Nothing if getting to the playoffs was the aim. But Elway has always made it clear he's about one thing, the championship. Fox got them to the playoffs pretty much all the time, but Denver spent a lot of money to gather talent around Manning, only to be embarrassed three years in a row. First time one and done, second time humiliated on the big stage, and this year spanked in their own house. This was pretty much their last shot at it: Peyton's nearly forty, the free agency market's gonna chew the team up this year. They'll never get a better look at it, and they failed badly. So Fox has to go.

I understand that the goal of every team is to play in the Super Bowl but it just seems like there is no margin for error any more. I'm speaking in general terms only. I feel like there is little to no patience in developing teams/QB's.
I hate to see Peyton go out like this but I'd also hate for him to stay and be talked & written about like he's a joke.

In all seriousness, it's so very hard for me to think that the Packers can win at Seattle tomorrow.
The way that Seahawk defense is playing combined with Rodgers'leg issue, just makes it nearly impossible for them to get a win.
GB would have to dominate special teams play and get 3 turnovers from Russell Wilson & Co to have a chance.
As for the Colts going into Foxboro, I feel the same way. NE is coming off a nice victory over a team that's used to winning on the road in the playoffs.
I can't see Luck matching Brady tomorrow.
Will a road team win tomorrow? Last year, both home teams won, the year before, both road teams.
Will the top 2 seeds really advance to the SB again after doing it last year? Prior to that it had occurred only once in nearly 20 years.
Predictions?

Wish I had a reason to care.
I can see GB winning. We know Seattle can be beat at home. I no longer have faith that the more talented team always wins. Shit happens, that's what I have faith in.

The Bears have hired your former coach, Donovan. He wasn't out of work for long. Good luck, Coach Fox!

Yeah it was pretty much a given that he'd catch on someplace, he was a good coach.

tough break going from 16-0 at halftime to losing in OT.
This Pats-Colts game isn't nearly as close as I thought it'd be. These young Colts look scared and mistake prone.

Yep, that was a Vikings-worthy choke-job.
I went across the street and consoled my neighbor (as he's done for me when Minny suffers a cruel, heart-wrenching defeat).
Now, on to Seattle and New England.
Go Pats!

Holy Crap!
The only thing I had to say when the game started was 'don't let my team get slaughtered'...I think I jinxed them.

I just saw the score. What the hell happened? I didn't know if they would win but I didn't see that coming either.

I don't know, they played so well the last two weeks. Someone forgot to tell them they had a game yesterday...a rather important game.
I'm so depressed, I blew off work today.
Not really...I just didn't feel like going to work today.

Not really...I just didn't feel like going to work today. Rodgers' injury likely played a big role, but the defense was horrible in the 4 th quarter.

I don't think GB fell apart. They dominated defensively the first half. Wilson looked like crap. Then they just kinda coasted and let Seattle hang around. That onside kick should never have gotten back to Seattle. Their special teams F'd up.

I saw shades of it in their game against the cowballs. Poor tackling. Not your normal GB style defense.

I didn't care about either team but the GB/Seattle game was definitely a good watch. When GB tied it up at the end, I thought for sure they'd be the ones to win it in OT. Then BOOM! Seattle pulled it off. Crazy.
