whatever floats your boat, although not sure if it's swamp ass or just the general stench of his home cooking you might be smelling.

So who has to pay for these vehicles to be replaced? Was the tractor insured? IF yes, do they have enough coverage to replace all the vehicles? If not, will the cities insurance cover them? Devil Insurance Adjusters want to know.

i'm sure the Sheriff Dept. has coverage, but i don't know if it's full replacement. but they need good coverage in case of accidental deaths, bodily injury etc. that police cars are subject to. but who the hell anticipates something like this?
it has been initially estimated at $250,000. damage.

AP
A Vermont man, who authorities say was angry over an arrest and used his tractor like a monster truck to drive over seven police vehicles, is being held on $50,000 bail.

During a Friday appearance in court in Newport, 34-year-old Roger Pion invoked his right to delay entering a plea to the 14 charges filed against him for allegedly crushing seven vehicles belonging to the Orleans County sheriff's department.

NECN observed an insurance adjustor checking out the cruisers Friday. Martin said they are valued at $40-50,000 apiece when outfitted with radar, computers, a cage, and other gear.

"We'll try to save as much as we can," Sheriff Martin said, showing NECN a vehicle with a roof forced down to just above waist-level. "But as you can see, everything's crushed."

David Sleigh, the defense lawyer for the accused car-crusher, got an extension for his client. Roger Pion now won't have to enter pleas on 14 charges until Tuesday. Judge Howard VanBenthuysen ordered Pion held on $50,000 bail. If he makes bail, VanBenthuysen ordered Pion to stay in Orleans County under the supervision of his father, and ruled that he would not be able to drive vehicles, including tractors.

Meanwhile, Sheriff Martin said he wants folks to not see this incident as some strange novelty, but as a serious case. He said Pion had a loaded gun on him and destroyed hundreds of thousands of dollars of public property that more than a dozen small towns with no local police of their own rely on for patrols.

"It's no joke," Martin said. "Somebody's got to pay for it. It affects our insurance. It affects everybody."

Departments from around Vermont have loaned cruisers so Orleans County deputies can stay on the roads, Martin said.

Knox County, Tennessee deputies arrested three people after they found five adults and two children locked in the back of their U-Haul truck Thursday afternoon.

According to deputies, a 911 caller told them they saw two children being beaten and then thrown into the back of a U-Haul truck at the Wal-Mart on Walker Springs Road.

Deputies spotted the truck and pulled it over just west of Watt Road at around 1 p.m.

Deputies say there were three men in the front seat and two children, four men and a woman in the back of the locked truck. and 13 pigs. hah

The truck was filled with furniture and there was no ventilation, deputies say.

The people inside were sitting on dressers and tables.

The parents of the children were in a separate car and pulled over when officers stopped the truck.

Deputies say the group gave conflicting stories, but all the people claim to be related.

They said they were moving from Steubenville, Ohio to Fort Myers, Florida. All said they were from Steubenville except one man who was from Wheeling, West Virginia.

Twenty-five year old Rocky Ewing, who was driving the truck, is charged with 7 counts of reckless endangerment.

The parents of the two children, 30 year old Joshuwa Jackson and his 30 year old wife, Mary, are charged with 2 counts of child endangerment.

The children were released to the custody of the grandmother who was riding in the back of the truck. The Department of Children's Services has been notified.

The truck was towed because out of all the people not arrested, only the grandmother had a valid driver's license and she didn't want to drive the truck.
