Yup. He's educated, majored in communications, was a straight A student in high school and graduated 2nd in his class.
I saw him in a later interview that same day, it was after he showered, he was dressed to the nines, he was polished & poised and couldn't have been more articulate.

He also has more INT's the last three years than anybody else.
I think most people now, a few days later, are able to chuckle at it, but when it went down, I thought he looked and sounded like an asshole.
He apologized yesterday, and basically said he should have given more credit to his teammates during the interview, instead of making it all about him.
I think he's far from a thug. He got into Stanford for pete's sake. I don't think you can fake that. Has to be fairly intelligent.
Most intelligent people are stupid and have no common sense...take Aussie for example.

Sherman has been quoted as saying that calling someone a thug is the acceptable way of calling them the N word.

I would agree. Same with "ghetto."
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

I take some grief for this attitude sometimes but I don't care who they sign as long as they play to win. Winning is my priority.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman was fined $7,875 for unsportsmanlike conduct/taunting in the final minute of the NFC championship game against San Francisco.
Sherman's fine was confirmed by the league Friday.
Sherman was flagged after he made a choking gesture toward the San Francisco bench that he said was directed at quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Sherman had just deflected a pass intended for Michael Crabtree in the end zone that was intercepted by linebacker Malcolm Smith and clinched Seattle's 23-17 victory.
Sherman ran over and after tapping Crabtree on the backside and extended his hand for a handshake. Crabtree then shoved Sherman in the face. The All-Pro cornerback then made the choking gesture.
Sherman was the only player fined in the game.

7 grand ain't much of a fine for all the noise the media made about him last week. Hopefully it'll all settle down now.
Meanwhile, there's talk of eliminating the PAT altogether. I have a question. If you have a game quite literally called "football", that already barely uses the feet in any significant fashion, and you remove one of the only two ways a team can score with their feet...can you still call it football? How about gridiron or something more appropriate? Armorball? Helmetball? Punkinball?

I love Crabtree, but I thought his face shove against Sherman was unsportsman-like conduct, too. Huge stakes on both sides and lots of passion pumping as the game neared its end, so none of it seemed that big a deal, to me.
I don't know as much about all of the rules and regs of the league like most in this thread, so don't really understand if there's some legitimate reason that Sherman was fined and not Crabtree.

Standard rule every parent of more than one kid understands. They never catch the instigator, always the retaliator. In Sherman's case he drew attention to himself for talking shit on tv, which they can't fine him for but basically just did.

HotD, the face shove by Crabtree came after Sherman gave the 49ers the choke sign with his hands around his neck. He then proceeded to extend his hand to Crabtree to mock him with a 'good game' gesture.
At that point Crabtree shoved him to get him away. Sherman was assessed a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty at the end of the play where the Seahawks picked it off in the end zone.
I'm not sure what action the NFL cited in assessing Sherman his fine, but pretty sure Sherman earned it.

Those two have had a hard on for each other since a charity event that Larry Fitzgerald hosted last Summer. Bad blood was born then and Sherman vowed he'd make Crabtree pay. Apparently words were exchanged at this event and each took a stab at the skills of the other and what you saw after the game was pretty much the end result.

Ah, man drama. I didn't know about the off-field bad blood.
Wonder if Sherman feels he got his payback by intercepting that critical pass and shit talking Crabtree in the post-game interview (the context of his comments now makes more sense to me), even if it meant fines and bad press?
Guess we'll see next season.
