ISRAEL VS. PALESTINE...AGAIN
(08-05-2014, 10:11 AM)aussiefriend Wrote: Most (not all) Christians I have been debating this with are completely sympathetic to Israel, disregarding children having skin teared off their bodies and killed. Those pictures of people watching the conflict in Gaza is quite provocative, it looks like a form of entertainment for these people, whilst the people on the other end are being killed. The thing is, one day, that could be them on the receiving end, and then they may not be smiling and enjoying themselves so much in comfortable armchairs.

Pictures are used as propaganda by both sides to get the world on their side no matter what side that may be, a deceptive tactic that sours the truth at any rate.

The thing is Maggot, and I am sure you understand my language in this respect, the fear of a one world government is possible if we keep duke-ing it out with these people. We need peace to stop the escalation before it affects all of us.

When you refer to Revelation and those who do not bow to this one world government are beheaded. There is only one law that I know that has this penalty, Sharia.

I blame it on the internet. Before they were doing all this shit and nobody cared because nobody knew. I say let them fight until they are all dead. Just keep the infection contained and within their own borders. There is not one easy answer.

They are not interested in staying within the borders Maggot. It may go global. Wasn't 911 a retaliation because of what was happening in Israel? I think they are getting others mobilised in other countries.

I am sure like myself, you have sat through teachings on when there is finally peace declared in the Middle East then comes the 3 12 years and the mark. That technology already exists. It's all part of that. Iran may attack too. That is very concerning. There is no doubt I love Israel, I don't love the violence on either side though.

It IS a form of entertainment, Aussie. It brings them happiness when the bombs find their mark and they cheer. A few weeks ago a CNN reporter was pulled from her post there because she was reporting on it and the Israelis threatened her for telling the world.

Here's the story -

CNN has removed correspondent Diana Magnay from covering the Israeli-Palestinian conflict after she tweeted that Israelis who were cheering the bombing of Gaza, and who had allegedly threatened her, were “scum.”

“After being threatened and harassed before and during a liveshot, Diana reacted angrily on Twitter,” a CNN spokeswoman said in a statement to The Huffington Post.

“She deeply regrets the language used, which was aimed directly at those who had been targeting our crew," the spokeswoman continued. "She certainly meant no offense to anyone beyond that group, and she and CNN apologize for any offense that may have been taken.”

The spokeswoman said Magnay has been assigned to Moscow.

Magnay appeared on CNN Thursday from a hill overlooking the Israel-Gaza border. While she reported, Israelis could be heard near her cheering as missiles were fired at Gaza.

After the liveshot, Magnay tweeted: “Israelis on hill above Sderot cheer as bombs land on #gaza; threaten to ‘destroy our car if I say a word wrong’. Scum.” The tweet was quickly removed, but not before it had been retweeted more than 200 times.

Unfortunately children being killed by Israeli bombing is a factor caused by those SOB Palestinian cowards hiding themselves, as well as storing their guns, ammo, rocket launchers in "schools, churches, public meeting buildings" and anywhere else they can hide themselves using the civilians & children as shields. Thus making Israel the villain when they try to bomb/fight their enemy. It's a sad situation, war is hell!

Britain's Foreign Minister Resigns

This surprised me given the timing. Baroness Sayeed Warsi tendered her resignation after the 72-hour cease-fire was agreed-to by both sides.

She is the first Muslim to hold a cabinet position and was formerly a close ally to PM Cameron and appointed by him to the post. It's also being reported that she's first the cabinet member to resign "on principle" in Cameron's adminstration.

Here's her resignation letter.

Dear Prime Minister

For some weeks, in meetings and discussions, I have been open and honest about my views on the conflict in Gaza and our response to it.

My view has been that our policy in relation to the Middle East Peace Process generally but more recently our approach and language during the current crisis in Gaza is morally indefensible, is not in Britain's national interest and will have a long term detrimental impact on our reputation internationally and domestically.

Particularly as the Minister with responsibility for the United Nations, The International Criminal Court and Human Rights I believe our approach in relation to the current conflict is neither consistent with our values, specifically our commitment to the rule of law and our long history of support for International Justice. In many ways the absence of the experience and expertise of colleagues like Ken Clarke and Dominic Grieve has over the last few weeks become very apparent.

The decision has not been easy. It has been a privilege to serve for 3 years in your Shadow Cabinet and over 4 years in your Cabinet. Introducing you in Blackpool in 2005 as you made your bid for leadership I had the pleasure of being there at the start of the journey and it would have been rewarding to have been there till the end.

The last decade has given me the opportunity to work with some of the best in the Conservative Party and indeed in government. William Hague was probably one of the finest Foreign Secretaries this country has seen and has been inspirational. He dismantled foreign policy making by sofa government and restored decision making and dignity to the Foreign Office. There is however great unease across the Foreign Office amongst both Ministers and senior officials, in the way recent decisions are being made.

Eric Pickles has supported me tirelessly in our work on combating hate crime, challenging anti-Semitism and Islamaphobia and the pioneering work of celebrating faith in the public sphere. This new found confidence in Government has allowed me to take the very public international lead on religious freedom, specifically on the ever growing crisis of the persecution of Christians.

However, early evidence from the Home Office and others shows that the fallout of the current conflict and the potential for the crisis in Gaza and our response to it becoming a basis for radicalisation could have consequences for us for years to come.

From both Eric and William I learnt the art of reconciling passion and idealism with pragmatism and realism, but I always said that long after life in politics I must be able to live with myself for the decisions I took or the decisions I supported. By staying in Government at this time I do not feel I can be sure of that.

It is therefore with regret that I am writing to resign.

You will continue to have my personal support as leader of the Conservative Party as you continue to ensure that our Party evolves to meet the challenges we face in Britain today and ensure that the Party is relevant and responsive to all communities that make up today's Britiain.

Your sincerely

Sayeeda

Oh that is such bullshit. It's the Palestinians fault for their children being killed by Israelis? It's not the Israeli's fault that they are murdering children and dropping bombs that are shredding skin off their bodies. The devil made them do it! What a bunch of nonsense.

Even the UN have come out telling to fucking stop. It was a UN school. Not a Hamas school.

Do you honestly believe (If you do you're fooling yourself) "They" play by the rules, a UN school, church, any civilian domicile means nothing to them. Hamas schools are probably the safest, as the Hamas don't hide there!

Listen Carsman, I am on the side of peace, that's who's side I am on. Because I am disgusted by the killing of innocent children and have not stood by silently, I have encountered criticism and personal attacks. All from Christians.

It is wrong to murder a child or just another human being. You cannot say that the people who murdered them were not at fault. I cannot believe people giving Israel a pass because they are our friend. If we are truly friends with Israel, we will tell them that what they are doing is wrong, they are going the wrong way. If we stand by and condone it, we are all doomed.

CEASE-FIRE/TRUCE RESPECTED -- HAMAS MEETINGS HELD IN CAIRO

Egyptian officials have begun talks with Hamas in Cairo. The first step is reportedly hashing out a set of conditions under which Hamas would agree to extending the truce with Israel.

Israel has already said that they require the demilitarization of Hamas. I don't know if Hamas would consider demilitarization in exchange for concessions.

A large number of Palestinians are returning to their previous hoods in search of personal items where their homes once stood and to get supplies.

[Image: Gazabeforeandafter_zps66b99fce.jpg?t=1407257870]

The Palestinians are essentially trapped on a very small strip of land, the most densely populated in the world, and are not allowed to cross the borders without Israeli permission -- even to visit family in the West Bank. Gaza is a refugee camp in the truest sense of the word.

Egypt has a horse in this race and is more than just an intermediary in the negotiations. It cut off the tunnels into the country after Morsi was ousted and the new government pushed out the Islamic Brotherhood which is affiliated with Hamas. It's being reported that Hamas may well demand/request Egyptian blockades to be lifted as well.

Hamas is responsible for some of the distrust and repercussions which are keeping the Gaza Palestinians down, no doubt in my mind. But I also don't doubt that settlement expansion and heavy handedness by Israel is a real and significant factor contributing to the Palestinians sense of despair and rebellion.

Israeli PM Netanyahu is not truly of the mindset to return land since developed with Israeli settlements back to Palestinian control under the pre-1967 borders, with Palestine becoming an independent second state. That's my opinion. Polls indicate that the majority of Israelis don't believe that he is either. In my view, his continued development of settlements despite most of the world declaring it a violation of international law, along with his public statements, point far from that direction.

So,I'm hoping that Hamas will consider gaining some, not all, of what it wants in these current truce negotiations and that Israel is prepared to make reasonable concessions. A lot of physical damage was done to Gaza over the past 4 weeks whilst Israel incurred a lot of damage in terms of image and global credibility in the process, IMO. The UN has called out Hamas for using its schools and shelters for weapons storage and condemned Israel for not doing enough to avoid civilian deaths in choosing its targets. The UN has also accused both sides of possible war crimes. Maybe the Israelis and Palestinians have had enough for the time being and are more willing than usual to do what it takes to give it a rest for an extended period? Maybe. Hopefully.

Personally, I think a reset of border policy might go a long away in negotiating an extension to the truce and be a jumping board for longer term peace, though that would likely require a third party performing border patrol. Giving the Palestinians some more freedom is what I think and hope is at least an option that is put on the table this week.

Hoping for the cease-fire to hold and some good-faith negotiations to take foot before the 72 hours expires.

You're misinterpreting pass giving, no one (as you see it) is giving Israel a pass, they are fighting a war, and war is HELL! They're not playing nice, nice, it's war, they are doing what they have to do. Since Israel's coward enemy is hiding behind children & civilans to shoot off their weapons against them, heartbreaking casualties will occur when Israel responds. It was reported that Hamas hiding in civilian domiciles, and schools, fired over "3,000" rockets towards Israel. And it's only because Israel has the "Iron Dome" protection, that their country has not been so devastated as their enemy. Again, war is HELL!

Additionally, the interior ministry prepared a series of suggestions specifically for Palestinian activists who speak to Westerners via social media. The ministry emphasizes that conversations with them should be conducted differently from conversations with other Arabs. It stated: “When speaking to the West, you must use political, rational, and persuasive discourse, and avoid emotional discourse aimed at begging for sympathy. There are elements with a conscience in the world; you must maintain contact with them and activate them for the benefit of Palestine. Their role is to shame the occupation and expose its violations. “Avoid entering into a political argument with a Westerner aimed at convincing him that the Holocaust is a lie and deceit; instead, equate it with Israel’s crimes against Palestinian civilians. “The narrative of life vs. the narrative of blood: [When speaking] to an Arab friend, start with the number of martyrs. [But when speaking] to a Western friend, start with the number of wounded and dead. Be sure to humanize the Palestinian suffering. Try to paint a picture of the suffering of the civilians in Gaza and the West Bank during the occupation’s operations and its bombings of cities and villages. “Do not publish photos of military commanders. Do not mention their names in public, and do not praise their achievements in conversations with foreign friends!” Posters on the Hamas interior ministry Facebook page - See more at: http://pamelageller.com/2014/07/hamas-in...lrbDL.dpuf

That would be great if they had a dome also. Then both enemies could shoot their loads at each other until they both ran dry!

A 100 degrees at midnight. That would be a cool song title!

As would be "Shrinking some of your delicacies" by the way. You are clearly very talented in some ways. You are not in a band by any chance, are you?
