I knew there was a reason I've never applied to be a greeter at a funeral home.

Think about it, probably wayyyy too much free time.

What are you going to end up doing as a bored greeter at a funeral home?

Uh-huh. Exactly.

I do NOT need that temptation.

I am seriously creeped out now. I couldn't even touch a dead person I wasn't related to. Just being in a funeral home makes me cringe. 50

An Ohio man remains jailed this weekend after throwing piles of his feces at police officers while behind bars.

Millcreek Township Police in Pennsylvania tells 19 Action News that Terrance Nagare, 30, of Sandusky, Ohio had just been arraigned for an unrelated falsification charge when he went berserk inside his jail cell.

Police say he defecated on the floor and flung the feces at officers hitting them in the face. He also smeared the mess onto the walls and bench. Nagare refused to stop, forcing officers to taser him.

Moments later while officers were attempting to clean him up, Nagare started wiping the feces on the officers again.

Millcreek Township Police ended up hiring professional cleaners to take care of the mess.

Nagare was charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, aggravated assault, assault by prisoner and aggravated harassment by prisoner.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A man stabbed four people at a downtown office building Wednesday afternoon and was shot by a police officer he lunged at with his weapon, authorities and a witness said.

Three of the victims are in critical condition and a fourth received minor injuries, Columbus police spokesman Sgt. Rich Weiner said. The suspect, whose name hasn't been released, is also in critical condition.

The attack was reported before 1 p.m. at a building that houses offices of the attorney general and Miami-Jacobs Career College.

Police don't know what prompted the attack or whether there's any connection between the suspect and the wounded.

Jason Jackson, 31, works at a food stand in the building's lobby. He told the Columbus Dispatch that he heard a scream and a security guard told everyone to leave. People tripped over one another trying to get out of the building, he said.

After he left the building, he circled back and saw a man headed toward officers. The officers told the man to drop his weapon, but the man lunged at an officer who then shot him, Jackson told the newspaper.

A message left the attorney general's office wasn't immediately returned.

A 19-year-old man was killed and two people were wounded in a central Toledo shooting Friday night. Police say they believe the shooting may be gang-related and are still investigating.

A police crew heard gunshots just after 8:30 p.m. and responded to the area where they came from, near the intersection of Cherry and Bancroft streets.

Montrese Moore died a short time later at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

Also shot were Creonna Ballard, 18, and Robee Ware, 19. Their conditions were unavailable, but police said both were expected to survive.

According to authorities, the victims were in a gas station parking lot at 1530 Cherry Street when "a vehicle pulled in and stopped. The occupants spoke with one victim and then opened fire."

Moore's killing marks the sixth homicide in Toledo so far this year, and the third this week. Killed earlier in the week were Ed R. Taylor III, 27, of Toledo in a shooting and Tiffany Wilborn, 23, who was stabbed.

A Sylvania Township man was sentenced to time in prison Thursday for fondling a 9-year-old girl at the library.

Jason M. Jeffries, 23, of 7924 Central Ave. was sentenced in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to 14 months in prison by Judge Linda Jennings.

Jeffries entered an Alford plea Feb. 29 to attempted gross sexual imposition. In an Alford plea, the defendant maintains innocence but acknowledges sufficient evidence for a conviction. The court treats it as a guilty plea.

Police said Jeffries inappropriately touched the girl at the Sylvania branch library Oct. 27. The victim was not in court.

My words....below:

Sylvania....is one of the "upscale" parts of Toledo......Jeffries should get plenty of fondling in prison.....I understand they just love child molesters!

Ex-ranger faces voyeur charge
Toledoan accused of hiding video recorder in restroom
BY JENNIFER FEEHAN
BLADE STAFF WRITER

BOWLING GREEN -- Wood County Park District Director Neil Munger said he was shocked to learn one of his park rangers had been accused of photographing and videotaping women in the restroom at the W.W. Knight Preserve in Perrysburg Township.

"Obviously you put a lot of trust in your employees, especially when they have the authority the rangers have," Mr. Munger said. "It was shocking to us."

John T. Millinger, 26, of Toledo was indicted by a Wood County grand jury Thursday on 11 counts of voyeurism, three counts of theft in office, and one count of tampering with evidence for allegedly using his position as a park ranger and using park district property to "surreptitiously photograph visitors in various states of undress," Wood County Prosecutor Paul Dobson said.

Mr. Millinger, who was hired by the park district in September, 2010, was placed on paid administrative leave by the Wood County Park District after it learned of the possible improprieties in September, but Mr. Munger said the ranger submitted his resignation later the same day.

Mr. Millinger was unable to be reached for comment.

Mr. Dobson said his office became aware of the alleged voyeurism in September when a visitor to the Knight Preserve discovered an iPod with the video recorder in the on position hidden behind a "no smoking" sign in the women's restroom. His office along with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation began an investigation, which turned up evidence of other related incidents.

Mr. Dobson declined to provide specifics about the other incidents but said not all of them were at the Knight Preserve and not all involved restrooms.

"There were different methods he used, but I don't want to identify the different methods," he said.

Mr. Dobson said the 11 individuals in the images were identified and contacted by investigators.

Mr. Munger said the park district carefully screens prospective park rangers, who are certified Ohio peace officers and carry guns and badges on the job.

"All ranger hires have very extensive background checks," he said. "They go through psychological exams. It's pretty extensive, the background checking we do with rangers."

According to his employment application, Mr. Millinger has a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Toledo and graduated from the police academy at Owens Community College.

Before joining the park district, he was working for the Luckey Police Department as a patrol officer and at Westfield Franklin Park mall as a security officer.

Before that, Mr. Millinger was employed with Cedar Point amusement park as a police patrolman and volunteered as an auxiliary officer in Pemberville.

Mr. Munger said the county parks are "absolutely" safe and he believed this was an isolated incident.

"This is such an isolated incident. It's really such a shame that something like that has to cast such a pall on the park district," Mr. Munger said. "They are good people who work here."

Ten of the 11 counts of voyeurism are misdemeanors, while one incident that involved a minor, is a fifth-degree felony.

Theft in office, which charges he used county property to facilitate the voyeurism, also is a fifth-degree felony, and the tampering charge is a third-degree felony.

An Ohio man who zipped six adorable puppies into a suitcase and left it next to a trash bin might have gotten away with it if he had remembered to remove the luggage tag bearing his contact information, authorities said Wednesday. Asshat

A Toledo Area Humane Society officer filed two misdemeanor charges of abandoning animals against Howard Davis, 53, of Toledo, this week, according to court records.

'It's unfortunate he chose to abandon the dogs,' said John Dinon, the Humane Society's executive director. 'If he had just called us and said he couldn't care for them, we would have taken them and he wouldn't have been charged with a crime.'

The dogs will be sent to a foster home until they are ready for adoption.

Davis is scheduled to appear in Toledo Municipal Court on April 13.
