As it stands, you're all a million times more likely to die from the flu...you know that, right? I'll say it again, if we're going to get up in arms about something, why don't we mandate flu vaccines and quarantines for that? Because it's not as sexy as bleeding from ur stupid eyes?
Dumb sheeple.

Why the fuck would you get a flu shot? 39 years and I've never even had the flu, but I'm pretty sure if I did get it, it wouldn't kill me. Healthy people don't need a flu shot.

How bad can an Ebola outbreak be anyways? Its not that bad!
This is what happens if its untreated.
But this is America, no way it could get out of hand here.

I don't ever want to get it again, no, no, not ever again!
(Oh yeah, I'm healthy, but not 39!)

Right you are, no way it could get out of hand. That's unless (you) are the one that was unlucky enough to get it! Then, it's out of hand!

Cars, I can't help but notice you keep referring to Ebola as Obola, do you really blame the Prez for this? Seriously?

New from the CDC:
Ebola is a lot easier to catch than health officials have admitted — and can be contracted by contact with a doorknob contaminated by a sneeze from an infected person an hour or more before, experts told The Post Tuesday.
“If you are sniffling and sneezing, you produce microorganisms that can get on stuff in a room. If people touch them, they could be” infected, said Dr. Meryl Nass, of the Institute for Public Accuracy in Washington, DC.
Nass pointed to a poster the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention quietly released on its Web site saying the deadly virus can be spread through “droplets.”

I don't believe them, the government has already re-assured the public that this is not true, and I believe everything that the government says. Why would they lie?

Dumb sheeple. There's no room for logic in here. People enjoy freaking out over media smoke and mirrors.

No way! I take pills that give me an unstoppable and gentle feeling of great trust in our elected government officials. They say it will be available "over the counter" soon.

This is the nurse that Gov. Christie tried to keep imprisoned in a tent in Jersey. She went for a bike ride this morning, that's a state cop following her in the car. This shit is insane.

Smart ass.
As I see it,
--The federal government wants to keep over-reactive panic to a minimum; such panic can lead to more serious national problems than the disease itself. Does the government sometimes downplay potential risks in the process? Maybe.
--The CDC wants to assure the population that the disease can be addressed and/or contained through proper awareness, preventative measures, and treatment protocols (which may evolve with time). Do they sometimes overestimate their abilities? Probably.
--The media disseminates information to increase public awareness, which is a vital service. Do some media sources focus less on the integrity of the information and more on sensationalizing the general-population threat in order to maximize clicks/sells to the more fearful members of their readership bases? You bet -- same as it ever was.
Anyway, I'm not worried or afraid of Ebola for myself or for the future of the human race. But, I do believe Ebola is a serious concern which merits the (rational) attention of world leaders, the medical community and the general population. I hope a cure or at least a vaccine can be developed soon. Til then, increased awareness, wide-scale implementation of preventative and precautionary measures (which do not include closing borders and refusing to bring home and treat Ebola-infected US citizens in US quarantine, for me), and evolving treatment protocols will help minimize its spread (like with all other diseases).

Well it's not your guys fault!
(No I don't really blame "O" for that all alone, but he's the one in charge, so . . . . . ) It started here with Duncan, so should we blame Him? Or the Texas hospital that screwed up?
