime after Wazinah Suleiman left the home, Millsap said. Abed Suleiman told police the last text he got from his wife's phone said, "I'll just throw my phone out the window," Millsap said. Abed Suleiman said his wife didn't answer her phone after that.

Abed Suleiman told WSB Radio he has spent hours watching surveillance camera footage from Walmart, but still has no idea where his wife could be. He was organizing a search Tuesday afternoon.

Abed Suleiman said he left the family's home around 5 p.m. Friday for a weekend hunting trip in Kentucky. He and a friend stopped for dinner and last-minute supplies in Dalton before realizing they had booked the wrong weekend, Suleiman said. Turkey hunting season does not begin in Kentucky until the coming weekend.

"I did an about-face and started heading home," Suleiman said.

When he got to his home near Cartersville, Suleiman said his wife's Nissan was gone.

"My jaw just dropped," Suleiman said. "She doesn't leave at night."

Inside the home, all five children were watching television. The oldest told his father their mother had been gone about 10 minutes, Suleiman said.

The trip to rent a movie should have taken about 10 minutes each way, Suleiman said. Suleiman told the AJC his wife didn't answer her cell phone and she never rented a movie. Her credit cards have not been used, he said.

Abed Suleiman called Bartow County police Friday night to report his wife missing, but he said investigators have few clues to follow.

"I have no clue in the world," Abed Suleiman said. "There's not a single thing I haven't thought of already. I just came home and she was gone."

Wazineh Suleiman is approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. She has hazel eyes and brown hair, which is usually covered.

Millsap said investigators are hoping to speak with anyone with information about the Suleiman family.

"We are hoping that she has stepped away from family life for a little while and that she'll resurface and say, ‘I'm back,' and be OK," Millsap told the AJC.

Anyone with information about the woman's whereabouts is asked to contact the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office at 770-382-5050, ext. 6032.

her car was found locked. what kidnapper locks the victim's car?

Atlanta, GA —

There are new indications Tuesday afternoon that a missing Bartow County mother may have run away from home.

Wazineh Suleiman was last seen leaving to rent a video around 9 p.m. Friday. But Sheriff Clark Millsap tells WSB's Pete Combs that wasn't the last contact she had with her husband.

More than an hour later, Millsap says Wazineh Suleiman texted husband Abed and said she didn't want to talk with him anymore, she was throwing her cell phone out the window and that he should simply tell their five children she'd been in an accident. HUH?? not passing smell test.

“We are still treating it as a missing endangered person,” Sheriff Millsap said. “He was having communication with her Friday via text and all of a sudden he’s not able to get her to answer a text.”

The Suleimans have five children -- ages 12, 11, 10, 7 and 6.

“We are just hoping that she has taken a break and has just stepped away for a couple of days,” said Sheriff Millsap. “Then maybe she will make contact and everything will be fine.”

Her husband Abed Suleiman has said she left Friday night to rent movies at the Cartersville Wal-Mart, and hasn't been seen since. Records show she never rented a movie.

"Whoever has her, please, please return her home safely,” a sobbing husband told Channel 2 Action News. “I'll give you whatever you want!"

Abed Suleiman is expected to plead again for help on ABC’s Good Morning America Wednesday. He told WSB’s Pete Combs that he has been looking, along with police, at surveillance tapes to find a clue.

husband backed out, did not appear on GMA.

Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap said, “There are a couple of things that are just making us scratch our heads just a little bit.” Asked what specifically, Millsap said, “We’re looking a little deeper into some statements that were made.”

No one is buying the "she left on her own" theory. Many are carefully suspecting the husband. And his hunting buddy, imo.

She sure is a beautiful lady. I believe this will go from a missing person to homicide soon.

My guess . . . "Honor" killing.

Murder . . . wrapped in divine permission.

Suleiman’s mysterious disappearance has her husband under the microscope, but he is not named as a suspect or person of interest. Millsap said Suleiman’s last message to her husband was a Friday night text saying she was going to throw her phone out of the window. Abed Suleiman told Stouffer investigators advised him not to discuss details.

“We just want to know that she’s OK,” Abed Suleiman told Stouffer.

Mr. Suleiman was scheduled for an interview with "GMA" on Wednesday but backed out at the last minute. When confronted at the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, he said he had to deal with an issue regarding someone in his wife’s search party. Later, at the Suleiman home, "GMA" reported that relatives said Suleiman’s husband was taking a nap and wouldn’t talk.

Millsap filled in for the "GMA" interview, saying deputies had not made much progress in the investigation. He said they were working to rule out the possibility that Suleiman simply walked away, which he doesn’t believe.

“Something just isn’t right,” Millsap said.

Facebook pages show more than 1,000 people want to help find Suleiman. Friends are asked to wear all white at a vigil for her Wednesday night. Suleiman is described as Middle Eastern, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. She has hazel eyes and brown hair, which is usually covered, police said.

Anyone with information on the wh
ereabouts of Wazineh Suleiman is asked to call the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 770-382-5050, ext. 6032.

The husband of missing Georgia woman Wazineh Suleiman described their relationship as "perfect," but court documents show the couple is in deep financial trouble.
The couple is more than half a million dollars in debt to more than 50 creditors, according to a federal bankruptcy court . They filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in August, the court documents show.
Bankruptcy court documents show the Suleimans were behind on mortgage payments on two rental homes in Florida and another in Georgia. They moved from Florida to Cartersville, Ga., about two years ago, police said.

When they filed for bankruptcy August 11, 2010, the couple said they had made a little more $29,000 that year in income. The couple claimed they owned assets worth more than $600,000 but owed creditors $1,242,280.22, according to court documents.

Liens had been placed against their home and one of their vehicles, the documents show. Abed Suleiman has worked as a pharmacist, according to his Facebook page.

Lots of defending of the husband on fb. The general consensus of the defenders is that "someone" knew that AS would be gone on a hunting trip and lured Wazineh out of the home. Allah led AS back.

Vigil tonight with media in attendance. Some do not like the idea of media being involved. It may have a negative effect on the Muslim community. And they feel that the vigil should be held at the Mosque/school instead of in a restaurant parking lot. Wazineh was a teacher at the school.

Anyways, there seems to be a lot of bickering about the details.

And lots of ... insha'Allah.

Looks to me from the comments on the FB page, that the children have not even been questioned yet?!? Considering they were the last to see her, wouldn't their testimony be pretty important?

Also, I see that the people organizing the vigil tonight are really concerned that there be security there. They were soliciting donations of $150 to have police there (I see that the husband of the missing woman made a comment that "Money was no object" but apparently it is if they are bankrupt). I wonder why they feel the need to have security at a vigil......

there is no doubt in my mind that the oldest child was questioned by police. unless dad lawyered him up. i don't mean grilling, just gentle questions.

Cartersville is a nice little town. The Walmart in Acworth is in a safe area.

The husband did it.

Do you think it could be some scam between the two of them? I personally agree with you. She may not have even known about the dire financial straits they were in.

We had a murder here in St Paul last April where the husband confronted an 'intruder'. As they struggled, the gun happened to discharge and hit his wife right in the back, killing her. It discharged again, and gave him a superficial wound in his leg. Said 'intruder' then escaped out the back of the house.

Point of the story: Their house was actually in foreclosure and the Sheriff's sale was to be conducted the NEXT day. They were crushed with debt, and the poor wife knew NOTHING of it. Nothing in the house had been packed. They were scheduled to MOVE OUT the next day.

Her family stated she had no knowledge of their financial peril.

Almost a year later, and the scumbag still hasn't been arrested.

i understand he's been at the police station for hours now.

Atlanta, GA —

There's new information today from the Bartow County man whose wife has been missing for five days.

In his first interview in more than a day, Abed Suleiman says he understands some people might suspect him of hurting his wife. But he insists he had nothing to do with her disappearance.

Suleiman admits that he received text messages from Wazineh after she disappeared, but he doesn't think she sent them. "No, it doesn't make sense, you don't just tell your husband and your beautiful family, kids at home you aren't coming home," said Suleiman.

Wazineh Suleiman's parents are now here from Jerusalem begging their daughter to get in touch.
