i didn't want Sally to look at this thread. :(

Sally this thread probably has this affect on you because you have a small child close to her age. I know when little aussie was around the same age and I would see something on the news, it was traumatic. I think because you can relate to how devastating the impact would be.

She actually looks a little like my daughter, but then again all babies kinda look the same. Well besides for the one in my avatar lol.

Yes from the pictures and videos, Lisa looks like she was loved and her basic needs were met. I have question: Has the quality of care changed so much in the last 20 years that the mother, who is not breast-feeding, thinks it is acceptable to hand her less than 10-month-old a bottle to drink from on her own? Whenever I gave my babies a bottle, it was a time for me to snuggle with them. The video that is Lisa called something like "Lisa yelling at Mom LOL", is disturbing to me. Damn right the poor little girl is yelling, the poor thing wants to be picked up and held when she is drinking the bottle. JMO

Ya know it's great whenever Sally doesn't give me shit you pipe up! Not all parents of young children give a shit, she is empathising with having a child around the same age. I could relate to her not because of my job but because I am a mother who experienced that feeling too, I was sharing that with her. It's true what I heard on Piers Morgan tonight that the Republicans are more polite than the Democrats.

I have just gone in and deleted this last paragraph you are not supposed to conflict in this forum, so if you wanna roll up your sleeves in another section, maybe the padded room section.

I think she was just saying that for the video. The baby doesn't look old enough in that video to even be able to hold her own bottle yet, but if she is then I say by all means let her. I thought it was a relief when my kids were able to drink a bottle on their own.

SNIP: $100,000 reward offered for return of Lisa Irwin
The Kansas City Star

A $100,000 reward is being offered for the safe return of a missing 11-month-old Northland girl, or information leading to the conviction of those responsible for her disappearance.

Bill Stanton, a New York City private investigator and consultant, made the announcement this afternoon outside the home of Lisa Irwin, who disappeared from her crib on Oct. 4.

Sadly, they can probably safely offer a trillion dollars for the "safe return" of the child. Slim chance that condition can be met.

yesterday family members (but not the parents) came out of the house and hung up signs in their never-ending tireless search for baby Lisa!

Are those metal detectors? If they are, what could they be searching for with metal detectors?

Also has anyone heard if they've tried to search using cadaver dogs? I know they want to keep it as a missing persons case, but 12 days now, and not 1 credible sighting.....

anything metal dropped like phone parts.

and yes they have used dogs.

Ok, that makes sense...For some reason my Polish nationality was kicking in, and I couldn't figure out why they would look for a baby with a metal detector, Thanks LC

This showed up on one of the local news stations today, perhaps Jeremy Irwin's been in touch with the law before now?

Unknown what it may have to do with the current case of course.

And I'm glad it's not just me who's not a fan of this PI guy...

There are confusing rumors floating around about when the police were called to the house on previous occasions. Has anybody been able to confirm anything?

The first story was that LE were notified about a car that was broken into at the residence around Aug 16. It has grown from there...

What a f'ing circus...

the only thing i have seen reference to was a reported break-in of their car.

i am so pissed off, it's like on weekends nobody searches for missing kids or has pressers or reports in the news or gives a rat's ass. that applies to all the cases i am tracking!

The "handyman" nicknamed "Jersey" (johnny tanko) from Lisa Irwin's neighborhood, who police sought for questioning earlier this week, is in police custody according to Kansas City, Mo. Public Information Officer Capt. Steve Young.

He was arrested on an unrelated outstanding warrant.

Police have not charged the man with a crime, but do say that they are questioning him about Lisa Irwin's disappearance.

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Saturday evening, balloons were released in honor of missing baby Lisa Irwin.

Neighbors gathered in a circle in the front yard of the family's home on the 3600 block of N. Lister to say a short prayer for her safe return and then released 12 balloons to reflect the number of days she's been missing.

Also Saturday, a reporter from People magazine stopped by the home the family has been staying at, asking to talk to Jeremy Irwin. Jeremy turned the reporter down.

While police currently questioning "Jersey," police searched a house near the 3900 Block of Chouteau Trafficway and Russell. Inside of the abandoned house, they found men's clothing and freshly soiled baby diapers. Diapers were also found around 300 yards away from the home, which is about four block away from Irwin's home.

Police could be seen putting crime scene tape at the abandoned home where the diapers were found.

So wait, I'm confused ( slow moment) are the diapers old or not? One comment says, the diapers are freshly soiled and another comment says the diapers have been there for a while, nothing to get excited about... I'm not understanding that part. Is there something I'm missing?

Edit to add: Isn't this the same house that the just searched or is that another abandoned house??

I've been living this story for awhile and been tracking this thread since about page 3.

It is a sick world we live in that this is going on and I hate that I am living so close to what is becoming a side show of what should be a city/nation wide search for a little girl.

Quick Background (most likely not quick): I can see the lights from my house to where the police are searching the abandoned building that they found the diapers. I could have told them they should have searched there day 1. Hell there are at least 4 more buildings like the one they are at on this same street.

In the beginning of this story there was much praise to pass around for LE and news as they were on top of this story quickly and freely passing along info. Now LC is right it seems once the weekend hits everyone takes a break, I'm surprised they are doing this on a Saturday if at all.

Our family passed along a tip (not through the hotline; actually speaking to the FBI) and local LE finally checked back in with us for a follow up a nice 4 days later. I understand they get 1000 tips, but the person of interest was still where we had left them and now I wish we had tailed the person ourselves until we physically saw LE interview the lady we saw with a baby that fit the description of Lisa the day of the supposed kidnapping.

Our son is in the same class as the oldest Irwin and we just can comprehend these parents. My wife is still holding out hope that they are innocent and that Lisa will be found. Sadly this means that see is constantly scared that what happened to Lisa may happen to one of children. Until Lisa is found how can I argue with her as the lights are flashing in our rear windows.

I dont know what me posting here adds to the story, but when stories like this pop up you immedeitly think the parents. Then when you found out that not only do you live mere blocks away, but you actually had your kid chapparoned on a field trip by the mom that failed a lie detector test. Then over a week later abandoned buildings are turning up baby diapers and food, you just really don't know what to do.

Not to take away anything from the search for this missing girl but this story has wider range pain that hits more homes then the Irwins.

All I know is that over this time I have only seen 2 cars with postings for lisa's return and no flyers, while in that same time I can't go 1 block without seeing a poster for a consignment sale for this weekend. I would be searching daily and posting whereever they would let me her picture and getting the help of anyone to find my daughter. I sure as hell wouldn't be staying at a family members' house while sirens are going off as I type this and lights are flashing where my daughter might have possibly been.

Thanks for letting me vent, it's 10:23 sirens are going crazy, sadly it's most likely nothing, but I hope this story just ends and Lisa is where God needs her most (where ever that might be).

This is another house, recently they started destroying buildings on Chouteau to make it a Parkway instead of a trafficway.

From Google Maps
N Lister Ave
0.6 mi, 3 mins
N Lister Ave and NE 38 St/NE 38th St
0.9 mi, 4 mins
N Lister Ave and N Kensington Ave

Or Walk 13 mins

This is what comes up when you put in the families house to the 39th block of this abandoned building.

This building in question was both a house and business "something like Mouse's Sign Design" or something close like that. They were nice enough people and usually worked on trucker's rigs painting on the sides of them in the empty lot next to this house. Being as this was a home and they had normal gatherings with children it wouldn't be out of the realm that they are remains from when they where there. Although some are saying they are fresh diapers I don't know. If I get ballsy I might take pictures of the area or LC seems to be able to get some good shots of the scenes.

It amazes me that the LE never thought to check these buildings as the Capt said that they were out of the area in question. I hope that they have the foresight to DNA test those diapers to the parents to at least rule out Lisa.

I can't believe that the area in question wouldn't include abandoned buildings mere blocks away.

UPDATE: sirens at 10:23 where for a house fire off of N Brighton
