WASHINGTON – Osama bin Laden, the glowering mastermind behind the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks that killed thousands of Americans, was slain in his luxury hideout in Pakistan early Monday in a firefight with U.S. forces, ending a manhunt that spanned a frustrating decade.
"Justice has been done," President Barack Obama said in a dramatic announcement at the White House.

i'm the last person in the world to be a conspiracy wingnut, but i was not happy to read this morning about a burial at sea.
A. cruelty to sharks and crabs.
B. there are those that will want to see his body. maybe not dragged through the streets, but a visual. nobody wants any stories down the road about osama having dinner with Elvis somewhere.
C. i also understand the need to not have some burial "shrine" for worshippers who will see him as a martyr, but he could have been secreted in the desert. for the jackals.
