Yeah, there was little new (if any) information and the drabble kept licking it all up. Oh, this makes the KCPD look bad. Oh, who would kidnap a baby like that? Geez, it's like common sense was in short supply or something.

There's a rumor going around (that was shown during one of the commercial breaks - sadly, there was a school bus accident as well as this going on so the news flipped between the Dr. Phil show and that when it broke) that the family will speak out sometime today, so if I hear of anything I'll let you all know.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Six months after an 11-month-old baby was reported missing from her parents' Northland home, Kansas City detectives are still working the case and following up on leads.

Lisa Irwin was reported missing early on the morning of Oct. 4 in the 3600 block of Lister Avenue. Deborah Bradley said she put her then 10-month-old daughter to bed on Oct. 3. When Jeremy Irwin came home from work at 4 a.m., the baby was gone.

The child's parents taped an interview earlier this year for "The Dr. Phil Show," which aired in February.

At the time, the couple said said that they have been getting support and suspicion from people in Kansas City, adding that they had heard a lot of ridiculous accusations.

"Are they supportive? Are they suspicious?" Dr. Phil McGraw asked during the interview.

"It's a little bit of both. There's a lot of people coming forward and helping, supporting and et cetera. There's a lot of people out there and don't have a lot of information and make ridiculous accusations," Irwin told McGraw.

KMBC's Brenda Washington reported that police have received 1,500 leads -- 90 percent which have been checked out and cleared. Investigators said they received 11 tips in March.

Four detectives are working the case.

The national television crews have moved on and few signs remain in a Northland neighborhood about the case that grabbed the country's attention.

But six months after Jeremy Irwin called 911 to report that his daughter had been kidnapped, Lisa Irwin remains missing. Her family quietly marked the anniversary of the disappearance of the little girl they call "Pumpkin Pie."

He said Wednesday was an especially difficult day for the grief-stricken family.

"Obviously, it's a pretty hard time for us today," he said.

Irwin attended a balloon release in his daughter's behalf held in front of the family home on Lister Avenue Wednesday evening.

"It doesn't get any easier," he said. "She is still out there and we're still looking."


About 30 people attended the balloon release. Irwin thanked everyone who is helping search for his daughter or passing along tips.

"Thank you everybody for coming out and showing support," he said.

Lisa's mother, Debbie Bradley, did not attend the event.


Irwin said he and Bradley are working to maintain a normal life for their two sons in the wake of all the "craziness." He said the family is trying to stay strong and has private plans to mark the anniversary.

"Hopefully we will find her soon," he said.

The Kansas City Star, KCTV5's reporting partner, said Lisa's bedroom in her Northland home remains virtually as it did on Oct. 3, 2011. Stuffed animals line her crib while photos and other personal items adorn the walls.

"We knew from the beginning that time works against us in these cases," Capt. Steve Young, spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department, told KCTV5 Wednesday.

But he emphasized that the passage of time, "doesn't diminish the dedication, effort and commitment that detectives are using toward the case."

Baby Lisa's Mom Calls KMBC's Kris Ketz

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Six months after her baby daughter, Lisa Irwin, was first reported missing, Deborah Bradley said she is still hopeful that the child will be found alive.

Bradley called KMBC 9's Kris Ketz and spoke to him for nearly a half-hour about the case in what she described as "another difficult day."

On Oct. 3, Bradley said she put her daughter to bed. When her husband, Jeremy Irwin, came home from work at 4 a.m., the baby was gone.

Despite more than 1,000 leads, police have been unable to determine what happened. Some, privately, have said they have doubts about the story Irwin and Bradley have told them.

Ketz said Bradley initiated the call, which registered on his phone without a return number. He said she broke down and cried during their conversation.

Bradley didn't talk about many specifics in the case and hasn't since the first few days after her daughter disappeared.

But, she said, she was hopeful about a happy resolution to the case because, she said, police and the FBI have what she described as three very important leads. She did not elaborate.

The public has not heard from Bradley since early February, when she and her husband appeared on "The Dr. Phil Show."
Bradley said she hasn't felt a need to speak to local media in on-camera interviews and doesn't care if people think she isn't cooperating.

She said she's been relying on a team of supporters put together by New York private investigator Bill Stanton, and they're being proactive to try to find her daughter. She declined to be more specific about those efforts.

Bradley said she has a website that she hopes gets her side of the story across.

Also Wednesday, Jeremy Irwin joined friends and family members for a balloon release outside the family's home on North Lister Avenue.
"It shows here that they care," Irwin said. "They care about where she's at and who she's with, and they care about bringing her home safely and that's, I hope, what everybody wants."

The episode of Baby Lisa's parents aired yesterday on Dr. Phil here in Australia.

Lisa's mother talked about misinformation being out there on the internet, and referred to what people are saying. It made me wonder if she was referring to Mock and the discussions that take place here.

Also, she stated that she absolutely has been co-operating with law enforcement and that this was not true.

Apparently there is CCTV footage of someone in the middle of the night carrying a baby and they are wearing shorts. This must be Baby Lisa.

Sounded guilty as hell with their very first statements, excuses, and finger pointing at LE and their public detractors. Still do. No reason in the world innocent parents wouldn't talk to LE together or separately, with lawyers, even if the meetings were adversarial. They'd want to know every detail of the investigation. At first, I thought it possible that Jeremy didn't know. I still think he may not have known or been there when whatever happened to Lisa. But, he's at least known since shortly after her disappearance, in my opinion. He's going along with all of the spinning and he's not willing to talk to LE about his missing daughter. All JMO...

I followed this story when it happened, and for a while after that. I find it one of the most bizarre and incredulous possible--not that I have much experience with comparable cases--I just felt for this little girl's tragic life and the ridiculousness of her parents' behavior.

I recall that there were a couple of witnesses who saw some guy carrying a baby in the middle of the night, walking on the streets, and the baby only had a diaper on. My intuition told me that was poor little Lisa, probably already lifeless. Horrible to even think about it! Now, the witnesses' description differed somewhat, but I was not bothered by that, because people see different things especially at night, and when they see something they don't expect. If my sister and I were to describe a plain family situation we would totally give two different accounts, and we are sisters! So much more with the unusual appearance of a man carrying a naked baby with just a diaper WALKING in the middle of the night. Common, people do not walk in the US, they drive, and babies are not carried naked during the night anywhere--at least that's as abnormal as it can get.

How on earth could the parents erase all the traces of this tragedy??? And, how the heck could they get the uber expensive lawyer to cover it all up even more for them?

because taco saw this was going to be big TV appearance time. he's a media whore. high-profile cases generate more high profile "work". his last high profile case is doing life for murdering her hubby and chopping him up and throwing the parts in the Chesapeake in suitcases.
