At a hearing before the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, Issa assailed Holder over the actions of Thomas Perez, who works for Holder as head of the Justice Department's civil rights division. Perez is President Barack Obama's nominee for labor secretary and is scheduled for a vote in a Senate committee on Thursday.
Issa said that as part of a review of how Perez handled a fraud case, the Justice Department turned over to him only parts of emails Perez had written. The department gave Issa the "to" and "from" lines from the emails, but not the contents, he said.
Holder said he would look at the request. "I'm sure there must have been a good reason why only the to-and-from parts were provided," he said.
Issa responded, "Yes, you didn't want us to see the details."
The two talked over each other as Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, a Virginia Republican, attempted to referee.
Holder said Issa was mischaracterizing the Justice Department's response in a way that "is too consistent with the way in which you conduct yourself as a member of Congress. It's unacceptable, and it's shameful."
Issa did not respond directly to the attack, instead focusing on whether it was appropriate for Perez to use a personal email account for government business.
......The way to get around government oversight is to create an e-mail account that is not within prying eyes. A no-no for anyone in a government position. Its OK for personal use but not for official business.

In May 2011, Drew Ryun, a conservative activist and former Republican National Committee staffer, began filling out the Internal Revenue Service application to achieve nonprofit status for a new conservative watchdog group.
He submitted the paperwork to the IRS in July 2011 for a research site called Media Trackers, which calls itself a "non-partisan investigative watchdog dedicated to promoting accountability in the media and government." Although the site has investigated Republicans like Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Florida Gov. Rick Scott, the site's organizers are unapologetically conservative.
"One thing we don't hide is: 'Yeah, we're conservative—free-market, free-enterprise, full-spectrum conservative,'" Ryun told Mother Jones magazine last year.
Eight months passed without word from the agency about the group's application, Ryun said. In February 2012, Ryun's attorney contacted the IRS to ask if it needed more information to secure its nonprofit status as a 501©3 organization. According to Ryun, the IRS told him that the application was being processed by the agency's office in Cincinnati, Ohio—the same one currently facing scrutiny for targeting conservative groups—and to check back in two months.
As directed, Ryun followed up with the IRS in April 2012, and was told that Media Trackers' application was still under review.
When September 2012 arrived with still no word from the IRS, Ryun determined that Media Trackers would likely never obtain standalone nonprofit status, and he tried a new approach: He applied for permanent nonprofit status for a separate group called Greenhouse Solutions, a pre-existing organization that was reaching the end of its determination period.
The IRS approved Greenhouse Solutions' request for permanent nonprofit status in three weeks.
In December 2012, Ryun simply made Media Trackers a project of Greenhouse Solutions and withdrew the Media Trackers application.
The reason for the difference in timing could have nothing to do with the group's name. Greenhouse Solutions was applying for "permanent" nonprofit status after existing as a nonprofit group for some time. Media Trackers, a new group, was just beginning the first steps in the application process. Having a previous file with the IRS could very well have been the reason Greenhouse's application was approved so quickly.

Like I said, bad week for the administration! It's a train wreck. I don't have a lot of love for Issa but Holder was an idiot for making that comment. I wonder how Obama will respond to inquiries about that.

Ryan Fogle.
You could also temporarily zoom your screen in, and then go back. It's a nice trick... command and the + symbol on a mac, and I believe it's control and the + symbol on PC.

Catching a foreign intelligence officer red-handed, the statement continued, raises serious questions about relations with the United States, despite a recent, friendly meeting in Moscow between Secretary of State John F. Kerry and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“While our two Presidents have reaffirmed their willingness to expand bilateral cooperation, including between intelligence agencies in the fight against international terrorism,” the statement said, “such provocative Cold War-style actions do not contribute to building mutual trust.”
At least they are kicking him out and did not viscerate him in some motel bathtub filled with water as they have been known to do.

The press has turned on President Obama with a vengeance.
This is a short piece about how Obama's pissing off the Associated Press and the media may be affecting coverage of Benghazi and other "scandals" currently plaguing his administration.
His second term is looking nothing like his first term and I think he's gonna have a lot harder questions to answer in the next few years than he did in the last few. The tides have changed and it's no longer looking like a temporary drift, imo.
Snipped:
Suddenly, the White House briefing room is filled with confrontational questions. Suddenly, the news pages are ablaze with scandal, and the commentators -- even some of the president's usual defenders -- are bemoaning his shortcomings. Suddenly, Obama isn't getting the benefit of the doubt.
Some in the media rolled over for Barack Obama in the 2008 campaign, though the record was decidedly more mixed once he took office. But personal feelings toward this president who has never courted the press no longer matter; nor do personal predilections on gun control and immigration reform. The scandal machinery has kicked into high gear, and its sheer noise may drown out everything else.

Deeper investigative reporting and public accountability is fine by me.
It would be nice, however, if the news media was neither friend nor foe to any administration, but unbiased in its reporting. That's not been a reality for decades though, if ever.

If you lose ALL the press you are in trouble no doubt about that. The conservative government lost nearly all their press before the 1997 general election and the result was 13 years of New Labour.
We need to punish the French, ignore the Germans and forgive the Russians - Condoleezza Rice.
