You wouldn't want to visit a doctor who thought he/she was more educated in medicine than you?

Being a doctor is a profession not a position that makes them more important than their patients.

Doctors can refuse new patients.

They can do anything they want to, does it make it right?

Yes, when one is lucky enough to be able to call the shots they can do anything they want & feel righteous. Uh huh.

Have at it, personally I won't do business with people who think like that.

People like that forget who is responsible for and how they became successful, it's a fucked up thing and I have no room in my life for fucked up things.

That doesn't mean they didn't work for it, but others paid them to reach for success and I can guarantee you it was the small little people that made them successful.

Trades can refuse clients, too.

And you're right . . . the client has the option of choosing a provider of services. They ultimately are in control.

Except for choosing cable service providers in my area.

Or water and sewer.

And law enforcement and fire.

Oh please. Get a grip. People work to become successful so they can do as they please. Jesus Christ, Dick. It's called achieving the American dream. Who in their right mind is going to work for "less than" when they can bring home top dollar? I used to screen clients all the time & you can bet your ass I would pick & choose and go with the money maker. HELLO.

Dick is just pissed because he got several free estimates to repair his delapidated roof and none of the contractors will call him back because it's an "abortion job" and they could smell that he's a PITA customer from a mile away.

Is this a bad time to chime in?

I could make more. A lot more. I was more driven by the need to "do something." Of course, Mary Fucking Poppins wishes she were in a five star resort right now...

I could change careers, but I would fucking choke somebody the first time they insisted they paid my salary. I can do math, I know the people I work with get more of a tax refund than they paid in to the system. Hell, I pay me to work. WTF?

Of course not, I always enjoy your insight.

You are a good person to do what is right for your heart & mind. I'm not that good, I'm sometimes shallow & I'm guilty of wanting it all. I'm not completely without compassion for the less fortunate or those in need in other ways & I do things to contribute but I'm going to make as much money as I can.

I make enough, I guess. I don't live in poverty. I don't stress over my bills and financial obligations. I could make a lot more, but then I would have to drive 3 extra hours a day. I only poop at home, so you can see the problem with that. The money doesn't compensate me for my time.

You would think all adults will do well if they are given the chance. It isn't true. I have learned a lot of bad things about people. I have learned how stupid people really are and how selfish they are and how lazy they are and how they are willing to lie to your face and not even blink. I learned you can't help everybody because they aren't willing to do what they need to do to be successful. They are raised to offer excuses for every damn thing. That doesn't go away for most people, even grown people.

I would really like to work only with people over 40. By then, people have decided they need to do better and are willing to do what they need to do to improve their lot in life. I guess people start thinking about retirement in their 40's. I have been thinking hard about changing my own life. Most people are a bad investment. It wears you down.

Over half the people in this country are fucking stupid. Just so everyone knows. Once you realize that, you can learn to forgive people for doing stupid shit. Stupid people do stupid shit. It makes sense.

I've always known that the moment I leave home I am outnumbered by stupid people. Often when people say goodbye they will say, drive careful, I say, watch out for the stupid people...I'm not kidding.

Nice how you left out the part of post that you decided to ramp me up on duchess.

I was in a service oriented business for a large part of my life, the rich were nice to work for, but the small customer made my business work.

especially back during the carter administration, without the small customers I would not have survived those years, the rich were fucked and weren't spending any money.

you all can have your bullshit "I'm too good for you" attitude, I don't give a fuck, just remember when this country takes a dump, and the rich are fucked that you made your own crap and don't fucking whine about it.

There's rich and there's wealthy. Rich people might be fucked if the economc climate doesn't change in the next few years and if they over-extended themselves. Wealthy people will still be wealthy.

That's what money is: Security. Wealthy people have enough of a money buffer to not worry about shit for generations. Rich people have to be a little more careful.

A local man (lives within a stone's throw of my house) won the lottery here. Six million before taxes, I think. You would never know it by driving by his house. He has the same car, same house. He redid the inside and did some landscaping, but that's about it. And he's gone quite a bit. He will be OK because he didn't do the "(youknowwhatgoeshere) rich" thing. He probably got some good advice from someone like user's husband and is now enjoying his life. The economy being bad means everything is cheaper for him to buy right now. I don't think he's stressing.

When did I state the reason I refuse a client it is because if believe I'm too good for them?

I want a client who is interested and invested in their own success. If they're looking for someone to hold their hand, they can hire an escort.

I bust my ass for ALL of my clients. If I didn't, they'd leave. I'm not the only game in town.

And another thing, I don't care about the size of someone's portfolio. That is not how I choose what clients I'll keep and the ones I'll refer to others.

If both the client and I agree on what each brings to the table, what each expects of each other and agree on a price, we're good to go.

It's not a unilateral decision.

And if that offends your socialistic sense of "you (meaning me) shouldn't refuse service to anyone" then . . . tell it to Obama, Reid and Pelosi.

And you do "give a fuck".

a Billion dollars, worth 6 cents on the dollar, how much of a hedge does the billionaire have?

I get tired of having to explain all of this to the smart stupid people.
