Lots of strange things went on that night I agree IMaDick! TW wouldn't want to phone the police heck they'd be the last people she'd want to call,she clearly seemed concerned when she got over to the Straub's and maybe she thought they overdosed on something even IMO. TW was decent enough to offer to pick the Clarke's up and drive them over there but, Big John is the only one TW brings back to the Straub's - Maytee maybe had an anxiety attack or a panic attack she had some kind of take place but, the poor soul got a hell of a fright that's what!! Maytee finally shows up with the male cousin L from the Military - he apparently is living with Maytee.

What happens when Maytee shows up at Long Acre Drive she points the finger at TW very weird - nothing like kicking the messenger in the teeth!
Maytee even played & blocked the car in TW was driving.

Assuming that LE has some compelling DNA evidence against Sam and Cam, how will the defense create reasonable doubt and to what extent are they permitted to bring in the victims drug use or past arrests ? I'm sure they're already planning their strategy so what are some possible defense scenarios?

They can say they were at the party the night before for the DNA depending of course on where it was found and in what medium, the drug use will get used at sentencing if they are convicted, the judge may or may not allow reference to it during the trial.

The party is another place where tiffany will have a role to play in the trial.

Well we had one member here, back in the day, that intimated that a knife was used and that johnny was the one with the knife. If true, that means blood. DNA. Pretty solid evidence. It looks to me like the current arrest and indictments by the Grand Jury are a first for both Williams and Pettaway as far as Lucas County goes. Am I wrong?

According to Toledo Municipal Court records, Mr. Pettaway since August, 2008, has faced misdemeanor domestic violence and assault charges 12 times -- in most instances he was charged with domestic violence and assault for the same offense. Most of the charges were dismissed after the alleged victims did not report to court.

Charges against Mr. Pettaway are still pending for allegedly biting TM, who, according to court documents, is the mother of at least one of his children. The court documents allege that Mr. Pettaway also tried to punch Miss M and "threw her down."

Mr. Pettaway was found guilty on Jan. 4 of assault for hitting a man in the head with a bar stool. He was sentenced to spent 180 days in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio near Stryker, but all 180 days were suspended, and he was put on six months of probation, according to Toledo Municipal Court records.

If Pettaway had served his sentence, he would have been in jail at the time of the Clarke-Straub murders. I hope to hell Johnny didn't meet the bastard down at the Probation Office.

they can't blame the victim(s). what they can and will do, assuming it goes to trial, is attack the DNA. the collection methods and the science used to classify it or its match to the defendant(s). it's classic defense 101 going back to oj simpson trial.

i don't know the DA office there, their mindset or how they operate.

in general the victims' families are consulted about their feelings.
but the fact is most deals are cut to avoid lengthy expensive trials and appeals and get the desired outcome (perhaps LWOP).
it all depends on how hardass the DA office is about getting the death penalty.

also...a plea can be cut if it means getting the others who may be involved. with testimony from the defendants. deal in exchange for more players.

This is where I think M did major damage to this case/cause. We all know she is out for blood from the "demons." I have a feeling they will ask her out of custom, but will rely more on what the Straubs decide.

Would I allow a plea to avoid attending a lengthy trial with the other family? Probably. They have been through enough. If a deal for life in prison w/o parole can be made, they never have to see M again. Nothing will bring the victims back, so they should save what they can.

M has victimized them over and over, she should lose her say in the matter. Plus, the Clarke family already let it out of the bag that their were "4 or 5" attackers who left DNA. I would want them all to serve life rather than just 2 die.

It costs less to serve a life sentence (around a million dollars, doesn't that piss you off?) than to be on Death Row and eventually be executed (over 2.5 million, plus 15-20 year process).

I'm pro-Capital Punishment, but they need to do what they have to do in order to get the other rats off the street. Street justice is the cheapest way to go, if I had to choose...
