Cutting to the chase, we have over ¹⁄₂ million black kids in Somalia on the verge of starving to death (and I'm getting ready to send them a hefty donation). And here in America we have black families oversucking the tit of welfare and in England rioting (and being greedy).

So...are black people intrinsically "bad" or is it nurture (or lack of nurture?). Or is it a societal issue?

We can look at crime statistics and welfare statistics all day long but you have to answer the fundamental question...is it nature or nurture? Black people may contribute WAY more to the crime statistics but do you think it's because of nature or nurture? Simple question.

I don't think it matters as to what color you are...

Personally, I believe it's more of a social perspective than anything else. When a human being is constantly degraded (for what ever reason) 9 times out of 10, they will turn towards that degradation.

If you are constantly accusing a person of stealing, even if that person has never stolen a thing-he/she will try it at some point, using a thought process like "hey, you think I'm a thief anyway, might as well be one"

Blame everything but the person, it's all about everything and everyone else, the person had no choice but to be a drug dealer, a theif,a poor person with no education.

Speaking only in very general terms, I hold most parents responsible for the little shits they have raised. My parents had very definite expectations in regards to me & my brothers. We always knew what was expected of us & we never questioned it. It would hurt me to disappoint my parents in any fashion, I care a great deal what their opinion of me is.

We are all successful people, both personally & professionally and I believe my parents played a role in that.

You're right. I believe that people can choose, or choose not to, overcome (or change) the circumstances of their upbringing. I just think if you take two people born in to similar circumstances (the projects, shitty parents etc.) the fact of their skin color won't necessarily determine who will/won't make the right choices.

was she raised different? locked under the stairs while they taught user how to make good choices?

was the nurture different? what about nature? was she born bad?

or did she make choices that created the person she is now.

user set the parmeters of the question where there was no responsibility for individual choices involved in how some people live, and that is just not the reality.

But how do you explain babies that are born addicted to crack or alcohol?

I don't think they come out of the womb choosing to be addicted, but it will be one strike against them, and how do you reprogram a child that has watched his mother/father/brother/sister/self get the shit kicked out of them on a daily basis?
