Yes, it does go back in history, but what does any movement need? Cash! And that cash is coming in from a different time scale as in now! And "radical" Islam has not been around for 1500 years because Islam itself only got established by the birth of Mohammed 1445 years ago. The radical Islam we see now comes from Saudi Wahabism a few years back.
You are full of shit sir!
Well excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me! I rounded up. Tell me one thing are you Shia or Sunni? Are you Hamas?
Your analogy that Gaza is the new Auschwitz is what is full of shit. When the people voted in Hamas to control Gaza that created the problem. The Islamists have showered Israel with thousands of rockets; they are just defending themselves. They take every precaution before strikes; they warn the civilians to unass the area.
You don't like being shot at, then kick the Islamists out of Gaza; recognize Israel's right to exist and they will gladly live with you in peace.
I have not been hood winked by the Islamists, and I am educating my fellow country men so they will be ready for your ilk.

And, I actually believe it as well.
If bet 98% of Westerners have no idea about the history of Islam and what they truly desire.
How do we get Moderate Muslims to take more of a stand? Why can't they tell the world what these extremists are after? Are all Muslims truly seking this Levant/Caliphate?
That is the $64,000 question. There are a few Muslims trying to reform Islam, but they are fighting and uphill battle. They are demonized by the main stream media, attacked by their own people and ignored by our politicians. Until we get more people awake to change things here we will be fighting this battle.
The Islamists have deep rooted beliefs based on Muhammad's writings (the Hadith), and they have held them for 1445 years. They use it to justify their actions. It is similar to how the Japanese twisted the Bushido; we defeated them by uniting and going to war. Dropping two atomic bombs helped.

Did anyone hear what Putin said at the G20 summit in October?
Here is a youtube of it.

To be a feminist is simply to believe that everybody should be treated equally, regardless of sex. It means you think that there should be equality of the sexes economically, socially, politically and personally. When you put it like that, it’s surely difficult for anybody to deny being a feminist. But for such a simple concept, it is often dramatically misunderstood.

You got a quite a problem of gang violence in the States, that's Daesh! Only they got more cash, training, and backup to do their shit.
I can see some commonalities between U.S. gangs and Daesh; the rewarded violence, the prisons as recruiting grounds, the almost unbreakable commitment and loyalty of the members...
I also have no doubt that money, along with political agendas, played a major role in the establishment of Daesh.
In my opinion, Daesh is more like a cult than a gang though. A combination cult/gang actually. Gang members don't voluntary kill themselves for the cause. They're insular and don't proudly advertise their crimes and actively recruit oustiders from far and wide.
I think most Daesh members are probably true believers who see Bagdhadi as the caliph and have a twisted but sincere belief that they're contributing to a godly prophetic mission for which they're justified in taking the lives of infidels and for which they'll gladly lay down their own lives for expected after-life rewards. Fucked up people drunk on the kool-aid. But, there are probably many motivators for the individual Daesh terrorists throughout the chain of command. Those are just my opinions based on what I've read and observed over the last few years.
Here's a fact: moderate Muslims have denounced Daesh for years now, over and over. I've posted harsh denouncements of Daesh from Muslim leaders and other Muslims many times. Muslims, way more than any other group, are the fatal victims of Daesh. Jordan (primarily Muslim) has bombed the shit outta Daesh. The Kurds (Muslim) are the ground troops giving their lives to quash Daesh. And, still, inevitably, non-Muslims ask why moderate Muslims aren't denouncing Daesh.
I don't disagree with Putin that the U.S. inadvertently helped create Daesh by taking out Saddam under false pretenses that he supported al-Qaeda and had WMDs (and then incarcerating together his disgruntled followers for years; nothing to do but plot and bond). Putting Maliki in charge, with a promise that he would lead a democratic government that served both Sunnis and Shiites equally, and then failing to respond when he instead repressed Sunnis, was another factor that helped Daesh grow. But, those U.S. actions alone didn't create Daesh and plenty of governments have shit on their hands when it comes to Daesh, in my view. Putin has his own vested interests and political agendas as well -- his commentary is not unbiased.
There is so much long-held animosity and hatred between some Middle Eastern countries, and between Sunnis and Shiites, that I don't believe the collective Muslims of the world have somehow put centuries of conflict aside to secretly develop a master plan to take over the world. If the Islamic world ever manages to unite, such a theory would be more realistic. I don't see that happening anytime in the foreseeable future, if ever (just ask the Houthis, Qaeda, Daesh, the Kurds, Iran...)
As for the Saudis...

Guess what, I'll keep asking why the Muslim world doesn't denounce these evil-doers until I take my last breath.
Apparently, you're inundated with newspaper clippings, press releases and video of Imams the world over saying how these extremists don't represent the true Muslim.
Give me a break.
They all read the Quran and it says Kill the Infidel. Moderates are afraid of the fanatics and they'll be killed just like any Christian or Jew would be.
That's why we don't hear anything from moderates.
It's people like you that'll get us caught with our pants down when the shit hits the fan because you'll continue to poo-poo the idea that these fuckers want to rule a large portion of the earth, and destroy the Western way of life.

"People like me" are gonna get "us" caught with our pants down? That doesn't even make sense, drama king.
I've been concerned about the Islamic State terrorists and believed they were greatly underestimated by many from early on. I've been posting about that for over a year now and you've responded to some of those posts, so I know you didn't miss them.
I assume you also saw the news posts with the denouncements from Muslim leaders worldwide, along with the posts about the Muslims fighting against the Daesh terrorists. Just because you wish to ignore something because it doesn't fit with your simplistic view, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
I'm not inundated, MS. I just read and listen to a variety of sources when I'm following a topic. As for the Western world, I happen to be a member and a big fan of it overall. I'd say I embrace and celebrate its ideals as much, if not more, than you.
So, Christ Whisperer, do yourself a favor and take a break from telling me what the Koran includes and how all Muslims think. Spend some time reading the Bible (and don't skip the violent and death-promoting verses that you find distasteful). According to your logic, all modern day Christians take it literally and should be feared by the rest of the world. And, according to your logic, I should be bitching at you and other Christians for failing to read the minds of batshit Christian cult leaders and failing to kill them with your own hands before they caused the deaths of others.
Anyway, if you read my post to which you responded, you'll see that I indeed consider Daesh a group of ISLAMIC terrorists. I don't justify a damn thing those barbarians do and I want them dead, as I've made clear many times.
I just don't view all Muslims as Islamic extremists/terrorists and I know for a fact that Daesh has been denounced and fought against by reasonable Muslims. Live with it.

I generally am a New Testament guy.
Except for some of the Psalms.
My point for being more vocal about this is that I feel these scum really mean business.
When people in our society try to minimize what they're doing or minimize their means, attention needs to be called to it.
If they could, they'd slaughter any and all of us who didn't conform to their beliefs.
Christianity is a little different. Maybe you should go check out the Bible yourself and see where any of Jesus' teachings promote anything but tolerance and love for your neighbor.

Those darn gays, always fouling things up.
Edit: however, and I had to confirm this, Jesus never once said anything about homosexuality. He only confirms that God made a man and a woman, and that they should be joined.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone, anywhere, minimize what they are doing. The whole world is horrified by it. In our own country we have heads of states saying they won't accept refugees into their communities because they are not prepared to risk it. I really don't understand where that comment is coming from and especially when you say shit like that to Hot D. She backs up her comments consistently and her thoughts are not colored by emotion.
I'm not defending her, she doesn't need that. I'm simply stating what I see.

And I'm saying, there's more to ISIS than murdering people in the streets of Western countries.
They ultimately want to destroy us and our way of life.
Period.
The time to recognize that is now and not wait for it to go away.
I don't like Obama's policy right now. I think we could be doing more with our military power, but we're allowing this cancer to grow and spread.
ISIS has the financial means to accomplish a lot of what they want, and as Western countries stare at each other with the 'hey, you guys go do something about this' look, they'll grow more dangerous.

Here are just a couple of the many Bible passages that aren't exactly promoting tolerance and love.
Make ready to slaughter [the infidel’s] sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants. Isaiah 14:21
Then I heard God say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children.” Ezekiel 9:5

I could start posting up Bible passages that promote violence and murder, MS. But, you'd just have an interpretation that fits with your personal beliefs. And, that's fine with me.
Can you admit that Christians don't all interpret the Bible the same way? That what Jesus whispers in your ear is different than what Jesus whispers to some other Christians'? That some fundamentalist Christians practice intolerance and bigotry, using the Bible as justification? That good Christians aren't responsible for the acts of bad Christians? That some people look into both the Bible and the Koran, take passages out of context, and use them to justify their own bad will?
I'm not condemning Christianity, Islam, or religion. I just think you see only good or evil and stroke with a very broad brush. Accusing me of being a threat to the western world because I don't share your judgments and opinions is moronic.
