Austrian Christmas
The Krampus opposite me smiled, reached toward me under my seat, materializing two beers from under the bench packed atop with heavy furred men. He popped both bottle seamlessly while his grin momentarily disappeared.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

The little Slovak village my husband grew up in Hungary had a Krampus and two devils that came to every house on Christmas. If you were a good kid you got candy, if you were a bad kid you got your ass beat in front of the whole neighborhood. Freaking weirdos.

That is not a holly, jolly, most wonderful time of year face. Not by a long shot.

I'm not big on holiday movies, but I love The Ref.
It's hilariously smart-assed and dysfunctional.
Plus, I really like both Kevin Spacey and Dennis Leary.
Fantastic Flick. Owned it on VHS.
Bad Santa is pretty funny too. Watched Elf with the wife the other night, plus Charlie Brown Christmas, and a slew of not as good, generic Christmas movies she's wanted to watch in the last couple weeks.
Christmas with the Cranks is amusing/entertaining, but not good. Home Alone and Jingle All the Way were some of my childhood favorites. A Christmas Story.
The best tho are Nightmare before Christmas and Die Hard (totally a Christmas movie. Also Batman Returns while we're at it.)

I'd go with Leo's film. *nods*
Leo was pretty good, but Tom Hardy was upstaged by a bear. And horses. And a babbling brook.
The more I see outta Hardy, the less I like him. He's a tough lookin dude, but just not engaging. He's like a less charming Channing Tatum. I tried liking him for Mad Max, but a lot of his other roles just fall so flat.
Btw Duch, you should definitely not see it. That poor horse.

Did he kill the horse and get inside of it to stay warm?

Cowboy movies would be a lot cooler with lightsaber IMO.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

Well, the cliff killed the horse, but otherwise yes.
Sorry if that's a spoiler.

My niece has never seen Home Alone, which I used to love. And, I have never seen the Nightmare Before Christmas, which is one of her favorites. So, we're gonna to try to fit those two in before Christmas.
Bad Santa was funny and I really liked the first Die Hard movie too.
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is another holiday movie that I like a lot.

I would be afraid the wolves would get me if I climbed into a horse.

I just watched a promo for it and saw the horse go over the cliff. It looks like a very exciting movie, violent & tense. I'd watch it, I might have to avert my eyes every now and then but it's a film I would find interesting.

A present for you both. Horrifying and funny and yet, not really surprising. Merry Xmas.

Thanks for that video Donovan, and Merry Christmas to you too.
I'm not surprised about how the dude turned out.
I saw The Good Son back in the day. The writing was on the wall.

Started the Netflix series "Making a Murderer" last night. 5 episodes in and I can't wait to finish it off tonight. Incredibly wild and disheartening documentary that begins with a man who was wrongly imprisoned for 18 years and the hits just keep on coming.
