Translation: Jodi want to remain in County lock up versus State as County has A/C and State has evap cooling.
Some do, some don't. In addition, in state facilities here we have "tent cities" where there is no AC/evap at all. The "tent cities" are generally for the DUI and drug offenders, but occasionally the hard core criminals get shuffled in there either by design or in error.

Thanks for the update, Teacher.

Judge Stephens offered no reason for the reschedule.

Arias may well pass of old age before her penalty phase re-trial comes to pass. 45

Meanwhile...

The book, "Picture Perfect" by Arizona journalist Shanna Hogan has hit the shelves.

Hogan has been following the case and trial since the beginning and has appeared on a number of tv shows to report about it.

At this point, I really don't want or need to know any more about Arias other than her sentence. But, for those interested, Hogan reportedly reveals some details in the book that are unknown to the general public.

I want the death penalty... Let her wait as long as it takes and think that the offer may come and wait for that quivering bottom lip when she hears a needle is going to be put in her arm. She needs to be put down. Sorry... That's been pent up for a little bit but she deserves the death penalty.

I watched a special nancy grace did behind bars and people in jail think she is great.... Inmates included... Blows my mind!!

In a way I do too. I want her out of the public eye and muted. However, I think Travis's family has had a large say in this and if they're willing to go through the penalty phase again, more power to them.

I think they probably won't get what they want though which makes it more of a waste of tax payer dollars. Shame.

Username I believer you are right. As being someone who has gone through a trial of a different kind and on the side of the Alexander's... I was able to give great influence and opinion of what I wanted. Even when it came down to sentencing. The judge didnt say what do you want but they didnt sentence the person till they heard from me and then they went against the guidelines and weighed heavily towards "my favor" of you could call it that. So I really do believe the family has a great deal of weight here.

Last month's rescheduled sentencing status/hearing took place today, as planned.

But, it was closed to the media and the public, without explanation.

Legal pundits claim that's very rare for a case that was tried with media presence. Don't know if it means anything, whether a life sentence plea was discussed, whether the penalty retrial was scheduled or not....

Based on what little has been released from Friday's hearing, it seems as though both sides are still planning for a penalty phase re-trial.

Media Coverage:
CNN (which owns HLN) sent a lawyer to the hearing to argue against the defense team's request to close the retrial to the media. CNN argued to the judge that it's unfair to bar the media just because Arias can't control her own speech. (Arias is a real money-maker for HLN; not surprising they're investing in retrial coverage upfront.)

The prosecution motion against the request for a closed trial also argues that the defense request is essentially hypocritical given Arias's pursuit of interviews (several on the day of her conviction) and her Twitter presence.

Venue:
The defense continues pushing to have the retrial conducted outside of the Phoenix area.

No decisions or details regarding the retrial scheduling have been released.

I've never seen anyone without a penny to their name have such an awesome defense.

I'm probably wrong about this but it seems like every single little thing works out to be in that murdering bitch's favor.

Media is reporting that Arias's tweet-surrogate sent one out last week denying that her family is profiting from her crime and stating that she plans to file for bankruptcy "if she can ever afford to do so".

You just know some dipshits will be donating money to help her achieve her bankruptcy goals.

It's confirmed that "settlement" talks are underway between the prosecution and defense. A settlement conference is set for October 24th to determine if a compromise can be reached without re-trial (which would mean the death penalty would be off the table). Well, this is interesting, but not really surprising.

Arias filed a motion to have Kirk Nurmi removed from her case, again (but she still wants to keep Jennifer Willmott).

Here's her 12 page handwritten letter, where she bitches about Nurmi and contends that because of him, she's not ready for a retrial.

http://www.azcentral.com/ic/pdf/jodi-ari...motion.pdf

My favorite part is on page 5.

She contends that she didn't want the jury to hear the full phone conversation between her and Travis in open court and wanted to accept an offer to have it played in closed court, but Nurmi refused to sway from his strategy to accommodate her "tantrums".

As a result, she was so emotionally impacted that she couldn't function and court had to be cancelled that day due to Nurmi's “utter poverty of people skills” and the fact that he “has little to no tolerance for her emotional and psychological shortcomings.” Crying-into-tissue

She kills me.

Interesting.

Is there anything you feel comfortable sharing about her or the case, from a first-hand perspective?

Yeah! Tell us your opinion of her. We have pix of what that psycho did to Travis and quite a few Mockers watched her trial daily.

Sometimes when I see this thread bumped I feel a little anxious thinking that the powers that be have arranged a deal where she spends life in prison without parole. I have no doubt that Jodi would make a "life" for herself behind bars and I don't want her to have that opportunity.

Honestly all I can say about the few interactions I had with her is that I never would have expected she was capable of what she did. She was kind of shy and reserved. Mousey.

I'm kinda curious as to how you know her, but understand if you can't or don't want to share the context, and would recommend against it anyway if so doing would reveal any of your PI.

I've read interviews with others who knew her briefly and had the same impression of her demeanor as you did.

While she may seem shy in some circumstances, she ain't too proud to beg (via her Twitter surrogate), again. Whip out your credit card, Gunnar, and head on over to justice4jodi.com. Smiley_emoticons_wink
