Playing devils advocate here..as far as the "survivor" bullshit. She's been in jail for 5 years. During many of those years, she's listened to her defense attorneys, and many shrinks drill that shit into her head as a defense. Wouldnt be too surprising if she started to believe it herself.
Of the millions of sperm injected into your mother's pussy, you were the quickest?
You are no longer in the womb, friend. The competition is tougher out here.

I think that Jodi's always been in the driver's seat with her defense, Kid. Once the "I wasn't there" lie was busted out, she switched to the "Ninja invaders did it" lie. Once the Ninja lie was busted out, the "self defense" lie was born. Knowing that there was absolutely nothing to support that allegation against Travis Alexander, she made up lies in attempt to substantiate it. The defense then scrounged for experts who either didn't care that she was lying or could be suckered into believing her. That's why the likes of Dick Samuels and Alyce LaViolette ended up on the stand in this very high profile trial. I don't think Jodi ever believed her own lies and still don't. I think she was the puppeteer for her expert witnesses/shrinks, not vice versa. JMO. Arias has nothing to lose by continuing her last set of lies because she doesn't care about their impacts on others. She, imo, likely believes that she'll win an appeal, so she'll stick with the pedo/abuser story all the way because it benefits HER. Not only when it comes to consistency for appeal's sake (in her mind), but she's suckered in a following of idiots who believe her and will buy her shirts and tell her how brave she is in the face of being crucified. Some cash, some people to manipulate, and still able to dig at the dead man. Jodi's rolling...

Another interview. This time with our local NBC affiliate.

Can someone explain to me why her jailers are allowing her to do these interviews?

I'd say it's unbelievable, but nothing Arias says, nor all of her about-faces, surprises me anymore. She was a con artist long before she was a murderer; she will be a con artist til the day she dies. There's always a gullible fish swimming around and she's always got a baited hook on hand. "I know it was just one day in my life and it shouldn't define me, but I know that it does". (paraphrase) Yeah, it was just another warm sunny day in June 2008. "Everyone makes mistakes. Why can't people just forget about it and see me as I want them to see me!" That's what it translates to me. Two weeks ago she was ready to die. Backfire on that ill-conceived ploy. Today, she'll fight her mightiest to win her appeals if sentenced to death. That's "her truth", today. Bullshit Queen.

I had to stop the video when she said she thinks she'll be able to forgive herself one day. Jesus.

There's activity in the courtroom.

The talking heads say the judge will decide that within 4-6 weeks? I don't think there's a chance in hell she'd give Arias the possibility of parole but I guess Juan hopes to scare the jury towards the death penalty. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. ^ Thanks, Tiki. Your friend was right about activity.
Just turned on HLN. Judge Stephens said that there was a juror question, then to commercial break (of course). username: haven't been watching today, thanks for the update. Not sure what's going down.

Looks like the jury may hang.
Judge Stephens has asked them to go back to deliberations and try to reach a unanimous decision. If they can't, it's my understanding that a new jury would be selected for the penalty phase only and that phase would be redone. Is that the Arizona law, Tiki?

As I understand it, Martinez has two chances to get the death penalty. If they can find another jury (untainted), it would be for the penalty phase only. HOWEVER, alllllll of the evidence in the case would need to somehow be presented to that new jury. Quite a task and apparently prosecutors don't typically want it just presented on paper; too cold. They want live testimony all over again.
If THAT jury was hung, she'd automatically get life. Alternatively, Juan could take the death penalty off the table now. Yikes. Commando Cunt Queen

Let's hope the jury can all agree on a sentence.
Really don't wanna see any portion of the State vs. Jodi Arias again. Wonder what the breakdown is? Bet it's one or two jurors only who presently object to a death sentence.

I'm still playing catch up to this trial. I've heard Jodi Arias was convicted of 1st degree and is now waiting sentencing, but that, along with the appeals, will take years. In the meantime, I have a few questions that I haven't been able to understand that maybe someone here does.
I saw some pictures of T. Alexander standing in the shower looking straight at the camera, time recorded was 5:29:20 06/04/2013. Then, 50 seconds later, time recorded 5:30:10 06/04/2013, he was lying on the floor of that same shower presumably dead. Is this much correct so far? 50 seconds?...along with fighting off someone with a knife that leaves 27-29 slash marks, that same person who attacked T. Alexander also slashed his throat from ear to ear, then shot him in the head, as the autopsy revealed...all in 50 seconds and without the fella beating her up in the process? Or She coerced him out of the shower at 5:29:20. He chased her down the hallway where she pulled a gun, shot him in the head, slashed him to ribbons while his lifeless body attempted to ward off the slashes with his arms and hands, and then slashed his throat, carried or dragged him back to the shower stall, refound the camera and took his picture again at 5:30:10...50 seconds later. There was a large pool of blood, 30 or 40 feet away from the shower where T. Aexanders' body was found, without any drag marks in the hallway taking T. Alexander back to the shower. Did she carry him? If so, how did she hold the body with one hand while she propped herself up leaving a bloody hand print with the other? All in that same 50 seconds? Could someone help catch me up to what I missed?

Popper, I'm not sure of the time stamps on the camera but I understand it was more like 106 seconds. She claimed she shot him first but the medical examiner and other evidence told a different story. My understanding is the stabbing occurred mostly in the bathroom, she then cut his throat (probably where the large pool of blood was found) and then she shot him. I don't know enough of the details to explain drag marks or the absence of drag marks. Regardless, somehow he ended up back in the shower.

Well, at least the jury didn't go back to Judge Stephens today and tell her that they were "hopelessly deadlocked".
Maybe they're making some headway in reaching a unanimous decision? I really hope that's the case. Deliberations have ended for today and the jurors will be back at court tomorrow. P.s. Would love to be a fly on the wall in that deliberation room; really curious as to the split. |
