Presidential race 2016
I don't think Trump is that despicable. But if you read the news it seems he is the anti-Christ. At least he's not promising free stuff which to me legitimizes his non-politician status.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

He's made some ignorant remarks about women that make him out to be less than admirable and not fitting for a 21st century POTUS maggs, but that's not my point.

I almost always watch the videos and read the transcripts of what the media reports was said by a candidate; Trump says a lot of shit that's inaccurate, unverified, and other shit that I just don't think is good for the country -- in his own words, from his own mouth. Then again, he often tweaks or changes his claims shortly thereafter, so I'm not sure where he stands on anything but immigration.

I know where Clinton stands, though I've watched her dance and change her tune about issues, and misrepresent her opponent's record in some cases, when it serves her interests.

Anyway, I don't know if Trump is despicable or Hillary is a shrew behind closed doors. It doesn't really matter to me. I'm more concerned about their ability to lead the country in a way that's most fair to everyone socially and economically, and to represent the United States aptly and strategically in the global arena.

And that never has been, nor will it ever be a one person job. Which is why at this point, Trump will get my vote. He's made a living off of surrounding himself with doers who get the job done. Jim Webb would make a great VP, but that's just my opinion. Hilary has done nothing but blunder lie and try to cover it up. Blowhard vs. corrupt inept professional politician is a no brainer for me.

Yeah, I know it's not a one person job leading this country, Gunnar.

And I understand, but don't share, your opinions regarding the relative strengths and weaknesses of the candidates running to be at the top of the chain.

I do agree with you that the President's selected cabinet and advisers play important roles in regards to how much the President is able to accomplish and how effectively, as do our elected congressional representatives.

Webb or O'Malley might be interesting VP considerations for Clinton, but I think Webb is too conservative for where the Democratic party is headed. Bernie would of course be a very interesting VP for Clinton, but I think his age might make people nervous and I don't think Hillary would want an independent democratic socialist at her side.

I get the sense from a couple of his interview remarks that Trump would really like Kasich to consider a VP offer, but Kasich was very firm in saying he wouldn't want to be anybody's VP.

Trump also mentioned Nikki Haley, governor or South Carolina, a couple of times. She backed Rubio and slammed Trump ahead of her state's primaries, but she's considered a rising star in the Republican party and Trump might be looking at a woman to try to help him improve his standing with female voters. She said she's got too much on her plate to consider being Trump's VP, but she'll back the Republican presidential candidate.

Here are some of the VP names being kicked around by the pundits: http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-ele...on-n562566

I'm so excited to watch Hillary kick some Trump ass from one coast to the other. Go Hillary!

It wouldn't be a shock to learn that Trump selected someone completely off the radar for "the pundits." Webb is conservative enough to be a candidate as well as O'Malley. Time will tell and I think we've failed as a nation by having Clinton and Trump to choose from. Many share in my opinion on that and it's why I think we may see a major shift. Trump has proven to be effective with misinformation and accusations. A lot of people are fed up with traditional American politics. Bassically, were fucked whoever gets elected at this point, but it sure will be interesting. This may be the first election in many years that people will talk about after the new POTUS is sworn in.

Clinton's definitely focused more on Trump than Bernie these days. I saw her interviewed yesterday and she labeled Trump a 'loose cannon' at least twice.

I'm sure Trump will hit back and go after Clinton relentlessly on a personal level, like he did his Republican competitors.

Anyway, this is Clinton's new anti-Trump ad. I think it's pretty smart; all the criticism of Trump coming exclusively from the mouths of high profile Republicans.

That was excellent! Really perfect and spot on! 39

I hadn't seen that yet. Thank you!

You think Trump would consider a conservative Democrat or a very liberal Democrat, like Webb and O'Malley respectively, for his running mate?

I can't see that ever happening.

If the Democratic party platform hadn't been moved to the left by Bernie, I think Clinton might have considered Webb though. And, I still think she might consider O'Malley.

Probably not, like I said Webb is just my opinion, but there has been a lot of talk about changing the party and bringing it back together, and Clinton's add campaign sure would push that agenda if she continues down that path. Like I said, it will be interesting. And it probably won't be predictable.

hah That's kinda cool. I can see people voting for Trump if not for anything but because people say they shouldn't and if its one thing that people hate is being told they cannot do what they want.

I agree. The quickest way to get me to do something is to tell me not to.

My husband is voting for Trump even though he doesn't agree with his great wall of Mexico. I say to hell with voting, but I guess he likes to exercise his rights now that he's not an illegal alien anymore. Funny how he never got all the free stuff people claim that the illegals get now. After his visa ran up all he got was a letter saying to change his status or get the fuck out of the country in 30 days.

Donald is encouraging Bernie to run as an Independent.

Bernie Sanders has been treated terribly by the Democrats—both with delegates & otherwise. He should show them, & run as an Independent.
