I can't quit looking at the 'tacky' way 'someone' tried to hem
the dress up, turning it up about four inches, and the fabric being too
heavy, has pulled away its tacking in spots. This is just
unforgivable. It is noticeable where the hem has been tacked.
WHAT kind of royal tailor turns up that much of a hem?
Fuck this shit...I'm pissed off. 300+ Americans killed by tornadoes in the S.E... American towns completely devastated..and the lead story on the nightly news is about this fucking wedding.
America..and more specifically the news networks.... needs to get the fucking priorities in order. Kudos to NBC, a news network I rarely watch..for getting it right, and leading with the shit going down in America.
Of the millions of sperm injected into your mother's pussy, you were the quickest?
You are no longer in the womb, friend. The competition is tougher out here.
i have never started a thread that i didn't try to follow up on, whatever the subject. the same goes for this one. it was a big event today and millions were enthralled by it. i wished to make a record of it via all the photos, which took some effort.
there is plenty of room here to discuss what happened in the tornadoes, we did discuss it in weather thread and 'roll call Cracker' thread.
as for the news stations, i'm not surprised. you have to give the average viewer what they want...which is what they are doing. it's about ratings. people wanted a little break from misery, a fairy-tale wedding filled the bill. i am sure many people are also horror-struck at the damage in the South. CNN and others are covering the tragedy.

Killjoy.
Truth is, the sequence of the news stories will not bring those 300+ Americans back and I can admit to being a little calloused about our so-called tragedies in light of what has happened in Japan, Haiti and other parts of the world recently.
But if it makes you feel better to yell at the t.v., by all means, have at it.
Killjoy? It's a fucking wedding between two folks that have no significance in this world other than to little girls/women who have always wanted to be a "princess".
And you make my point..where have the stories on Japan, Haiti, and others gone?? They've disappeared, haven't they. We're (the media) is more concerned with reporting on the latest fuck-ups by Lindsey Lohan, and a wedding between 2 people who will have absolutely no impact on things that really matter.

I will add, however, that NBC news got it right. I never watch that network, as I think they bias their news to the left...but when ABC opened their nightly news this evening with a wedding report, I changed channels. NBC's lead story was on the shit going down in the S.E. So yeah, I care more about my countrymen than a wedding.

Katie Couric is an anchorwoman FFS! Although think I've heard she'll be leaving soon--thank God.
Unfortunately, "serious" journalism doesn't always make ratings. Although I was a little young to appreciate him when he was on-air, I miss Walter Cronkite. Anyway, I tend to tune in to CNN. They're not perfect at all but they tend to have less "fluff" than my local news channels.
I hear what you're saying but I just had to give you a hard time for raining on LC's wedding thread.
In response to an earlier post by Duchess, I gather they don't have bridesmaids like we do here (at least in the royal family) and it's traditional for the women in the wedding party to wear white.
Di's dress (by today's standards) looks fugly to me but that was back in the early 80's where shoulder pads and such were all the rage.
I liked her dress today. It was a tiny bit boring to me but I also understand you can't really bare arms there--I think she did a good job of mixing tradition with hawt. She wore a little bit too much make-up; made her look older than her years IMO.
